1500 is steep, as you go up in price all that is really changing is the electronic interface and control options.
Mine was 500, warranted 4 years in-home service, has MP3 input & speakers, more programs than I use, and has treated me well 2 years so far
As long as you follow the recommendations to lubricate the belt and align the track every 6 months I see no reason a mid-range treadmill wouldn't last you years
Does it have to be new? There is a warehouse here that buys used gym equipment, refurbishes them, and sells them for cheaper. For $ 1500 you could prob buy anything you want.
Picked up a 1100 dollar treadmill for my GF 2weeks ago for 50 bucks. Very little miles/use so it's practically brand new.

I'm all about Craigslist with gym equipment. Usually not too hard to find a gym quality model with low miles for cheap, if you are patient. For my cardio, I bought an Octane elliptical that is about 3k new for $800 delivered and assembled. Turns out the thing is practically brand new.
Bro I live in a town of less than 6k and yeah there's nothing here but a 30-60min drive and I'm surrounded by used equipment for sale.
You can't expect to just hit CL and find a treadmill 6 houses down.
