Killn' The Cube: My powerlifting venture begins

Alright guys I can't train today. I've missed probably 3 scheduled lifting days in 3 years, so I'm not happy about it.

I went snowboarding last night for the first time. I was out from 10pm to 5am. I hurt my wrist, might have broke my thumb and my body is sore AF. I'm going to hold off, take it easy tonight and put forth a great workout tomorrow.

**** dude

I'll be alright. It's not going to hold me back any more than today. I'll work through it.

Snowboarding is hard. The problem wasn't I couldn't ride it was I couldn't slow down. I was a 220lb missle without breaks. I inadvertently hit a jump. I was flying off course and the next thing I know I'm heading right for the biggest jump at the mountain. Busted my ass and wrist, hahah.

Hitting the ground hurts a lot more when you're 220 than when you're a 150lb kid, lol.

You can be honest and say you were sledding. You don't have to impress us man.

Jk get well brother!

The only people that found me eating snow impressive was the group of people on the ski lift that saw me catch an edge, then proceed to do a half backflip onto the back of my head. I bounced up like a kitten and I think from their response they thought it was some sort of fancy maneuver. Or, they enjoyed seeing me bite it hard.

Lol, thanks Rob.

Westside: Week 2- DE bench

DE bench: 3x6- 135+light shorts

Standing OHP: 8x3- 135

I didn't necessarily take it easy, I just took 30 sec between sets.

Chest supported DB row SS cable side lateral: 10/20- 70's/20

Cable fly SS banded pull aparts: 20/30- 50/onyx band

Banded skull crusher: 8x3- EZ curl bar+light shorts (holy phuck)

Face pull SS DB hammer curl: 12/8- 120/35's

Banded curl: 12x3- 30lb bar+average band

Got everything done in less than an hour. Very fast paced. My wrist and thumb hurts like a MF'er, going to keep pushing.

solid work cincy, ice that wrist and thumb down, then ice em again...

Thanks man. I am icing them down and running some anti inflammatories. It should help.

This is nothing compared to when I broke my toes. My big toe was broke completely in half and they had to stitch the skin back on. If I can squat under those circumstances, this is child play.

Westside: Week 3- ME lower

Rack pull: 515x3 (PR)

I was supposed to squat heavy today, but my legs are still beat from snowboarding, so I opted for a partial ME movement.

Squat:
275x6
295x6x3 (no belt)

Sumo DL:
365x3
405x3
365x3

Couldn't find a groove. Felt like a phuckin idiot doing these. Couldn't groove it at all. Hips are still tore up and I couldn't find a good position.

Suspended GM: 205x8x3

Not happy with today's effort. I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping at night and running on 4 hours of sleep continuously catches up fast. Phuck.

Westside: week 3- ME bench

Bench: 295x3

I felt extremely weak today. I had a hard time putting my head on straight.

Bench backdown:
185+light bands x5x5

All I had time for. I might have been weaker because I had less rest time than I'm accustom to, since I did DE Sunday instead of Saturday. Errectors are shot.

I gotst some work to do tomorrow.

Yeah man good work. Not as weak as my weak workout... haha. I'm mad.

A bad day at the gym is better than a good day at work. At least you did what was prescribed for a work set.

Upper body accessory day:

Pendlay rows:
135x15
185x10
225x8x2

Cat-back lat pull downs:
25x3 -heavy band

Tate press SS band pull aparts: 15/20- 35's/onyx

Cable fly SS band pull aparts:
I did 10 at flies at the top setting, 10 at shoulder height, 10 at bottom. That's one set, I did 4 and SS w/ 20 banded pull aparts. I hope that made sense, lol.

Seated DB side laterals SS spider curls: 12/8- 30's/60lb

Plates pinches: 2 10'sx failure

Great workout. I was moving quick, heart rate was up and I was fighting for air most the time. I feel like a BB'er after today's transgressions.

Suppdate:

My libido is still sky high. I'm going to contribute it to the formasurge. It's definitely abnormally high and I'm not mad about it. Still no issues with skin irritation. I am however noticing I'm becoming more vascular. The veins in my forearms are sticking out very noticeably. Probably from the loss of excess water, but that's a good thing.

I've never taken anything like this and I'm upset it's DS'ed. I'd def have it in a PCT stack.

the hell w your libido, you're getting beast brotha...

Thanks man. I'm making some progress. I've put on almost 20lbs In a year. Given, must of its in the legs and ass, but that's what I needed. Don't stop me now.

Awesome, I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I am also pretty upset that it's gone lol.

Westside: Week 3- DE lower

DE deadlift:
315x2x6
365x1x2

DE squat: 2x6- 185+average band

Front squat: 8x3- 185 (short pause in the hole)

Bulgarian SS: 10x3- 35's

Banded DB side bend: 15x3- 35+average band

Cable crunches: 15x3- whole stack

My god I got this in fast. I would say the fastest of my PL'ing career (lol). Felt good on everything. Squats were moving FAST.

 Those split squats can be a bitch, but I love em.

Thanks! I've made some good improvement on them in the last couple months. I love the stretch in the hips from them; more so than anything.

Westside: Week 3- DE upper

DE bench: 3x8- 145+light shorts

TnG first 2, pause last rep

Arnold press:
50'sx12x2
50x8

When my triceps die, well they die.

JM press: 10x3- 95

Wrist isn't quite ready for these.

Pull ups:
BWx5
BW+25x5
BWx5x2 (I've been weak on these recently)

Rope press down SS band pull aparts: 15/30

Seated DB hammer curl: 6x4- 45's (slow)

Banded EZ bar curl: 12x3

SGHP: 12x3- 115

Calves: a lot x 3 (forgot to do them yesterday)

Another fast and productive workout. Back on track; let's GO!

Westside: Week 4- ME lower

Low box squat: 355x2

These were incredibly difficult. I surprised myself with this one.

Deadlift:
405x3
435x3x2
455x3

Front squat w/ 5" pause:
225x2
255x2
275x2

Barbell back extensions:
135x8x2
155x8 (ouch says the PC)

Pretty incredible day. I got ZERO hours of sleep last night. I've been up for a long time and I wasn't expecting this great of a day. Also, only have had maybe 400 calories since 8am. I told myself I was going to have a good day despite the conditions and I pulled through.

Do any of you guys use youtube capture to upload videos?

It's not letting me upload them. When I try to open capture it's saying the device cannot record both audio and video and won't let me into the app. I tried restarting my phone to no avail.

Sean1332 said:
btw, that 5 second pause sounds disguisting

It was, but now that I watch the video, it wasn't a legit 5". Counting in my head goes a lot faster when pausing 275, lol.

I don't see that function on my YouTube app. Damn.

Yes. it's finicky. Take the video the regular way, then upload through capture. Works for me.

Now we're talkin'.

NOT 5". But there was a pause.

Nice work chief! When you unrack your squats, take your time. Let that bitch settle down. I usually go unrack, let it settle, walk it out, let it settle, squat. That'll get you used to comp commands and your squat will be a lot more stable.

Good call. I agree that would be beneficial to me. Let it settle and phuckin squeeze every muscle in my body before I descend.

Thanks.

Benefit was the exact word I was going to use. Maybe even see if you can squeeze another little bit of air in when you get to your walkout. That can be tricky, though. Sometimes I end up with less air than when I start.

I'll try that to see if I can get more air in me. All the time off the belt during smolov and just now I'm feeling like I know how to utilize it. Must get more air and abdominal pressure.

Note: I did not choose to deadlift to "American Woman," it just ended up that way.
