Hyde's 8wk Ergonine Run

Awesome PRs Hyde. Looking forward to your meet numbers.

Damn! I've been lifting wrong all along. Hyde is living up to his AVI name. New AVI perhaps? <img src="http://anabolicminds.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=116141"/>

He needs a CG image of himself turned green tearing through a shirt

Hydes on track like a horse and jocky.

*looks around* prs everywhere!

Off-day. Benching tomorrow.

Big numbers Hyde..

That video is impressive too..

Thanks everybody - trying to claw my way up the mountain, one workout at a time. As for the video, BJ's 2,000lb raw total (without knee wraps) is pretty legit if you ask me.

Weighed 224.6 this morning, so I def need to make sure weight maintains (or even goes up a hair). I don't want to start monday at 230 or anything, but I feel very confident I can cut 8lbs of water easy next week by lowering carbs/dropping food & water x hours out/herbal water pill. Actually would like to start losing fat before too long maybe after this meet, but if I wanna squat big I need to be as heavy as possible so for the minute it's time to embrace the bodyfat.

Speaking of gaining weight....this really happened:

They broke it down on another article and estimated the diet to be 12,000 cals/day on average.

From an article on elitefts.com by Brian Schwab titled 5 Mental Strategies to PR - notice the advice is for ALL of life:

"1. Think positively: It’s as simple as that. Like breeds like. Positivity breeds positivity. Negativity breeds negativity. It may take some time, but eventually you’ll see that your positive thoughts are overriding all others.

2. Learn from negativity: We’re often told to avoid negative people. Instead, learn from negativity and realize that it isn't how you want to be. Try to understand why people think negatively and show them positivity.

3. Focus on the moment: Don’t worry about what’s happened in the past. You can’t change it. Don’t stress about what the future may bring. You haven’t created it yet.

4. We can’t control everything, only our own thoughts and actions: If something negative happens, which it will, understand it, grieve if necessary and then let it go. Nothing good will ever come from focusing on the negative.

5. Be persistent. There may still be times when the world seems like it’s out to get you. Continue to focus on the positive. Everything, regardless of how serious it may seem, will pass.

The grass isn’t greener on the other side. It’s the same color because you create the color in your mind. Change your mind and you change your world."

Nah man, the grass is often greener on the other side because it's fertilized with bullsh*t.

Tonight everything was just firing "on". I felt unstoppable, and the weights moved accordingly. Got a bit loose on the Slingshot sets, but everything still flew.

^ shaping up brother!

Yeah things seem to be going well atm. We'll see if this continues friday with the squat for the last big session. BTW just checked and I've started my tub on the 19th, and it's the 18th and I've still got several days left in my tub for sure. Always used a level, or even rounded scoop of E9 and only missed a single day (last Friday) so this tub has already provided 27 days of actual use and going strong. Solid value, and manufacturer honesty!

This supplement seams to be the "Real Deal"

This supplement seams to be the "Real Deal"

I've used no other creatine supps, besides 2-3 scoops of Carnivore (2g creatine mono/scoop) a WEEK, max, since on E9 - the Creatine Anhydrous at 3g certainly seems to be a sufficiently potent replacement for the standard 5g of mono. Bodyweight has roamed a pound or 2 the last month, but I've been 225 in the morn pretty consistently. And I feel like accessories haven't gotten any weaker. Was also taking 3g of betaine anhydrous as well e/d prior to this, and again no noticeable dips/drops. Except E9 is much more palatable than bulk TMG!

Another strong session Hyde.. can't do the music though lol

Lol I don't think most would appreciate it, but it's a part of how I train so I like to share that crap too.

Off-day. Mentally ready to squat but I need to take the day to rest everything as planned so I can lay it down tomorrow night. Working up to my opening squat.

Very controlled. I like it. I hope I get better at resting when needed.

My biggest desire for this meet is the squat. And the final heavy squat is arguably the most important training session of this entire training cycle. Tomorrow's 450 sets the tone. The better it moves, the easier it will be to believe in myself. Plus I want to peak on schedule.

Good Luck !

Now go crush your squat tomorrow :)

Did just that! Friday night was 100% focused on the squat opener:

Week 9, Heavy Squat

Comp Grip Squat
45x10
135x5
225x5
315x3
385x1
+belt
425x1
455x1 (NEVER MOVED SO FAST)
415x2

Hammer Curls
over 100 reps, building to a top set of 50s x10

6-7 sets of Calves on Legpress (12-17 reps each)

Decline Situps
BWx a lot
Holding 45 plate on head x2 sets of 8-10

Peaced out. Got enjoy a bonfire afterwards and some brats w/ a buddy in town and his fam w/ friends. That 455 was extremely confidence-building. The power is there to hit 500 I believe. Praying it comes together on meet day.

Yesterday was off - there was a good-size meet at Chris Janek's (2,725lb total last year at the XPC at the Arnold) gym in the town over so I handled a few gym buddies. His new facility is awesome! Woke at 7:30 and didn't get home til 7:30 in the evening. Only had to wrap one of them so bicep tendinitis didn't get too bad, but 2 of my guys were in the 2nd flight and the other was in the 3rd so I was spread pretty thin. My pits were soaked through lol.

Just finished my blue ice E9 yesterday, w/ half a scoop left after 30 days of use (some w/ rounded scoops). Impressions of Nana Berry will be coming soon after today's workout!

Wow Hyde nice squatting and volume curls!

Looking forward to your thoughts on Nana
Definitely try it solo first

Eh it honestly was the laziest skimpiest "workout" I've performed in a good while. Nothing about it was taxing or building; just hit my opener and did a few lil muscle groups to keep them healthy and strong.

Drinking Nanaberry now - AWESOME! I knew I'd enjoy the flavor more; strawberry banana has always been a good flavor in my books and it's very nice here in Ergonine. Reminds me of the Tropicana juice blends Mom would get us sometimes as a kid. Sans the insulin spike lol

Feeling wiped out after all the adrenaline and stress of yesterday. Last accessory day is today but think I'm going to keep it more restorative and stick to dbs, cables & machine work.

Anyone curious about E9 may want to hear my run down if the product in my recent SuppTalk radio interview,

If you just want the E9 goodies you can skip at least the first 5 minutes

"455x1 (NEVER MOVED SO FAST)"

Very Nice !!

Have a good lift Hyde.

5-6 sets of 8-14

285 w/ no leg drive is good, especially since the bar paused got within 2 in off my chest. I know I can basically make that distance up with a better arch on an actual bench at comp, so if I can get 10% more weight out of leg drive at the meet 300 is def on the table as well. Been working on this for a while so hopefully it comes to pass.

Hitting the big weights is always a rush !

Look at this guy, squatting small cars and curling motorcycles.

He is Dr Jekyll's nemesis after all! Nice job beast!

We now have an option to nominate members for a PR medal,
Hyde is another deserving guy.

Just got tyga tyga his

Oh great, now I have to go pull a 425 pound deadlift tonight. lol

Yeah I went on my laptop for it. Admin just linked it in the 10,000 bench press challenge

Got it, thanks. Where was this a couple of weeks ago when I set PRs on my squat and deads on back to back days?

Lol deserved that video of yours is saved ;)

Some very Inspirational guys/gals here

Thank you everybody for the kind words! Just another training day and needed to keep some weight in my hands so I decided to work up.

Meat day, coming in hot!

Yeah man, me and NomZ both getting ready for Saturday. Except he's in Cali and gonna total like 250-300lbs more than me lol

hyde prefers his meat to come in hot.

Mainly the sausage :food:

Rolled everything out, then went in tonight and did 4 sets or so each of the Big 3, 135/105/205 weights being used respectively. Felt like the weight was too light to even really practice, but it moved some blood. Hammers, shoulder & pec crap after, all trivial and restorative.

Nanaberry E9 in 12 ounce milk w/ a scoop of chocolate isolate.....legit btw. Prob 50g carbs total today, mainly lean protein and avocado today w/ some oats & milk pre w/o (along w/ a lot of isolate). Starting to get my weight set up for Fri morning.

Hyde what does your day look like on lift day?

Before weigh in then between weigh in and lift?

Coached a couple clients through this but never for PL

Hyde what does your day look like on lift day?

This is how it looks for me:

I cut off food/water 16-24 hours out to make weight. I'm not interested in cutting more than those easy 5-10lbs, but things like saunas, hot baths, & water pills/diuretics are tactics some use. I like to weigh as soon as possible - 9am on Friday this time. As soon as I'm off the scale, I'm getting in watered down gatorade. From there, it's literally consume as much water, carbs, calories and salt I can get through the day (and an extra 10g of creatine mono). You want glycogen maxed & carrying as much water weight as possible. Think michelin man. Sugars are not only perfectly acceptable, but the only way you're going to get 600g carbs in. Good luck eating that in rice alone. Word of caution: your stomach is going to be shrunk down, so pace yourself, and try to limit fats so you don't get so full you can't keep eating.

Just rest and consume all day/evening, til bed. Morning of the lift, eat as close to the meet as you dare, and as much as you know won't be an issue. Only eat what you know you train well on; this should look like a slightly larger preWO meal if you can stomach it.

Ladies (and lower weight classes in general) always go first, and I'm usually in the 3rd flight of 4 with the 220lb guys, so I just need to be cool til they're done. Then flight 2 begins and I start warming up. I'll take a preWO drink mixed with BCAAs & lots of water here. Then it's on to the platform after flight 2 finishes, and as soon as my 3rd attempt is over it's time to eat again. I'm never hungry, but I'll force myself to drink a shake with isolate & gatorade and consume some kind of additional solid food. Cliff bars & bananas w/ pb are my go to fuel sources, as are almonds. I'll repeat this meal after bench, but only some isolate after deadlift (because I'll be eating a big dinner in a couple hours and lifting is through). I also repeat the preWO/bcaa drink prior to each warmups. I've always consumed at least 1.5 gallons of water during the meet alone.

When it's all said and done, you just feel cashed out. Being nervous since you wake up, adrenaline surging all day, maxing out (often to failure) multiple times in one day, and running stims/staying on full blast all day just leaves you spent, and often things start aching/back starts growling. Last time my pec and shoulder were bad too and had to sleep funny. Never drive yourself home, unless it's to your hotel close by. No matter how much sleep you get, you'll still be tired the following afternoon.

^ woah nice run down Hyde

Interesting to see the PL side of this
