Controlled Labs Stimino is a versatile pre-workout containing several amino acids with a stimulant (caffeine). With a large enough amount of the branched chain amino acid leucine, this product is a great pre to take fasted in my opinion. Lucky for me, I usually do train in the morning after waking, so for the most part I will be training fasted. Betaine anhydrous, taurine, and caffeine round the super simple, great formula out, with performance in mind.

At the end of the log I'll post my thoughts but my initial thoughts after two workouts is that I enjoy and feel great using two scoops pre. That's 5 grams of leucine, 3 grams of TMG, 2 grams of taurine, and 250mg of caffeine. The taste is fine, I can sip or chug it without a problem, as opposed to some which make the back of my throat burn from the high amounts of flavoring added. It mixes well, with no residue at the bottom with about 13 oz of water. The powder is quite fine and almost looks instantized.

I started my log last night with a squat workout. I wasn't expecting anything too great, because I had just finished my 12 hour shift in the behavioral health unit, doing what you'd expect. However I honestly felt a nice smooth energy rush throughout the workout, and was able to get through it just fine.

I did highbar squats 5x5 along with some light core work. I'll throw up a video that I took to form-check from my second set. Like I mentioned, the workout went well and I didn't feel as fatigued as I probably would have been going in without drinking stimino before-hand. First thoughts are a thumbs up. Also I want to mention the drink was very easy to stomach with NO discomfort for the 3g of betaine.
 
I just realized I have to idea how to put up a video I took on my phone. I'll hopefully get it figured out.

I have been considering morning workouts with college taking most of my day past 9am. Been wondering what pre would be a good fit for this, Stimino sounds like a good pick.
 
Back day

2 scoops stimino pre workout (40 min)

Woke up, took pre, waited a few min the headed to the gym. It was back day and I felt ready to go as soon as I walked in the gym.

Lat pull downs

150 x 5
170 x 5
210 x 5
210 x 5
210 x 5

Basically most my lifts are working sets 5x5 keeping the weight the same. Moving up a set amount each workout if I am able to compete all 5 sets. Next week I will be attaching an extra weight to the machine because I felt strong doing 5 x5 at 210.

Seated cable rows

100 x 5
150 x 5
210 x 5
5x5 again.

I will be moving up on this exercise next week too. Sometimes I like to vary it up and go for bb rows or db rows so we will see.

Db curls

5x5 again. I will be using the 60s next week, as my gym has no 55 lb dbs and the 50s felt quite easy.

Overall had a very satisfying workout. Pump isn't completely amazing, but I never expected too much with this formula. Strength and endurance are very nice and I am excited to continue using the pre and experience the benefits of the ingredients over time.

Overall a nice workout. Able to keep energy up and finish all my sets no problem.

Nice workout. I will admit I was chasing a pump near the end and was a little disappointed. realistically though I don't expect too much of a pump anyways.

Updates!

Chest:

So I've been stalling on chest for some reason. I'm not sure why. It could be due to dips that have been thrown in, putting some pressure on my shoulders, so I decided to take them out for a little while, and add chest flyes.

Anyway

Bench press
245 I went for volume this time. I did sets of three and four reps, totaling 30 reps

Incline DB press
I reach 1210lbs for working sets
3 sets of 5 reps, last set to failure

Machine fly
Weight is irrelevant, but the machine reads 200. 3 sets of 12

Some rope triceps ext for a finisher for the triceps, 3 sets of 12, focusing on contraction.
 
Did an arm day.

It's pretty wild but my arms are the thing that have improved the most during the course of this log.

I started with DB curls
working sets of 60 lbs 3 sets of 8

OH DB triceps ext
working set of 110lb 3x8

DB Preacher hammers
35lb working sets 3 sets 10

Straight bar cable push downs
stack reads 60, did 3 sets of 10

One small thing I have noticed that is slightly different that most pre workouts I have taken, is I am able to recover quicker workout to workout.
 
Lack of updates on here are for having to work a bit more than anticipated. But the workouts are still getting done.
 
Haha yes life happens. I got pretty ill which for some reason happens whenever I try a new pre workout? Anyway I'm feeling stronger than before i got sick lol so I'm hoping to put in a super heavy high volume leg day

Hey guys long time no see. I have some updates.

Legs



I am not the strongest guy but I was able to pr 275 the other night so that's exciting for me.

I've also reduced the dosing to one scoop mahbe 1.5 pre workout. For some reason I have been getting more energy with less. Anyway on to the updates.

For legs I have been doing squats still 5x5 working sets. I wasn't seeing much improvement until last workout I did 2 days ago. The weights I had been working with felt real real light, so I decided to do two reps every time I increased te weight by 10 lb. got up to 275 and did a quick rep and it felt really easy actually, but I never really max out on anytbing so I didn't want to push myself too hard and hurt anytbing. Anyways seeing as how easy that was, I may try 315 in a month and see how it goes.



Arms



My arms keep growing and won't stop. It seems every workout I'm able to add a rep to my lifts. I'll be getting 30 reps total of 60lb db curls 40 reps with the db overhead triceps extension. Flexed arms look great right now.



Chest


Chest has been pretty much plateaued for the last few workouts. Last chest day I decided to exhaust and see how I recovered and the next season didn't go well. Tomorrow is chest day so we will see if it paid off. If not it's no big deal. Anyway to put some numbers to my words, flat bb is still 245x5 and inclined db is 110x6ish :(

Stimino by Controlled Labs
Profile is very simple, with only ingredients proven to be effective. Dosing at two scoops which I recommend gives you optimal amounts of each ingredient. 5 grams if leucine, 3 grams of TMG, 2 grams of taurine, and 250mg of caffeine is what you get at two scoops which will also get you through 30 workouts. There is no reason to dive into why the panel is great, which it is.
The product shines as a fasted pre workout I think. I almost exclusively used this in the morning after waking, and sometimes before work in the morning. One thing to keep in mind is that some people have trouble with TMG as far as stomach issues, so if you do feel a hint of unease, it is the betaine, which I have heard does go away after using the ingredient for a week or so. The 250mg of caffeine at two scoops is on the low side of most pre workouts for sure, which may turn some people off who love the feeling of being cracked out. For me, I enjoy the clean boost I get from the 250mg. I used only stimino for my workouts and once or twice used glycergrow, another product by controlled labs which has GMS in it. I actually enjoyed the workouts without the glycergrow for some reason in the morning.
The taste of fruit punch would probably rank in the middle of the road from the numerous other fruit punch flavored workout drinks. Definitely not overpowering one bit, which I personally like. There is no super sweet or bitter taste, just pretty smooth.
The fine powder also mixes quite well, leaving nothing behind. I did consume the stimino with varied amounts of liquid ranging from 5 oz to 20 oz. Personally I had a better workout with 20 oz of water, which I attribute to the fasted state I was in, I was probably craving fluids.
This is your prototypical basic workout drink, done right.
