How do i make my calves grow!

It's annoying as ****, I already workout legs twice a week and I always try to do calves at the end, I start heavy and then usually burnout with a broken set of 100 reps, I usually try to go as heavy as possible with my legs right now struggling with 315 for 5 on squats, my quads and hammies are growing, but no matter what I do I have tiny ass calves. It makes it look like I skipped leg days and I never do! Any advice/tips?

IMO for the most part you got what you got. Unless there is alot of science being done on you your stuck... Yes they can grow but not much.

Iv read that guys say to beat them up 2x wk and have also where guy say work them every day.

I know it's not the answer your lookin for but it's what I got. Unless someone else wants to chime in on this....

I knw a few of my friends who works it out religiously with high reps and heavy sets but my calves are still bigger. I never train them and I have to agree with above. You got what you got. Genetics does play a big role

If it makes u feel any better I'm weak ass hell on my squats. :(

Genetics play a large part certainly, but given personal experience, I'm a huhe advocate for at least twice a week, but train them like a muscle, not an after thought. You mention doing them at the end, why not train them first? Have you ever done a set of calf raises and then deadlifts or squats? Try it, you'll really feel your calves and give them extra stimulus. Also, you cant just do standing, donkey, or leg press calf raises. You need to do seated as well to get the soleus to grow, which in turn helps bring out your gastrocs. I may not be the biggest guy at my gym, (and as pompous as this sounds) I have the best calves in my gym. One thing that really helped, I read an article by Kris Gethen, and he advocated doing standing body weight raises after doing weighted excersises. I do that a lot now, and it may burn like a MF, but it's quite effective.

Genetics are huge with calves, but you can overcome that. I grew mine from 16" weaklings to 18.5" through a ton of work and consistency. My very simple routine:

2x week
15 x 4 standing calf
15 x 4 seated
jump rope intervals

1x week
5 x 4 horizontal calf
5 x 4 seated

You have to remember that you are on your calves all the time and unless you are absolutely destroying them (I've walked away with tears in my eyes many times), they don't grow very well. You can't half ass calf workouts.

^ This. If you're your calves aren't burning during and after your sets, and they're not tired at the end of workout, mission failed.
