HBCD & EAA/Peptapro log. Breezy & DW journey to ELITE

I'll train 7 days a week probably but only 4, maybe 5 will be split into two sessions.

I'll probably take my full does with the "Heavy" session for that day, not the pump.

I wouldn't get to hype on the two a day just yet. You still have a lot of time to grow in a traditional way. These gains you made recently have been great and no need to reinvent the wheel in your situation. You starting to wok with Breezy will accelerate your progress ten fold.

When you get to 180-190 (I say that bc you're shorter) then divy into the more advanced and complex training methods.

My schedule and recovery lend greatly in my favor for a split like this, it's not for everyone. It may not be for me, but I want to give it a whirl.

thanks for the kind words brother that means alot, motivated mebig time.

i actually had to do a two-a-day today, i had a deadlift session this morning and then had to head out for a Dr's appt then finishing work. about to refuel now and head out to finish back, and then having a nice cheat meal of chinese.

so i guess we'll see how it treats me, but you're right, definitely no need to do this all the time

I planed on hitting legs tonight, but wouldn't have had the time to get everything accomplished. A quick arm session was done instead. Pumps and vascularity were pretty intense with High volume used pre.

Here's a triceps exercise from tonight's session:

I got in a couple solid sessions this weekend. Yesterday was legs, and chest/shoulders was today. I had a great training partner for legs, which brought the intensity to a very high level.

I finally feel like I'm getting back to normal. My appetite is coming back, which is a huge plus with my current caloric intake. Either way, I'm looking forward to a little less food when I start prep next month.

breezy or distilled you guys ever try occlusion training?

if so, do regular wrist wraps work for wraps or do you get something specific

I think there's a few occlusion training videos in this log, along with an explanation of how its done. There are more in my other log as well. Either way, its not something I add to every session (unless due to injury) and I typically use it at the end of a workout.

Here's a basic approach:

4 rounds of 15 reps (first round can be 15-30) with 30 seconds between each. Keep wraps on until all 4 rounds are complete

You can use wraps. Bands work as well. I've used pro minis for legs/arms and micro minis for arms/calves.

haha okay, i'll give it a shot

don't think the bands would work for me #ForeverSmall

Bands could work for anyone if tightened properly in the right place. You wrap them around and tighten, not just stick your arm/leg through the middle. :)

Here's arms with micro minis

And it doesn't take much weight at all to be effective. The 1st round or 2 might not seem tough, but it'll creep up on you pretty fast.

Make sure the wraps aren't too wide also.

Lol did three sets... Feel like I trained triceps for 3 hours.

I did arms the other day and BFR on triceps and biceps. Arms felt so freakin pumped and full of blood it was redonkulous.

I trained legs last night and chest/shoulders tonight, both were secondary/pump sessions.

Here's what I did for legs:

Leg Extensions
300 rep extended set

Abductor
4 sets of 10

-felt great on very pumped quads

Adductor
4 sets of 10

Leg Press / Sissy Squats
4 sets of 10 / 6-8 + 5 singles, 5 partials, 10 sec iso-hold on final set

leg press: feet low on platform about a foot apart with toes pointed out (duck stance) / slow eccentric / pause at bottom / constant tension / focus on vastus lateralis

sissy squats: These are brutal, especially as a part of a superset. I started with sets of 8 but could barely manage 6 by the 3rd set. The 4th set included additional singles, partials, and an iso-hold

3rd set:

Lying Leg Curls

6 sets of 8

Lol idk what emotions higher, excitement or fear when we start working together lol. Those sissy squats look brutal, especially in a super set, and partials, and an Iso hold... Sick session bro

Breezy.. what kind of tempo are you using on that 300 rep extended set... or are you just firing up and down? 300...blows my mind

Thanks man. There's nothing to be afraid of. :)

I get into a nice rhythm with a flex at the top. A good portion of the reps are knocked out at the beginning, but the mini-sets get brutal and the reps drop considerably by the end. An IFBB Pro at my gym loves them and recommended I start adding them in. He's also one of the biggest humans I've ever seen and did 315x39 on stiff-legged deads (constant tension) a couple days ago lol.

going heavy on stiffs doesn't work for me, i'm trying to work my way to feeling it at heavier weights. 205 is the highest i've gone and be able to feel it in my hams

i have to leave the ego at home

Ironically the IFBB pro breezy works out with, competed with an IFBB pro I workout with and even my IFBB pro friend says breezy's boy is a "fukcing cartoon character big"

Yeah, find a new "heavy". When actually working a target muscle efficiently, heavy isn't the same as when you're "moving" weight.

That's probably the biggest thing I've picked up from you. Who gives a **** if or what you can "lift" , its more about targeting and training the muscle.

Having and building decent strength is a good idea too. Just be smart about it.

Had an awesome back pump session Thursday followed by a brawl at the bar Thursday...don't worry ladies and gents, the money maker came out untouched but my hand and AC joint...little sore today. Hopefully it won't hinder back tomorrow :fingerscrossed:

Here's the awesome upper back workout. 1 big giants set

Hammer Shrugs
15 reps

Supported T-bar row
12 reps

CG seated rows
8 reps

High face pulls w black band
12 reps

5 rounds. My upper back felt awesome, really isolated where I lag the most on thickness

Wanted to post this, something from Matt Porter from over 2 years ago. Pay clove attention to the last snippet. Thing was from his off season journal

Some strange issues have occurred...

After -3 weeks on this nutrient timed diet -- of proteins and heavier fats in first half of day ---> with all simple carbs crammed into my system post workout and reaching high macro numbers (well, at least for my weaker appetite) --- I lost weight.

4300-5300 cals average and 150 + g fats and 350-450g carbs and my body stays in condition......

I know that I now must some what 'force the food' and I don't mean screwing up my digestion royally, but using ALL macros during the ENTIRE course of the day.

Carbs will be eaten from waking to sleeping --- fat will be thrown in the equation for boosting calories. Namely Extra virgin EVO's raw coconut oils.

I damn sure will still strive to ALWAYS eat my 6 whole cage--free eggs w/ grass fed butter in the morning.

I will lose come conditioning but I am willing to do so for muscle accrual.

I really have a strong feeling about Carb Back Loading NOT being even remotely optimal for utmost muscle mass accrual....not even close.

Perhaps for slower metabolism type of people, but for anyone that has substantial muscle mass and a good metabolic rate -- DO NOT 'GET CUTE' WITH SUCH A DIET PLAN. Extremist will want the absolute quickest ticket to gaining LBM in minimal time and while new diet regimens are interesting and fun,,,,, they wont be whats truly best for the GOAL at hand.

If you are 170-190 lbs and 5 '10" -6 foot then CBL, IF'ing , TKD's etc... could be all that you ever need to have fun with an organized program which makes people stay interested, and allows you to get some results in regard to muscle gain and minimizing fat etc...

For advanced guys that wish to push the envelope -- there will be NO FASTING, NO CARB RESTRICTIONS and you better be eating wise fat choices.

Lol guilty as charged for my previous practices. Tried IF, and CBL. Woke the **** up lol and seeing m best results not being a carbophobe

same here. And I agree with the article as I've also found that eating all/most of my carbs at night allows me to stay leaner but would make it harder to gain at a certain point.

Good read. What isn't mentioned is that the carbs all day approach only happens for a certain amount of time, depending on several factors (could be 3-4 weeks). Another thing to remember is that he's not saying that eating carbs in every meal is a must for all trainees who are trying to gain weight; he's speaking more to those with a lot of LBM and a good metabolism. It can be highly individual.

Porter, Meadows, and Ami roundtable had a good talk about this on the Geard podcast.

Yeah, that was a good one. I saw Mcvey posted that the Doug Miller interview went up yesterday too.

Yep. Listened to that as well (had a 7 hour drive lol). I just download a bunch of podcasts and listen as I drive.

But I enjoyed the Doug Miller interview.
