Protein: diamond in the rough

Don't care for/trust protein factory. They are like 35/40 minutes from my house. Knew the owners ex wife for a little. Real milfy.

Muscle Fiest gets there protein through RxWhey. Both are G2G.

True Nutrition does a lot of in house and 3rd party testing (details of this were recently posted on FB and several forums). The co-owner is also one of the most respected and helpful people in the bodybuilding community.

this was the kind of feedback i was hoping for. they are really the only place to get a decent priced HBCD product. for whatever reason i was always sketched out from buying from places like that. note, this is note me flaming them in any way. you have no doubt about their hbcd quality?

I've used the hbcd for a few years and am confident in the quality.

edit: the new restrictions on the forum is making it a hassle to upload pics btw.

GNC and the Vitamin Shoppe never have any good clearance prices when I check them out. Usually just online prices. Guess I need to hit them at the right time.

Good vibes.... I think I need to see a receipt! Lol that's a hard one to believe! You must know someone! Hahah

What's the best time to go for the clearance? Any ideas?

Man you knw I bought those for the receipt too and I lost it. I'll find it though, I'm more interested in finding my ON protein, that was the best deal

Five days before the end of the month is when they do product rotation and do the markdowns for products that are 3 months out.

They also discount discontinued products or products that are no longer on the planogram

This, but gnc marks it down every first week of the month. They're getting cheaper with the deals though. Before it was 75% off (3 months before expiration). Now it's only 50% off but gnc brand they will still go down to 75% I think.

You are correct. GNC brand items are 75% off within 2 months.

Just an FYI...

Any price that ends with a 7 (ie $31.97) @ VS is a clearance Item. (Sometimes the 50% red tag doesn't get put on the tag)

Interesting fact to know. I ran out of protein and need some cheap tubs to tide me over while I wait for my Select.

I know it's not the best price but Select is on sale @ VS for $29.99 (Snickerdoodle) this month. Not having to pay shipping makes it a pretty good deal. Not sure but might be able to search for a VS coupon too.

I normally don't shop at VS/GNC so actually, thanks for the info. I'll just get a small Select tub.

That is a pretty solid price for in store. VS usually has coupons too

You can buy bulk 90% pure whey concrete at winco for $6.75 a pound where i live. By FAR the cheapest ive seen. It is unflavored tho

TN is great, its a great idea how they do it and i trust their work, i use there carbs every now and then. have not tried their protein but i trust TN

I've used TrueNutrition before. Best if you buy in bulk because shipping is crazy expensive. Taste is pretty bad (from the flavors I've tried) so honestly I'd rather just go with stuff like Select.

I agree with you. The taste is ehh and it does take a little time for it to get to your house/apartment. The only flavor I tried and liked is chocolate coconut

Unfortunately I buy ~16 lbs everytime I buy from TN so I get the discount, and if I don't like the taste I mix it with protein I already like, haha.

Ever try MyProtein?. The two flavors I've tried tasted great. Raspberry and vanilla.

Nope, never even heard of them until your post.

Guess you missed my post on the first page, I mentioned Myprotein. Lots of unique flavors, its WPC but its inexpensive and they constantly have sales on their site. There's a 30% off sale going on right now for US orders - use the code YESWHEY at checkout. The Sticky Toffee Pudding flavor is fantastic

They have Isolate also....Also an "All in one" type protein with creatine and hmb included.

30% off of 54 bucks is pretty good....brings it to 38 bucks for 5.5 lbs of Whey.

They have some awesome sales. Most of the time you can get 30% off your order!. They were first popular in the UK. Now they have a US store also.

They always seem to have great sales on BCAA, PB, Jerky, everything they carry. I get emails from a fitness deals site daily. Might have to jump on their jerky at some point.

Dymatize elite whey protein from a website I like to keep a close secret u can get it 10 lb 88 dollars after shipping 125 servings 25 grams of protein 5.5 grams of BCAAS 4 grams of Glutamine and 1 gram of suger per serving... Feel free to pm me for the website I find everything on there cheaper then any where else been my go to website.

Ok, I know the better proteins are pricy, and you get what you pay for! I get that, and I also know Select, Cellucor, MTS, ect... are good profile proteins! But I'm in search of a good profile protein that's not going to break the bank!

I usually buy in 5lb tubs and spend around $30-$40. Sooo lets see what everyone has to say!

100% iso-whey will be 9-12$/lb the rest doesnt matter IMO

Took the plunge and used the 30% off to order 3 5.5lb pouches of Vanilla WPC from Myprotein. 300 servings for ~115 bucks...wow

Yeah. I hope Vanilla is normal/decent. I don't know how TN screwed up their Vanilla flavoring, but eh. Worth a shot. I'll just mix with Select or something if it isn't good

The vanilla is actually pretty good. Not too sweet like a lot of vanilla flavors. I had the "Total Milk & Whey" which is a blend of milk protein isolate and whey concentrate. I can't imagine yours tasting much different.

I use mts/select for the most part for their quality. If I don't have a lot of money at the time, I buy dymatize elite xt. One of the best prices on protein but you gotta take the trade off with the flavor and profile a bit. Flavors aren't bad(I've had them all) but once you get used to mts/select, nothing compares

There's 8.5 lbs of MTS (pb fluff and no bake cookie) in the supp auction for 70 bucks shipped I believe
