Sean's Powerlifting Journey

I hate when stuff like that happens....I keep an excel with all my passwords because I have too many everywhere. :o

With advent of "must provide a password with both capital and lowercase letters, along with numbers, while containing no likeness to your email/username" an excel is a must.

Haha I gotta change my work one every like 2 months it changes by 1 number each time lol.

Okay I was able to browse through it. It's well written and not confusing and contradicting from what I've seen (10/20/Life and Cube seemed that way in a few areas)

He has 3 programs. Raw, Raw w/accomodating resistance, and Geared. There's quite a bit of box squatting and block pulls.

Interesting. Makes me more envious of Lou since he's front and center with the man.

Almost seems to me with as much knowledge as u possess Sean that u could pretty much make your own setup and still make excellent progress

Eh not so much with programming. If I don't stick to something, then I automatically stick chains on it and go too heavy lol Which is kinda why I like Schwabs program haha

He also used a projected max instead of lowered training max.

I have the exact same problem with doing volume work. I start to get bored and want to push everything after a month or so.

I know I program jump a bit but I don't care. I'll give this a whirl after the meet. I don't feel too confident with what I've been doing so far for this meet. Hopefully that changes this week with the increased intensity.

You've a big increase in time at work, right? That'll jack up training for awhile.

Yeah summers blow at work bigtime. It's finally slowed down this week so hopefully things kick into gear with training. 5 weeks out. Will have to modify training days a bit. I can't pull that heavy at work so I'll be pulling a day early (Sunday). Or box squat... we will see.

Confirmed, I'm getting out in a year and a half. All I'm gonna do is lift.

You're pretty good at autoregulating at this point and know how to work the kinks out of the hips and shoulders.

Hopefully this deload week did what it was intended to do, otherwise my goals don't seem too reachable based on the last training week.

My biggest worry now is this god damn finger lol I can close my hand now so I might be good to pull with straps.

One of many reasons to be envious of the man, for certain. Will read tonight.

That's how some other programs are. Use a percentage if what you feel your max is THAT day

Certainly would be easier to account for life. Some days you lift like sh*t and some days you could bend a bar in half. I was all excited for my heavy deadlift day the previous monday, because that's my "strongest day" normally. Everything felt like it had another 50lbs on it; terrible workout and an absolute battle to hit all the programmed numbers and volume.

Those days always happen.

But I've had whole weeks like that, so all I'm saying is don't judge your training program by one sh*tty week. Be confident in your abilities; they didn't vanish overnight.

Has anyone used Demiurge or Pheynylpiracetam? I picked some up because it sounded cool.

Yes. And you got conned lol. Me and a buddy went in on a BOGO offer at NP a good while back. Both of us felt that there wasn't a marked difference from 2 to 3 caps, and dosing even as high as 6 caps yielded no further results over 3 (which AL basically states if you google it, but we wanted to test the waters).

I always took 3 because it seemed a tad better than 2. It did increase my focus, truly. But it doesn't feel anything like caffeine, dmaa, dmae, amp, synephrine, yohimbe (if you can call that trash a stim), ephedra. It's extremely subtle, like a feeling of clarity to go about what needs doing.

It can only help your gym performance, but don't expect it to make a difference like caffeine or keep you awake if you're tired either. Not worth the pricetag.

Eh got it for 20 bucks. Im not looking for a stimulant effect. Just looking specifically for increased focus. I ran out of caffeine free focus XT.

Might as well babble about what I'm taking:
-Myosynergy
-Norcodrene in the AM
-Green Magnitude
-SNS Cissus
-Purple Wraath/Amino IV
-Enchiladas

Yeah we payed something like that. I mean it's the price of focus xt caff free (which I've sampled) more or less, and should yield similar results if you've got the cash to blow.

I've been loving AminoIV lately. Went thru a tub of cherry lime and now into a tub of blueberry. Most noticeable bcaa sup I think I've ever used.

Green Mag mixed with Cinnamon protein like Gaspari or Dymatize's = apple pie pre or postWO shake. Thank me later.

Damn that's a good idea. I'm on watermelon now though. Maybe I'll mix it with Gold Feast

A guy I workout with used to workout with him a long time ago said he is a hell of a squatter I may pick it up and run it while I can't train with the crew instead of 5-3-1

Ohh I was under the impression that by projected max you meant the number you wanted to hit at the end of the training cycle.

I was only using an example of other programs that don't use a lowered training max like 5/3/1. Shoulda clarified, sorry.

In his book he just says base your percentages off of a 25lb projected max to use throughout the training cycle. So, slightly differs from both scenarios I suposse.

That what I shoot for on my competition lifts right now. I think it is a good idea as long as its realistic of course.

Bull**** lightweight upper :(

Half-kneeling Landmine Press

Hell no. Worst wrap of my life. Had a guy crank down on it hard. Then used a light band to distract. I pulled against the band as well and felt my rear delt open up from it.

I feel like a big switch turned on and I'm feeling great.

Warmup
Lax mash glutes & calves
Goblet squats
BSS
Overhead band resisted squats

Safety Squat Bar Foam Box Squat
-Parallel
-Sumo stance
-Using deadlift numbers
512x1
512x1
542x1
572x1 w/ reverse bands

Suspended Safety Squat Bar Good Morning
292x3
332x3
332x3

Front Squat
-w/ Harness
315x8
315x8
365x5

I should have used monster mini's for the 572. Suspended SSB GMs are death. I really like that squat harness.

That harness looks awkward...

You got in some serious freaking work today, man. That harness is great for situations like yours. A few guys at my gym use it.

Thanks, man. Just need to be able to carry this intensity through next week, too.

It's a cool rig. I hated it last time. Didn't know what to do with my hands lol
