I got this stupid idea to go into the 198 weight class as I hold more muscle there and from the last meet I'd be more competitive. Funny thing is I am going RPS novemeber(was wnpf) with guys from the gym and the guys at the gym alone are much stronger. Kinda silly. At the same time I had a lot of body fat going on which I don't want.

Thats the way I was thinking up till the meet then after I decided why am I worrying about where I place, I have never been this strong in my life and I'm alway getting stronger as long as I'm get better and my personal number are going up I'm happy if at some point I beat something so be it. I'm going to get to 210 and stay there

Yea like I don't expect to win or anything...especially at my next meet where I know some really strong mofos there. That said, is like to get there less fat. I know I wasn't fat, but I had some jiggle to my wiggle nomsayin :D
 
Just get to a solid 198. Losing the weight sucks now but once you get to a lower % you can maintain there and get stronger again. We all have those spells where lifts feel bad. My pulls felt awful this week then I killed squat PRs and I felt terrible before going into the gym. Just keep plugging away and working smart. Don't worry about winning just keep stacking up PRs man!

Didn't mean it like bro don't ever think that u aren't capable of doing great things

just ment focus on yourself and your number/training at a weight your comfortable at. And believe me I know all about jiggle lol it sucks
 
You never looked comfortable from the unrack. You can't tell from that particular angle if it's an upper back issue (I know you've battled tightness in that area previously).

You know I haven't had a lot if confidence in my walkouts as of late, or positioning of the bar. TBH on this session I had the hooks up a pin higher to see if that helped, but then when I got to 315 it was hard to get in and out so I unloaded it all, moved the hooks down, and reloaded...essentially I feel like I am in a funk on squats and I haven't had that session where it just feels great in awhile and I can't figure it out.

I just have to figure this thing out somehow. Thanks for checking it out Rodja. I'll try and get some more angles next time.
 
Just to add, I ordered some Adidas powerlift 2.0 shoes tonight in an attempt to help. I went to the store, tried on some Rebox ones to feel the heel...proceeded to air squat in the isle like a weirdo, and decided off of that they are worth a try. Then after looking around decided on these based off of two criteria:reviews and cost. If I had 200 that be a different story :D

What brought me to this idea is I feel I am having trouble warming up to get depth and also feel like I am having some trouble staying upright. We shall see.

Good squat - just a little bit of knee cave but you caught it. Really the only thing I would say is, like Rojda, you didn't look that comfortable/confident (I've done it plenty - got a good feel for it now..lol) but the hitting the bar previous set & the pin height surely didn't help matters either.

Could the funk be fatigue/in need of a deload? Definitely weight loss will throw things off (& great job btw!) - I've been trying to get used to a slightly slimmer midsection - throwing off the fit of my belt

The only reason I don't think it is fatigue is I am recovering quite well, the other lifts are fine, and on top of that I feel I am recovering well. I do end up in inbetween spots on the belt some weeks too. I usually suck it up and go a notch lower. It's weak sauce tho

I thought about that buddy haha

It could be. Like I said, I haven't had one "in the zone" squat session with the comp squat in a long while here. Which is crazy bc it was like my strongest lift form wise last cycle before the last meet(maybe tied with dead).

Get some slingshot compression cuffs for those biceps (they're like 20 bucks if I recall correctly). Wear a long sleeve shirt so they don't tear up your skin and they come off easy. I realize it's a bandaid not a cure, but after a few weeks of using them over my biceps on heavy pressing movements (above ~80%) and over my elbows on low bar squats, my pain is pretty much 100% gone. Idk just a suggestion.

Good workout too.

I have the blue ones, I probably should throw them on more with the squat. I know that's what made it a little sore. It's not bad today, just enough to hinder my decent.
 
What are these compression gizmos? Might help with my bicep tendinitis on bench and squat? I'm all ears. Tell me where to get them.

Howmuchyabench.net It's a mark bell product. I find the compression they provide all but eliminates my bicep tendinitis. Make sure you don't get them too tight (but keep in mind they will stretch out over time) so you can take them on/off between sets.

Good work rob. Deads looked easyyyy. And I like the impromptu squat practice, I'm sure it did a lot for your confidence.

How much do you think you get out of your wraps? Just curious.

You have no idea what it did for my confidence haha...especially after that other work. Granted they gotta be a little deeper. And if you see the bar I am using, it has a lot of flex, you can really see the slack get pulled out like I was talking about before.

And honestly...like 15-20lbs. Hard to tell bc I am not great with them...but my squats haven't been great either. My best squat with just a belt was 350 for a max 2. Then comes in whether it is a monolift or not. That adds another 10-20lbs for me.

I haven't maxed without wraps in a long time but I got 350 x 2 in the mono like 6 months ago.

Edit: got 375 x 3 that day in my krait wraps wrapped by someone else at a I thought I was gonna die can't believe I got the third rep max. Guys yelling at me and **** haha.

And thanks. I'm still a ways away from using wraps (I have some RAWWW goals to attend to first). With that said, I'm no expert, but wouldn't you get more out of the wraps if you sped up your descent?

Yes you would, I gotta get a little better with them. It's really a different move with how it feels. In a squat session planned I should have light wrapped the 315 first. I'm still learning it big time though.

I may go raw raw again after this meet for a little bit. I don't want to rely on wraps.

Yeah I don't like to add unnecessary lifting aids. I didn't even wear a belt until I squatted and pulled 315

Hey Rob have your allergies been pretty bad the past few week what have u been taking?

Ephedrine hcl is best, psurdoephedrine is 2nd. Everything else sucks...unless you have access to albuterol breathing treatments haha.

Go to cvs/riteaid/pharmacy and it is the stuff that you need to show ID for to purchase. Highly recommend looking. If you can get bronkaid or store brand it is cheap too.
