TGR's Cheetos Chraining

Thanks Kat! I find front squats to be very challenging. It was like I won a award. Lol

Heck yeah you did! They are insanely challenging! I suck at them! Lol

60s rests on everything except squats.

Meadows Row

Bar+Weight listed
Warm up to 3×10, try and beat the 3×8 from last week.

Set 1 : 135x10
Set 2 : 145x8
Set 3 : 145x8

-these were supposed to be done on a smith machine but my smith machine does not go to mid shin so I did regular barbell.

Close Grip Chin Up 1.27
3x8-12, palms facing each other.

Set 1 : 1x8
Set 2 : 1x4

Switched to the lat Pulldown because I didn't hit the recommended reps on set 2. I used the same v-grip.

Close Grip Front Lat Pulldown 209.67
With pause/holds SS with leaning banded rows x Failure

Set 1 : 170x7
Set 2 : 150x7

Set 1 : 55x12
Set 2 : 55x12
Set 3 : 55x12 - last rep did a 20s neg.

Back was beat but I still had 15 min, so...

Barbell Front Squat 225

Set 1 : 135x6
Set 2 : 185x3
Set 3 : 205x1
Set 4 : 225x1 PR
(have previously failed at 210. By failed, I mean I never made it to parallel and had to come back up because the bar was rolling forward.
Set 5 : 135x5 pausing for 2s at parallel.

That's still a great workout! Some days we are just stronger than others! Today you were obviously stronger in your front squats!!!

Nice job brother.... On the smith bent rows, I have the same issue. I stand on a couple of plates or box to elevate a little. You could try that.

Good to hear you are getting those front squats down!

Dangit. I think I remember you suggesting that last time. Hopefully I'll remember next time...

Woah, you killed your session today! Great job!

Thanks Puccah!

Today I did not put in any Rx eye drops. I needed some lubricant, but the doc said if need that post-surgery probably half way through the summer.

Tomorrow is arm day. I'm kinda excited because I love the pump, but I really, really cannot wait for the next leg workout. I feel like my legs are making great progress this year.

Surgery? Did I miss something?

Your legs are getting super strong! It's good to rest them though! ;)

I had (genetic) cataract surgery. Supposedly very rare for my age.

Hence, my eye issues... maybe(?).

Holy smoke you were on fire today!! Way to go!!

Wow! That read like a novel describing muscle torture. Jealous of the volume Thomas!

Awesome of Jim to hook you up with that BPS fatblaster stack - hope you love them. Got em on sale at Orbit right now, as well as everything else for Memorial Day sale this weekend! (code MEM10)

225 front squat; broke the 2-wheels-per-side barrier - congrats :) Keep attacking the fronts & you should continue to watch your numbers go up on it; it's super tough & awkward lift but the learning curve is really steep. Very little time invested will have your numbers soring up towards your backsquat numbers as neurological adaptations take place to apply all the muscle strength you've gained backsquatting.

As for falling forward, every rep tell yourself to actively drive those elbows up high to keep the bar in the cradle - if it gets really far out & you fight it you can tear a bicep.

BAM!!

This will help pull me out of my slump:

JimBuick sent me those from his personal stash to log for BPS. What a really good guy!

I have some meal planning to do...

Hope they work for ya bro. Not sure if I'm completely sold on Combustion

Thanks for the code, Hyde, and as always: the tips. I'm going to try and squat twice a week. Once on my normal leg day and again practicing fronts.

What're your thoughts so far?

Ordered it in March and still haven't received it...about to give up on it but I have a couple of buddies that got some and they haven't noticed any change. Hopefully paired with the DCP will give you better results.

Hmm. I have seen several people having wait-issues with bps products. Not sure why.

I messages Jim earlier asking if he wants them logged together, separate, or staggered.

You are still a BPS rep, right?

Ya it's been a waiting game for awhile. No I am no longer with them

Twice/wk makes a big difference for a lot of guys trying to get stronger. Lot of bodybuilders have 2 lower days/wk as well, usually one with greater weight & the other with greater volume, or a ham-focused/quad-focused split. And obv calves can be done more than once a wk so that's easy to justify.

Damn that workout was awesome! Are you trying to compete with Wasme?! Lately his workouts are crazy !

We're both on an MD program, so our routines are somewhat similar.

Not sure either one of us do the arm work that you do though. Talk about crazy.

Headed to the hospital. My dad is being held for a possible heart attack or stroke.

Prayers for your Dad!

Prayers. :(

Thanks guys. His BP is hovering around 180, was as high as 240 last night. He has some numbness in his face.

He just got back from an MRI and I guess we'll know more later. I think they're just trying to stabilize his BP at this point.

That's crazy high BP; can't imagine what 240 feels like. 155 on 28mg Msten & other goodies had me feeling like I was dying inside, & normally I'm in 120s I believe off-cycle.

Really hope everything pans out as good as possible for you & yours, RJ.

Mine hit 174 on Epi/Pstane/Trenavar.. every time i bent over felt like my face was going to blow off - talk about pressure

He had a stroke yesterday. They aren't certain yet what permanent damage there is, but they said there is no brain damage.

BP is fluctuating between 175-190. They said they will probably try and lower that slowly over the course of two weeks. He's had high BP for so long, they believe that if they medicate it lower it will cause another stroke.

Sorry to hear about the stroke, but great news that there is no brain damage!

My thoughts are with you guys Thomas..

I hate he had a stroke but glad they figured out what happened. So glad there was no brain damage! I hope he gets to feeling better very soon! Thank you for letting us know! I will continue to pray for him and your family as well!

Thanks peeps. Came home to shower and eat, then I'm headed back up for the night. His left side is responding slower than the right, and I don't feel comfortable leaving him by hisself all night.

On the brighter side, it appears that he is well enough that when his girlfriend gets back in the morning I can do a leg workout.

Thanks everyone. His BP is going down. Stayed at 150-152 most of the night.

I just got home to have some coffee then I'm off to hit legs. Hope the gym is empty today. At least if it's not, it's international chest day.

Very good news! It's terrible when you have to worry about a parent! Let the iron take some worry away brother.
