Inactive from Surgery-Calorie Deficit or Maintenance

So, I'm going to be having double sports hernia surgery in a few weeks and will be out of the gym for about 4-6 weeks. 2 weeks only walking, 2 weeks light cardio, then ramp back up.

I'm about 10% bodyfat and in the middle of a lean bulk. I was thinking I'd go into a deficit during the inactive period just to try to lose a little fat but wasn't sure if this would hit my muscle hard compared to if I kept cals at maintenance.

Any help/opinions are appreciated.

I would stay at maintenance (calculated with the lack of activity) just to help maintain muscle and allow your body the nutrients it needs to heal.

I'm with Kat on this one - if you'd eat to build muscle - you're definitely going to want to eat to recover from surgery.
