I had to google those push-ups. I need to try those this week.

Solid WO. Is that DL/S/B?

Got some good painless work in today, will post the instagram links after I get the videos on IG.

Thanks man, finally starting to put together some good days in the gym.

Thursday 10-2-2014 Shoulders

Strict OHP: 115 x 8, 115 x 6, 95 x 8 x 2

Rear Delt Swings: 20 x 20 x 5

Seated DB OHP (backless): 50 x 10 x 2

Lateral Raise: 15 x 12 x 4

Tri Pushdown: 50 x 25, 50 x 15--10, 40 x 25 x 2

Weights were a little lighter today, had some discomfort in the left shoulder when starting off and the rest periods were shorter to get this done (had a late start). All in all I knocked it all out in 65 minutes, so we were flying. The strict OHP and the pushdowns are all that were really effected weight wise, was able to go a little bit heavier on the seated OHP today though.

Woke up a little late yesterday and wasn't really feeling like trying to fit a workout in, so I did it today.

Sat-10-4-14: Back

Pendlay Row: 135 x 8 x 4

Low Facepull: Black x 20, Purple x 20 x 3

Chin-ups: BW x 10 x 2, BW x 9 x 2

Kroc Rows: 100 x 17

BB Curl: 45 x 60

Pretty good workout overall, didn't really have any discomfort with the back today at all. The pendlay rows were fast, chin-ups were not. Tried the kroc rows, didn't hurt at all with those. I did strap up (the oly db handle doesn't really have any knurling) and it smoked out my core more than anything else. Probably from trying not to blow my back out lol.

Very nice. Good numbers for no back pain/discomfort. 60x curls, really!? Lol

Woke up late today, only had 45 minutes to get this done (about to hop in the shower and leave straight for work)>

Mon-10-6-14 : Bench (220TM)

CG Bench:
185 x 1
165 x 8
165 x 8
165 x 8
165 x 8
165 x 8

DB Bench:
62 x 20
62 x 16
62 x 14
(50 Total)

Joe D Pushup:
BW x 10
Partner Resist x 7
PR x 4
Red Band x 6
BW x 8

Note: Partner resist is with your partner trying to push you into the ground on the negative, and resisting it until you explode up. They are hard. Red band was just with a band looped over my back.

Hit another PR today with my squats (post injury obviously), had some tightness I couldn't really get out before training but it didn't really hurt while squatting so I'm not really worried about it. Ran out of time today though, so I'll do what I couldn't get done tomorrow morning.

Anyway, 10-7-14 Squat

Back Squat:
Bar x 5
95 x 5
135 x 3
185 x 1
225 x 1
275 x 1
195 x 1
165 x 5
165 x 5
165 x 5
165 x 5
165 x 5

 Things are looking up right now, going to figure out how many weeks of training I have before starting meet prep for the competition in December. Hopefully, the wife will have closed the gap on that WPC WR Deadlift this year.

Also, question for you guys. Looking at getting a new pair of squat shoes for myself, but first I need to get my wife a pair. For me, I've looked at the Nike and Reebok options (I lean towards reebok because it has more flex at the toe box for strongman stuff, but tons of guys use the Nike's and don't have any issues). But what I really wonder is if I need to look at something specific for my wife, she's only 5'5" so I can't imagine she would need a real tall hee, and I know Reebok has the women's crossfit shoes with the heel that is supposed to be a littler smaller. Any of you guys know if those would be worth a purchase?

Id check out the Reeboks for your wife for sure. Maybe Risto if she's not doing strongman stuff. They do custom work. My VS's have a moderate heal. Maybe see if they carry woman's?

The strongman guys at my gym are wearing Reebok and Pendlays.

Adidas powerlifts and rogue doo wins have moderate heels and aren't priced too high

That's what I was leaning for because they have the women's shoes with the smaller heel.

They're 1/2" heels, right?

The INNOV8 Fast lifts are only like 150.00

Pretty sure 1/2

Yup they're pretty new and aimed at crossfit but I picked some up for the station and I like them so far. Better than a nickel under the heel

The heel is entirely solid but it's not like s boot like the Adidas are. It's like a mix between a tennis shoe and a lifting shoe

Had some soreness in the back that I couldn't work out yesterday, it didn't hurt when I started putting a little weight on the bar but I still shut it down early with the warmups.

Having some pain today, hopefully this doesn't become an issue.

Good to see you're making progress, Jim, or Jeff.

Hope that soreness goes isn't a sticking issue too.

You said something like only immediate family members called you James so I thought I'd be more respectful and call you Jeff. This is confusing...

OK, just got a workout in today. Pretty good shoulders work, had some fun with it too.

Thursday : Shoulders

BTN Press:
95 x 3
115 x 2
135 x F
95 x 8
105 x 8
105 x 8
105 x 8

Wanted to get some easy over warmups in, but 135 got too slow and I decided not to grind out a "warmup" lol. Sets were pretty easy, had some discomfort in the left shoulder that I was trying to work out with this movement, it's a little better now but still some deep soreness.

Rear Delt Pullapart:
Doubled Red x 20
Doubled Red x 20
Doubled Red x 20
Doubled Red x 20
Doubled Red x 20

1 Arm DB OHP:
50 x 10
50 x 10

Front Raise:
30 x 12
30 x 12
30 x 12

Band Pushdown:
AVG x 25
AVG x 25
AVG x 25
AVG x 25

Did these a little different, stepped about 2 feet back from the bar that the band was attached to. Explosively pressed down, hold for 1-2 seconds, come back up to the starting position. Fighting the upward and forward pull of the band at the bottom was rough.

Finally gonna update my workout from yesterday, didn't have any soreness but had a burning pain (very mild) a couple inches to the right of where the pain has been since the injury. It wasn't a huge issue, barely noticeable honestly, but still there.

So, not sure what that's about.

Anyway, Friday: Back Work

Pendlay Row: 135 x 8 x 4

Meadows Shrug: 53 x 20 x 4

WG pulldown: 120 x 10 x 3, 120 x 9

BB Curl: Bar x 100

Notes: Curls were done without dropping the bar, knocked out 30 and then starting pumping out sets of 10 to finish. Rested at the bottom, every so often I would have to squat down, and take some of the weight off of my hands (the forearm pump though) so that I could re-grip the barbell and finish. They sucked, and now my biceps are sore.

Starting meet prep next week, should be mailing out entries later this week.

Edit: jeezus, I forgot how damn expensive these things are.

How much are they, on average?

Are you doing PL or a strongman again?
