breezy's training, supplementation, and food log

CnC? I just ordered 2 bars and anxiously await their ar*****.

Edit: A r r i v a l

Meh.

Ordered them? You don't have a GNC/health store nearby?

I do but their prices are insanely inflated. I was able to find a discount coupon online and free shipping. :)

Very nice!

Suppz dot com was selling them for $19.99/case last week ($5 off). Not sure if they still are...

24hr fitness sells them and usually has deals. You can get a gold card for GNC as well and get the member price. It's the only thing I buy at GNC but has been worth the trip.

Nice. I usually include sriracha in one meal daily. I use Frank's a lot too.

.

What is the new flavor oreo?

Edit: just saw Gokix post... Cnc

And for the superbowl I had some pizza (loaded with hot peppers) and wings... basically painted the pizza in a franks red hot and sriracha - was a great sauce combo. Talk about hoop o' fire though lol

Sorry to hear about your show being moved back a month. Although, knowing you this will end up working totally to your advantage.

I am a hot sauce junky and have never seen Siracha. Is it in the Mexican foods section, or am I not looking hard enough in the hot sauce area?

Thanks guys.

Thread hi-jack for a second.....Would anyone be interested in following my prep log? I'm either 17 or 21 weeks out now depending on what show I do.

I may even start preping for the June 7 and switch gears to the July 12 (trying to move up a weight class).

If there's nudes I'll be there...
If not I'm out ;)

which gears you on bro :P I'll follow if you throw down a link.

It was a C&C Quest Bar and it was awesome.

It's a busy day and I'll try to have an update later. Here's an interesting read on carbs:

I got an awesome deal on these today too.

Interested to see how you like the Norcodrene breezy. :D

how are you gonna fit those in since your doing carbs pre-wo.

I haven't put much thought into it yet (won't start for a few weeks), but there'll be decent opportunities throughout the day. When I train in the morning, I could try taking my first dose while I'm asleep :D. I always get up to use the bathroom about 45 minutes to an hour before my alarm goes off (when not using PowerFULL) and could take a couple caps, fall right back asleep, and wake up with some energy and Norcodrene at work on an empty stomach. Taking stims later in the day normally doesn't affect my sleep as well. I'll let you know when I figure it out.

Interested to see how you like the Norcodrene breezy. :D

Me too. It better get me shredded. :D

I had a light back session this morning. Nothing crazy, just 4 exercises for 4 standard sets of 10 (no partials, drops, etc.) Here's the final set of the session.

One-Arm Supinated Grip Pulldowns: I like to switch between doing these on the HS machine and a regular pulldown station. The focus was on leaning back slightly, driving my elbow down, and flexing the crap out of my lower lat at the bottom. I started losing a little steam on the last couple reps, which was alright for the final set on short rest.

I've made a few diet adjustments (mainly timing related) and will post an update when I get a chance. I have to work for the rest of the day.

I just got back from one of the toughest leg sessions that I can remember and am getting ready for a post-workout feast (1 of 2 meals before bed). I was out of breath about 10 minutes in and am still breathing a little heavy. Thankfully, I didn't get sick and was able to drink 565 calories worth of my intra mix without any stomach issues at all.

I started with a leg curl variation involving multiple drops and forced reps before moving on to a lot of squats.

BB Back Squat
135x15
225x15
245x8
275x8
315x8
335x8
365x8
385x8
405x8
405x6, 315x10, 225x14

-These started out explosive, but the last couple sets involved some grinding (which was the plan). The small jumps in weight had my legs smoked by the time I got up to 405. I was supposed to start the drop on what I knew would be my last set of 8, but didn't realize it at the time. I waited ~1.5 mins and started the drop with what was a tough 405x6.

Drop set: These weren't very pretty, but I'll take it after all the previous reps. I would've recorded a few more sets, but knew my phone would die in the process. I quickly stopped and restarted recording between drops so the video could be saved. The battery died at some point during the final set with 225 and didn't save, which is too bad because it was one of the hardest sets of my life.

3 sets of 30 on the leg press followed squats and I finished with some leg extensions and DB stiff-legged deads.

I'll try to get a diet update posted soon, but have a lot of stuff to take care of before going to sleep.

BRUTAL!

Curious what made up the 565 Intra cals

Yeah, I was in rough shape towards the end. The quad pump from the leg presses after were ridiculous as well.

My terminator juice :). Hydrolyzed casein, highly branched cyclic dextrin, Modern BCAA+, ALCAR, and 2000ml water.

Very impressive squat numbers Breezy.

Are your hydrolyzed casein and highly branched cyclic dextrin unflavored breezy? Or are you still using glycofuse?

Thanks man. The higher reps were tough.

Ahhh yes I forgot, you're half machine lol

lol

They're both flavored, but nothing can mask the bitterness of hydrolyzed casein. I have glycofuse and bulk hbcd (a couple different flavors), which both taste great on their own, especially glycofuse.

Breezy do you drink a shake after all of that?? Seems like you'd be just eating food after-and I don't really see a problem with that.

Amazing squat numbers! Yes hydrolyzed casein is pretty gross.

Thanks Pete. Yup.

What is glycofuse?

A carb product in the form of highly branched cyclic dextrin. There's some calcium, magnesium, and sodium in it as well.

I see at truenutrition you can get debitterized ...is that possible

Gaspari intraworkout powder that contains highly branched cyclic dextrin

I believe that's only for their hydro whey, which I wouldn't use for my intra. I want something with a high percentage of di and tri peptides, so my body isn't working to digest it. The higher the AN/TN (amino nitrogen/total nitrogen) ratio, the better. I actually asked TN about their hydro casein and it has an AN/TN ratio of 15% (whey might be 12%, but not sure) and I think Peptopro is 20%. The molecular weight is another factor that should be considered and unfortunately not all companies have this information available. It's about $10/lb more for Peptopro, but you get what you pay for. If I won the lottery, I'd probably use Plazma. The benefit of the intra drink would depend on the type of training you do as well (it probably isn't very necessary for most training styles). A cheaper carb source (l've used Gatorade powder) and BCAAs are a good place to start.

No, I get plenty of nutrition while I'm training, so I'm in no rush to have a shake or eat (although it doesn't fill me up). I just eat a big meal about an hour after my session.

EDIT: My intra drink doesn't usually contain that many calories (565) either. I adjust the amount based on training.

You're crazy strong Breezy! Nice work!

Smashing them squats!!! Congrats. The peptide topic has sparked some interests for myself here lately. I been doing a little studying up on it. The reason I've been interested is I've had bowel surgery with parts of my large & small intestine , along with part of my colon removed. My digestion/absorption rates are not taking in nearly what i consume. I been look at adding a peptide supp to my regiment. Do u think it helps with all digestion properties or just protein synthesis??

Thanks Jiigzz. Leg strength has been coming back well, since neglecting them last prep. Hopefully, I get to really test them before getting deep into prep.

Thanks man. Have you been looking at products like PF3 and Bio Grow? If so, I haven't really looked into them and don't know much about their benefits. Either way, with hydrolysates, the proteins are partially digested, and a good amount of the proteins (depending on % di and tri peptides) bypass the stomach and are absorbed directly through the small intestine.

Training is highly catabolic and I use the intra drink to help lessen the amount of actual damage done to muscle fiber (definitely still want to break down muscle though). The fast acting carbs and protein block some muscle protein breakdown and increase muscle protein synthesis. Insulin is anti-catabolic and is increased from the HBCD (fast acting carb). The casein hydrolysate (and MBCAA+) raises free amino acid levels, stimulates MPS, and amplifies the insulin response from the carbs.

Yeah I looked at both pf3 and bio grow. Didn't find as many reviews on pf3 as I did bio grow. They were all positive but I'm always sketchy of web reviews. It's not overly $ and If I'm not getting the maximized potential from my diet and protein as is I think it's worth a test run. Soon anyway. I also did some research on the hbcd. Just because I had never heard of it before. I'm not advanced in the game enough to take any supps Intra other than bcaa/ saa. Don't feel my progress has plateaued enough to need a mid way kicker just yet. But as always picking up tons of knowledge man thanks

No problem, man. BCAAs are a solid option and I still use them intra as well. Meadows doesn't recommend the HC/HBCD combo for most training styles either (it can be a waste of $). When done correctly, MD is a different beast and can be brutal to recover from. That said, the intra mix without a doubt helps my ability to consistently train with the intensity and frequency that I do. It's expensive and I wouldn't keep using it otherwise. I was talking to Distilled Water the other day about how great it is to find something that makes such an obvious difference (compared it to SuperCissus). If I didn't know any better, I'd honestly have no idea that I gave my legs a serious beating yesterday. It's still a little early, but there's absolutely zero soreness or tightness at this point.

Ain't got nothing on the cinnamon roll...just sayin haha.

Just tried the CnC quest bar. Pretty good but apple pie still wins. :-)

Awesome. Apple Pie might not even crack my top 10.

Ain't got nothing on the cinnamon roll...just sayin haha.

I think I am with you on this one Dan. Cinnamon roll is da bomb!

I think that's 7 or 8 on my list.

Here are a couple videos from a recent back session that I finally uploaded.

Close Grip Pulldowns: These were done facing away from the machine to allow for a better angle to drive my elbows straight down.

Rack Pulls: I worked up to 405 with singles and then did 15 singles with a 10 count between each rep. I started out with closer to an 8 count, but these got really tough after the first 10. My phone battery didn’t die this time, but the memory filled up and cut the video short. :(

Yep! I have the HTC one and can attest to the crappy battery life/over heating.

It's awful. I've stuck with HTC since smart phones first came out, but my latest has been ridiculous.

I did a little shopping this morning. Lots of good fats, protein, and some carbs.

-Not my usual TJ's, but it's new and massive. It's right next to Marky Mark's burger place too. wasme they are opening a second Wahlburgers in Toronto, directly across the street from Wayne Gretzky's restaurant.

-The pasta ingredients can't get any simpler. I like to save it for leg days.
