200mg a dose of caffeine can be the culprit as well

is today the first time you did 2 doses?

Speaking if caffeine, I took the 12.5/200 after lunch WITH a cup of strong coffee. BUT, the effects within the first hour weren't great.

The first time recently, maybe ever, that I took two. Still though, they were spread out.

Only other thing I've taken was a Centrum MultiVitamin at 1600.

Ya realistically you'd only find an increase for an hour maybe two.. not hours later. But the mixture of ec ... could very well do that. No other stress?

Not really.

I did unload an ATV (4wheeler) on the way home from work to have it worked on. But, that wasn't a lot of work. More than recently, sure.

I'll test it again tomorrow. Maybe just one dose tomorrow and if there are no issue I'll try two again Saturday.
 
Slept like hell. Still have that flushed feeling in my face and felt it off and on all night.

I also haven't taken niacin or magnesium in two days. I wonder if that's affecting my sleep?

Anyway, not gonna spring much this morning if I don't feel 'normal'. Light jogging, light squats, and maybe a couple machines.
 
It's nice being on the PC... It's been a while. At least I can read the screen and see all my mispellings and auto-corrects...

Anyway, here's how it went. Don't know reps for certain. I did a lot of slow neg and pause reps just to warm mhy muscles up.

Squat: barX1set, 95X1, 135x3

Bench: Bar x1

OHP: 40x2, 70x1, 60x1, 50x1

Lat Pulldown: 70x1, 110x3

Curls: 20x3

I think that's all. Again, these were the number of sets, not reps. Stayed well short of straining. My left hamstring got a crazy pump from squats, surprisingly.

I didn't feel up to running. Jogged to the 3min mark at 6.5 and that was all.

I just took EC despite what I said earlier. So far, so good.
 
Another note:

My caffeine pills are 200 and I've been taking only half. So 12.5/100, and a cup of coffee in the afternoon. Too much caffeine can't be the reason for BP then. My caffeine tolerance is pretty up there.
 
I dose EC much higher and alongside stims/burners so I may not be the best to advise here but electrolytes are much more of a concern while using it.

I take additional magnesium; I see you stopped yours. That could be contributing to the sleep troubles.

Higher BP can also somewhat come from the potassium depletion (helps push out sodium)

I find a lot of EC sides can be limited by taking some Taurine with it, and for how cheap it is + the other benefits I would say it's worth considering.

Thanks Driven. I'm going to add the magnesium/niacin back for sure, and will get some Taurine as well. My potassiium has been a little low this week too.
 
I usually don't drink energy drink but I find them helpful while taking ephedrine because of the caffeine and taurine in them.

No issue thus far, but I'm not going to push it and take a second dose. Drinking my afternoon cold coffee and taking my multi.
 
Yeah man and most of them have like 200mgs of caffeine in them per can

I'm going to try that with tomorrow mornings dose. Any particular brand/type you recommend? I don't really drink them.
 
I like redbull because it's small. Monster is really sweet and it's a bigger can

I'll give monster a shot. The thought of Red Bull makes me want to pick because of last Jäger Bombs...
 
Wanted to add that I agree with Driven... Taurine with EC definitely helps with the night time leg cramps I will get in those first 2 weeks.
 
I'm a little on the edge about adding extra stims via energy drinks to try fixing this issue.

Bulk Taurine is really cheap and as I said has a host of other benefits;

Some of those are mostly vitamins though, right?

Depends on which energy drink I guess. I would just double check the labels before jumping into anything

No. I'm working today and Saturdays we start work earlier than during the week.

Even if not though, I have some minor DOMs all over. May run or something tomorrow.
 
I can't find live local news before 7 on a Saturday. That's absurd.

The eyes are ok. I went 36 hours-ish without my drops because my pharmacy didn't have my prescriptions, even after confirming twice that they did.

I did some things around the house today, hauling stuff around the yard/garage, installing a fan, and normal activities. Felt good all around.

BP seems ok, too. I took EC (12.5/200) at about 1pm, and don't believe (without checking) that I had any spikes.

I plan on hitting legs tomorrow. Some strain, but not TOO heavy yet. No pre-WO just to be sure nothing makes me want to do more than I'm ready for. Protein shake pre with two cups coffee, 1/4c ground oats in water intra, and 1c 1% cottage cheese about an hour post. EC at 8, maybe again at 1300.

What protein shake did you have?

I will be consuming that case of muscle milk that I thought was .50¢/bottle the day of my surgery...
 
Haha! I forgot about that mishap:)

I'm not really much a fan of them, tbh. I think I also have a 1.5# tub of this same flavor, too.

Everything felt heavy, tbh.
 
Jumped right back into the iron den! Don't worry, you're muscle memory will prevail and you'll be back to normal in no time. How did the pressure feel on the eyes?

There was one point after the first set of 225 when I laid down on the leg curl that I could feel/see my pulse through my eyes. Don't know if that makes any sense, but that's the only way I know to describe it.

I stood up and waited about another 30s and was fine.

Nothing serious though, and that's probably a feeling I've had pre-surgery but never payed any attention to it.
 
I know that feeling as it's that normal BP spike when lifting heavy. I'm glad to hear all went well. It looks like you are on the road to your normal killer workouts. Nice job!
