Androgel 1.62% Review/Feedback

Keep in mind that pregnenalone can covert to DHEA, estrogens,testosterone as well as other hormones. It's just too far upstream to control.

DHT is a concern at all levels of PSA according to the latest research although it is typically only a problem in the presence of E2 but we all have and need a little E2.

I will say that preg and dhea have provided all those benefits for me. I wish everyone could experience it or know about it. Especially those on trt.
 
I can't say that I've noticed any change in libido. Probably because I'm using in concert with TRT. Lowering estrogen too much definately affects my libido.
 
I will say that the biggest, most noticeable benefit of preg is the effect on anxiety, energy, and memory. When you read the studies claiming that preg is the single strongest thing you can take to improve memory, I believe it. On the energy and anxiety side, it is miraculous that it can give you smooth, natural energy all day long, yet remove any GA or SA.
 
I have been taking 20 mg of preg and 20 mg of DHEA off and on for years and haven't noticed much other than an overall feeling of well being.
 
Goes to show how good it is when you got an"overall feeling of well being " and it is disappointing. I find it simply amazing on all fronts.
 
Another update... Since my last post in January, I've still been using 2 pumps of Formeron stacked with my normal 4 pumps of Androgel + Phlogel Ultra. My E2 dropped from 55 down to 31, and I've dropped my weight from 206 down to 198. I've also stacked another Black Lion Research product called "Incinderine" which is a fat burner, which I take 2 pills/twice daily. Now I'm down to 196 and am more ripped and defined than ever! I can't say enough great things about Black Lion Research's products and awesome customer service!!! I'm simply eating clean and healthy, staying away from red meat and processed foods, and body fat is just melting off EFFORTLESSLY!!

One thing I am concerned about though is all the media attention now to the recent discovery of heart attack risks with TRT. My doctor may want me to have a heart stress test to make sure I'm safe moving forward... How does everyone else feel about these risks? I'm considering stopping Androgel and just going back to my old baseline natural test, though that would be a bummer!!

After about 8 months on Androgel using 4 pumps/day + Phlojel Ultra, my recent bloodwork is still consistent at total T 1200, free T about 290, and good ole estradiol at 55. So I started Formeron 2 weeks ago and started aggressively with 2 pumps in morning and 2 pumps in the afternoon, along with Phlojel Ultra on top. That was a bad bad move! I think my estrogen crashed after the first week as I had serious fatigue, achy joints, hot flashes, and an insane appetite. I've noticed a slight bit of water weight loss, muscles definitely look more vascular, strength is up a bit, libido is elevated, and I feel like I'm on a mini PH cycle. Formeron is a great value at $33 for a 40-day supply using 2 pumps/day! The guys over at Black Lion Research are also really helpful and responsive to all emails. I can certainly tell that Formeron is working after about an hour or two after application, as I feel that "swell" in my triceps which reminds me of my former experiences with AndroBulk and AndroMass. I can't wait to take another blood sample here real soon and see how this impacts my E2. I think the only side effects I'm noticing now are a bit of an elevated heart rate, more sensitivity to caffeine, and I'm sweating like a mad man in the gym even without taking PWO stims.

The report you are referring to about TRT and heart problems has been debunked. A poorly designed study with many flaws. Do a little research before you stop TRT. Virtually all of the latest research supports the use of TRT to prevent heart issues and many other problems associated with aging.

I only use one pump ED of Dermacrine along side my TRT and it gives me what I'm looking for. I know many others use higher doses, but it's all about finding what works for you.
 
So I just found out from my health insurance carrier that they will no longer cover Androgel. They will only pay for Fortesta, Androderm, or Axiron topicals. Has anyone had any success with Fortesta and also tried to apply Phlojel Ultra on top of the gel? It looks like 7 pumps of Fortesta delivers 70mg of testosterone compared to 4 pumps of Androgel that delivers 80mg, and Fortesta is recommended to apply to the top and inner parts of the thighs. From what I've researched and personally validated, the best androgen receptor sites are the base of the neck, shoulders, back, and upper chest. I've consistently reached 1200ng/DL total test and ~300ng/DL free test using these sites. I imagine Fortesta is almost identical to Androgel with a similar alcohol-based carrier. I will not use Axiron as an underarm stick or Androderm as a transdermal patch, so Fortesta is going to have to be my choice.

I am using a compounded product through a pharmacy in Southern California. My insurance would not approve 4 pumps of Androgel/day, so I asked my MD to send the script to the compounding pharmacy and I went outside of my insurance. The compounded product, equivalent to 4 pumps of Androgel/day, costs me $40 month, total - including the cost of mailing it to me each month.
 
When you have your MD send it to compound pharmacy does your MD have to specify anything in particular or does he just send the prescription for Androgel and the pharmacy takes it from there?

I have had success with Fortesta + Phlojel Ultra. I use 4 pumps ED and it gets me at 700 TT. I like it much better then Axiron.

I am not sure exactly what dialog the two of them had.

I contacted the CP directly first and told him what I wanted and asked the price.

Then I asked him what he needed from my MD, and since the Rx is for a controlled substance, the Rx had to go directly from MD to CP.

Then I called my MD and asked her office to call the CP.

Whatever they did, it worked.
 
Did you get 700 TT with 4 pumps + Phlojel Ultra, or was that just with the 4 pumps alone? Did you only apply it to the inner thighs? Any other tips?
 
Testim is much better then all of them. Gets you higher levels then all if them. 1.62 is a marketing gimmick. Levels actually drop on that product and once your at 81mg and still low what do you do? Axiron is a messy application. Spills everywhere like putting purel on under your arms. Forresta does not reach adequate levels at lower doses and there is high incidence of rash.

My average TT of 700 comes from the 4 pumps + Phlojel Ultra. I was averaging 600 before adding in the Phlojel. I do not only apply to my thighs though. I apply to all the thinner skinned areas and I am constantly changing application sites. I know TT of 700 isn't the best, but honestly I feel pretty good at this level.
 
I think 600 on a consistent daily basis is excellent. While you may go higher within a day or 2 of an injection if you are injecting only once a week I believe you will most likely be around there or lower for last day or two.

I inject 60mg e3.5d and peak at low 800s and am consistently low 600s on inject day. That keeps me riding around 700s most of the time with no e2 issues. Very comfortable level with no sides for me.
 
I personally haven't noticed a difference with total T from 800 up to 1200, but keeping E2 down in the low 30's has been essential, and free T around 300 has been quite noticeable. I just got my script for 8 pumps/day of Fortesta, so I'll use it with Phlojel Ultra and see where it gets me.
 
I'm currently stacking Ostarine with AndroForte and see fantastic results. Still growing at 65. Many comments in the gym.

I love Ostarine. I'm starting my next run with it tomorrow. I run it at 25mg for 8 weeks along side my TRT.

Any BP issues? Mine increased from normal 116/67 to 15x/8x. Had to add in CEL Cycle Assist.
 
The BHT in AndroForte lowers my BP as does low dose Cialis which I take daily. Not necessarily for ED issues but it's good for the prostate as well.
 
I extracted the left over testosterone-mix from the Androderm Patches, mixed it with Androgel, added some rubbing alcohol to thin it out a bit, then mixed in the plogel. WOW. This home made brew is potent. I don't know if I mixed in enough plogel, but what ever it works great.
 
Good thread here. Took me a week to read it all but good information and feedback in here. I'll be starting androgel as soon as the prior authorization from my insurance is cleared.
Where do you get phloegel?

For TRT I assume?

The energy boost if one of your symptoms was lethargy is the first effect, 3-4 days

The libido boost 2 weeks or so

The aesthetic benefits take time of course, but just eat right
