TRT

21 Y/O 6'2 190 lbs @ 7-9 % bodyfat. Just about to end my cut. My testosterone was checked and it was around 180-240. The doctor WILL NOT prescribe me TRT, if you're wondering as to why my test levels are so low, it is because I was anorexic throughout my teenage years(12-18 Y/o) and it ****ed up my endocrine system and it has not brought my test levels back up to par. I was thinking about DIY TRT, but I just wanted to get your opinions first. Also thought about just trying out my first injectable cycle. Thanks in advance.

If you're 21 and your number is 180-240 find another doctor. When I had mine done the doctor told me the bottom of the scale was about 360 I was at 218 so you need to find another doctor that will prescribe. If you can't find someone that will prescribe just do it yourself.

mine was 180 fasted in the morning. Would it be cheaper to DIY it?

I don't think cycling is really gunna help, probably make things worse.

But, if your headed for TRT anyway, what do you have to lose?

I'd personally see another doctor and get a 2nd opinion. Some of the experinced guys on TRT can probably lend you better advice than me however.

I'm gonna see what I can do, It's the price I pay for ****ing up when I was younger. Damn bullies making fun of me when I was fat. LOL

I've had a planned cycle in my head for a good amount of time now, but I have never acted on it.

Best thing to do before DIY is to get the diagnosis, and then go from there, the RX test is cheaper and safer.

I agree with this I went through a similar situation to you (starvation) my body shut down test. I had mid 70's test. You need to find a new doctor, I think there's a negative stigma surrounding trt. You will find a more open minded doctor. Try at all costs to self administer test. You'll be on it for life and that will get expensive if not medically prescribed and insured. Best of luck

I'd prefer to pin every week personally if I was in your shoes..
That's what I was thinking too. But the nurse is the one pinning it. Should I DIY it the week in between, or do you think the dr would notice? Get another blood test In 3 months.

You could but then you wouldn't really be on a TRT dose if she is still going to do it to..

Lab time would reveal elevated levels I'm sure and she may then drop it..

TRT is usually dosed every week from what I have read, but they decided to do it every other week for me. I don't understand. Lol

Doctors do as they wish it seems with TRT..
Some guys will just keep looking for a new doc who understands there reasoning..

I'm doing to because I have a natural T level of 180. Not doing it for gains although it will help,

You need to inject at 1x a week MINIMUM. Most of us are doing 2x @ e3.5d. 100mg a normal weekly dose and it generally goes up from there. Two major things wrong with your current protocol is the low amount and the every other week. You'll end up being more miserable than you are now because 100mg will get you up to the 800-900 range and then drop, so rather than just being low all the time, you will be on a hormonal roller coaster.

So should DIY at 100mg the week in between? Cause the doctor ain't budging.

Sorry for interrupting here but just so in the future these threads are more understandable to me, how does injection compare to Androgel?

Is the Mgs of T equivalent?
Typical Androgel 1% dose yields 50mg daily from my understanding, is that considerably more than this injecting 100 weekly or is it compared differently

Again sorry for interrupting
Once I know these threads will all make a lot mire sense to me

Can you find another doc? The issue is that this doctor obviously doesn't know what they are doing and this is for life. How is he going to operate regarding labs? Will he adjust you based on lab numbers? These are things to consider if you want to move forward this route.

Is DYI an option? Sure, it always is.
