I read a theory today that said the Seahawks were betting on the pats using one of their two time outs that they had remaining but got flustered when they didnt so they hastily ran a passing play to either punch it in or to stop the clock which was down to 20 something seconds. Due to the fact that the Pats had three corners on the field Belichick was banking on the Seahawks trying to pass the ball to stop the clock instead of running it which if it didn’t go in would have rushed the Hawks into passing anyway. It is the most logical reasoning I have read thus far and I could see Belichick playing a chess match like that.
