anyway, quinoa alone is not bad, I don't mind the texture really but it is a tad odd - but if you don't cook it right, it can be rather dry and just weird feeling..i rarely eat it solo tho, it tastes so much better when other things are added

nutritious as fawk tho - quinoa r.i.v.a.l.s sweet potatoes as the most nutritionally dense food in existence

I tried quinoa a handful of times and just hated it.

nah not quite there, but not too far away if I choose to do a show - but pretty much decided against at this point, and will still focus on putting on more size & mass while maintaining lean (but not crazy lean)

I think I'm in a pretty good zone right now, dietary wise, to make some good moves in size

fantastic chest/abs session this morning, strength was just off the chain! feeling good..

and I know I said no tennis till SUN - but a match just materialized for later on today, got a call out of the blue to play

mmmm just got done eating a beef & chicken sandwich w/ bell peppers, on rye
freakin thing was TALL!
6oz 96% lean beef + 5oz chicken breast
2 slices rye bread
~500cals, 30c/10f
 
You're lovin' that bread lately, aren't you? Makes it darn easy to get the carbs in if you're out in the heat a lot though.

I've never been in to bread too much, usually stick with the occasional rye and the standard Ezekiel fare, but yeah lately I've been leaning towards breads as carb source in first part of day, then I 'll switch it out to rice/potato even oats (and some others) later in day

I also been using greek yogurt in my few protein shakes I been eating, or adding blueberries/raspberries in them instead

on this particular phase I'm on, I seem to absorb most all carbs very well, and they are going to all the right places

The first coach I ever worked with let me eat wheat or Ezekiel bread early in the day like that. He's also the coach I hired for like 6 months to a year and never heard back from... Either way the bread was a nice change from rice sweet potatoes and oats until I got carried away with it.

I only eat bread at 2 meals, they are both before midday, and one of the times is usually rye (the other currently 100% whole wheat)

Like I said I got carried away on the bread. Lessons learned.

aaaaaand I am spent, thank god I am traveling for demos tomorrow, I need a break from all activity :tired:
 
Here are a couple pics from December when I ended my last cut....I think I've added some size and I'm either right about where I was then our a tad bit leaner possibly. Legs aren't as lean but the upper body seems to be tighter.

as for size - depends on your waist, but I would say large
