Morning hiit?

I'm almost through with my cut and I'm down to the last 5 or so pounds and was thinking about changing my hiit to the morning. I was thinking about doing a protein shake and like an apple and drink bcaas throughout the session but am afraid of any muscle loss. Would I lose muscle by doing my hiit in the morning like this, it would fit my schedule much better and would allow me to be more consistent. Also, I would be eating breakfast almost immediately afterwards. Thoughts?

You wouldn't loose any muscle doing your HIIT that way! I train fasted and have done HIIT in the mornings even while putting on muscle! The bcaas would be plenty and then eating afterwards- you'd be gtg!

Awesome! So the apple/protein before hand isn't necessary? I'm thinking about doing just the protein at least to be on the safe side unless it would only hinder results?

Just add some further anecdote to what other posters have said, I generally train completely fasted at 5am a few times a week, generally involves high volume workout followed by HIIT on the bike straight after. No issues what so ever with progressively improving week on week.

Cant say how the mechanism works but I believe the thermo effect from early AM HIIT can be more beneficial than doing it later in the day as well. i cant say how your eating right after your workout would effect it but I highly doubt in a negative way and this is my preferred way to go ahead and get cardio out of the way
