Wake up? For real? I cook my own meals, I don't live with my parents. I have a full-time job making decent enough money. I'll tell you right now that I don't have enough money squirreled away to pay for a full knee replacement and a partial for the other and it's likely that most people in today's economy are in the same boat. These are things you would recognize if your silver spoon was ever bent away from your childish fücking mouth. Wake up? I'll throat punch you quicker than you can spit that stupid phrase out of your suckhole.
I, I think I love you...

How did u hurt your back Swanson?
The injury I fought with insurance over was an ankle. I blew it up playing arena football, but my main job insurance wouldn't touch it.

I had purchased a separate high deductible plan that didn't exclude things like that. Surgery cost me $7500 out of pocket.

I'd say Lilly had some responsibility to know his insurance exclusions. Doesn't mean I don't feel for him, but you've gotta pay attention. I doubt he has the scratch to pay for 10% of the full cost.

Smoker, I think you would last 1.3 seconds against Dave. Long enough to feel the pain before you went out...
I don't care. I've thrown down many times. Wins and losses. Least I actually threw down and didn't just talk sht and walk away

You'll like those. They're pretty hard at first but after a while they'll feel good. I have the exact same ones/size and they've retained their elasticity the whole year and haven't worn down at all. Just find your wrap groove now!

I have a question on the shirt. You have to physically pull the bar to your chest or what? Never been around shirts, forgive my ignorance.

Can we act like men/adults here and just stop talking about something we disagree on. Not everyone can always have the last word. Damn. Be mature enough to just stop.

Napalm, those are nice wraps. I got the normals because I'm not to that stage yet, those have to be tough.

I think Brandon Lilly has a passion for the sport, and has a day job just like anyone else. Look at derek poundstone. He works full time still, and doesn't have a ton of money. Sure, they make a modest amount, but they have to put money into supps, training gear, travel, meetings, and other things. And surgery or anything medical today is NOT cheap. I think we all have our own opinions about this but the fact is, none of us are him and have to deal with it, and none of us know the facts yet. It's not even that damn important. If you wana help the guy, help him out. He obviously needs it if he can let his pride go and ask for help...

Now get back to talking about lifting and stop the f*cking drama.

Napalm, how do you like your new training gym/partners? I really wish I could get into a place like that around here, or even have 1 good partner. I really envy you.

PL'ing, like BB'ing, are fringe activities and only the top .01% make significant money from them. Bell only makes good money because he is sponsored by a huge supplement company and makes his own equipment. Lilly has been prominent for, what, 18 months or so and to think he's making a **** load of cash in Kentucky is absurd. Yes, he has a popular training method, but how many people here have actually paid the full price for it? It's even more absurd to think he has $100k+ stashed away for full knee reconstruction, two patella tendon surgeries, and a patella surgery.

they've all been awesome, i've been with the same crew of about 10 guys on tues, weds, fri and sunday. we all just do whatever clay says we're doing that day. i'm literally amazed at something someone does in there every time i go in. there are some strong, strong dudes there. arnold winners, wpc champions - real ones, not like me, a 900 lb bencher, 3 700 lb benchers, like 3 800 lb squatters. jj totaled 2007 at 198, it's fcking crazy...

heavy pull day - clay brandenberg is a dick

rack pulls:
quad orange bands from pin 7, just because clay has never done it. 4 guys tested it and the consensus was 500 with no weight on it. total range of motion for me was about 4 inches.

bar x 2 x 5
quarter per side x 5
1 plate per side x 3
plate and a quarter x 3
2 plates x 2
2 plates and a quarter x 2 x 1 - had to bow out here, the other guys worked up to 5 plates and a quarter per side, just sick.

pendlay's
185x3x3

cooked

thoughts
fuuuuccccckkkk, every muscle fiber from my fingers to my toes was stretched 4 inches - exactly the rom i had. when me and ryan were setting up the bar and bands, it took both of us to get them on. when we tested it, we just laughed. i asked clay if he was sure he wanted pin 7. of course he said yes. some major pulling in the lats, serratus and lower back. really had to get tight each rep or you wouldn't budge the bar. i'm feeling a little right tricep thing right now, hopefully nothing.

i rolled everything for about 20 minutes before we started, with any luck i'll be able to get out of bed in the morning...

I'm really looking forward to hearing about any changes in lift execution you notice from these heavy ass rack pulls. How well you keep back tightness on your big 3, back growth, etc.

We haven't pulled from the floor on Sundays yet, I haven't had a chance to try to max on dl's. There's no question my entire upper body is bigger, wifey has commented.

On that note, I haven't gained an ounce since I upped my calories. I guess training in sub zero conditions, all heavy all the time burns some calories. I'm gonna have to re-evaluate my diet sooner than planned...

And it's funny, when we all tested the bar with no weight on it, we were like, even clay: ' I hope I can get the thing off the pins.'

Then we proceeded to pile plates onto something we didn't think we could move...

Haha I have been eating clean and having all out cheat meals in dead and squat days. I've dropped 3-4 lbs, but have been pretty steady since. Hard to eat a surplus with clean foods sometimes.

Etiquette question:

What do you do when the dude in the stall next to you takes a stance so wide his feet are on your side of the divider?

Tell him to turn his toes out for more pop out of the hole. You have the authority to tell him this because you're a powerlifter. Or tell him you're gonna piss on his foot. Or tell him to turn his toes out and then piss on his foot.

EDIT: ^No clue what you're talking about^

You failed drums big shot. John Bonham is the undisputed king of rock and roll drummers. I can appreciate Neil PEART, having seen them 6 times, but Bonham is king...

Ahhh...you got me on spelling. I like John Bonham's drums a lot, not so much for technicality, but just for the fact that it was...some what off, different, hard to replicate. Both bands had some great musicians. I think Jimmy Page is far and away the better guitar player, and plant had better vocals, but Rush has the GOAT rhythm section IMO

Here we go with another him vs him. Peart for the win on technical drumming if it were him vs bonham. Bonham's Moby Dick solo is hard to look past though.
I throw Mike Portnoy and Luke Holland (you've probably never heard of him, you'll thank me that you now have) at you though, for some consideration.

(Buddy Rich doesn't count, there are drummers and then there is the god of drums)
