I've been told no chalk but I responded with... Tell it to the guy who said I could when he sold me my membership.

Also, as long as you're respectful and clean up after yourself, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Yeah, I just prefer real chalk. Perhaps it's a mental thing.

I like the chalk too. I try not to use any unless I have to tho.
 
Yes... I should've had more reps on the 145. I stalled half way up and tried to reset on the chest, but no-gp. I may have squeezed one more out on 115 but I wasn't pushing it. It was also beltless.

Damn so it was ur 5s day right? maybe u should reset ur max?? Sometimes it's just technique by keeping a solid base from ur legs up to ur lats. I basically lat spread, brace my core, squeeZe the glutes and boom everything is locked in. I like to warm up with some pull ups to activate the lats and put blood in my arms to help the bar feel lighter.

I haven't been warming up my lats, maybe I should.

I should've been able to hit 5 at least on those. I even waited 5 min before that set.


A couple weeks ago I asked in here if I should adjust it but someone said to just keep going. This week I did some OHP on my bench day also. I'll see what happens on singles week and possibly reset.
 
Yea finish up the cycle and to see what was the main cause and go from there. Maybe u were just fatigued from pressing twice this week.

No. However, I rarely see anyone squatting in squat-specific shoes. Is that what you use?

No was curious about them. My daughter who goes to a real gym said a few of the 'bigger' guys wear them.

I hate chucks, tried em for a while just never felt right in em. I wear my oly shoes for every lift now.

I hope I don't feel that way...

I don't really have anything great to compare them to, though. I've never worn lifting shoes.

It's a US Army Medic Ruck Sack, an the entire inside is loaded with bands. I have inserts that don't fit because of the bands. Lol
 
Yeah I went from squatting in like Nike frees to my oly shoes and it's night and day difference. Any thing with a solid sole is good but the heel helps for someone with a narrower stance like me.
 
I see a lot of people wearing vibrams at my health club gym. Nobody setting any world records or anything in them, but I really don't think it matters as long as you feel comfy & strong in what you're wearing. I tried chucks because all the guys pulling 700 off blocks at this strongman gym wore them, and many could bench at least 450 raw - that was all I needed to try em lol. Anyway, the even surface and stability was a big improvement over tennis shoes or like a trail/active shoe, so I've never looked back. Love em and use em for everything; going on 2 years with the same pair and no appreciable wear.

They say Sambas are actually more ideal for most raw squatters (besides a heeled Oly shoe); Chucks actually are better for very wide/sumo stances. But again, if you're comfy and getting results I say do what you like.

I love my vibrams! Well, not in this damn rain! I like them better than chucks, Adidas, and barefoot! Oh and I like them because I don't have to look for socks!

Wanted to break their arms off.

Anyone ever had this happen? Know the cause?

strange never had this happen to me but it could be caused by a strained tendon when griping the bar.

Sucks u missed the lift. You'll get it next time around. Work back up to that weight gradually the next few weeks and it'll be there man. I try to keep the singles with one more in the tank. I won't completely max unless I'm 100% I'll get it. But solid pressing man progress looks good!
