Yeah. Repair/mods/heavy checks. They're trying to double their force. I guess they're turning down tons of contracts due to man power.

That's what we do. We've been growing stupid big in the last year; expansion is almost scary. But we continue to only make more profit each year, so hopefully that doesn't backfire on us. Idc either way....I don't plan to die doing this anyhow :)
 
I agree with Hyde!! That's great! It all seems to be turning out pretty good for you! I hope it continues just to get better and better!
 
Hey guys. Life's getting hectic, may not be around for a few weeks. Working on getting a house and stuff. I'll pop in when I can but I may be getting a few weeks off from the gym since it's over 4 hours round trip to where I'm looking at moving to.
Congrats on the job!!!!! We will be here waiting for sure!

Power company wants to interview me in the city I live in now. Union. Maxes the scale over 40/hr... I accepted the other gig yesterday. Jobs are like women. You apply to 100. 3 or 4 bite and the best one is always the last.

made the gym today. did my "reps" bench day. idk if it was supposed to be today or not i just needed/wanted/missed the gym. its been exactly 7 days and i've definitely had some celebration drinks on the job, birthday drinks for friends, and confused drinks for the interview coming up lol. definitely felt it today is what im getting at.

bench 5x5@75%.. 273.8..i rounded up to 275. honestly that felt light as hell so i paused it for 2 secs

incline db's. 2x23 with 65's. dont ask why but i remember seeing that number in the book for cube.

decline close grip bp 3x8 235

bent row's 3x15

lateral raises 3x12

The rep day is always the "easy" day, main & secondary movement-wise. Lilly's logic being that you can't go balls to the wall every day of the week, over & over, so there should be some moderate days. That being said, he expects you to really lay into the accessory work after it - so by the end you should still feel just as spent as always, just not so beat up hopefully.

And the 2x23....it's 2x20, using a weight you would only possibly get maybe 23 with (your 23RM, if you will). In case you were wondering :sly:

If you don't do 2x20 in incline db presses instead of 2x23, your muscles are going to disappear. Lilly knows man, or he wouldn't have said it. It's science.

speed squats day

little disappointed at the moment. somewhere between squats and rev banded my hip started hurting and locking up badly. mobility just disappeared.

squat 225 (60%) 8 sets of 3. paused in the whole. exploded through the rep.

rev band squat 315 with red bands. 2x2. paused in the hole. last 2 reps hurt so freaking bad in my hip.

was going to front squat 5x5 but my mobility was pretty much gone so i did leg presses. 6 sets of 20 at 280. i added 2 sets and 5 reps per set because of the lack of front squats. these didnt hurt nearly as bad.

leg curls 4x8 4010 reps

ab wheels for 2 sets to fail.
 
I am having the hip issue too! It's very aggravating!!! I hope it feels better! Looks like you still had a killer wo though!! Great job!
 
Sucks about the hip.. hope that doesnt develop into anything on you. How that other interview go?

i dont think it'll be anything more than a little bit of a pain in the ass. the other interview is tuesday morning at 9.
 
If it's the hip flexors, up front, I had to start warming up on the stationary bikes, w/ the seat as far in as it goes & my knees flared out hard to the sides to open my hips while I pedal w/ semi-sideways feet lol. 6-10 min like that gets a lot of nice, warm blood pumped through the hips. Then I do a couple stretches & then a couple BW lunges, pull my knee sleeves up, & it's go time. Often try to warm my shoulders a tad while on the bike too, so it doesn't shock them squeezing under the bar.

I don't do this all of the time when I squat, but I try to often. All my hip pain disappeared.

Alright bro's and broettes. quick update after the weekend. skipped saturday. hip was a frickin mess. went to the car dealership. i'm sick of paying almost $500 bucks a month for my bad ass chevy, so i'm moving laterally into a dodge. lease payment is less than half of owning my chevy. seems like a no brainer to me. bachelorette party with the woman... there were a bunch of husbands there for whatever reason. i was the last to show up actually. i resisted as long as i could but my friends were out and I was bored. wound up at a strip club with all female dancers. needless to say i was hung over sunday so i skipped the gym again.

bodybuilding day today as brandon lilly would call it. i call it bi's tri's and calves.
rope push downs 5 sets, super long rep counts. just really as long as i could hold tension i held tension for sets of 12

cgbp 5x5 265

over head extensions with an ez bar instead of db, 90 for 3x12

super set reverse grip push downs with regular grip push downs 3x10x10 think it was only like 20 lbs on the stack

db curls 4x8

spider curls 4x8

cable curls 4x8

seated calves 4x15 1x25. didnt want to do standing, weight on my hip is still iffy.


im gonna keep stretching and rolling my hips out, hope i can hit my pull day on wednesday bench friday and squat sunday and keep this schedule.

Lmao it's been an interesting few days. Thanks It should be back to about 85% in a few days and that's good enough for the explosive/speed day.

Interview went well. It'll be over a month before I hear back about going in to test. Guess I'll be moving to Rome ny no matter what for the job I accepted.

Took delivery on the truck. It's pretty sick. I'll throw in some pictures later.

hips still jacked.


just finished the lift. just could not get into it today. stress and nerves over moving and stuff are getting to me as well as whatever the hell i did to my hip.

decided to try stretching everything out. felt a bit better. got to the gym, decided i'd give the movement of a deadlift a shot with out any weight. hip still freezes up at about a 3/4 squat depth. decided i'd still get dead work in...

rack pulls from just below kneeds and narrow stance (been pulling sumo) 8x3 @ 60% max-245lbs

hip didnt feel bad at all through the deads, tried to hit squats for accesory work. put 135 on and it froze and locked on me. moved onto close grip pull downs

130x8 for 2 sets 145x8 for 2 sets

db rows 70x12 for 4 set

hypers bw for 1 set, +25 for one set +45 for one set. 12,10,8 reps

bb shrugs up to 225 nice and slow reps.

Sorry to hear the hip still causing you grief. You have some big changes coming up, so being stressed/nervous about it is understandable. Keep your chin up and just power through man.
 
Oh, that's quite frustrating! You've got a lot on your plate but it's very inspiring that you are continuing to push through! :)

thanks man. working my ass off at doing that. i may just take a short hiatus and get back to it when the move is over. may give me time to heal the hip. i dont really want to do it but it may be best
