Well.. just wondering what you guys think..
I've got my supps ready for all phases, bulk recomp and cut.. PES, SNS, EBF, omega sports, purus, appnut, NOW, and Athletix are some of the main companies I am using. I will elaborate further on what I'm using and for what lifting cycle a little later.
The plan WAS 8 weeks bulk 8 weeks recomp 8 weeks cut then forever recomp. Maybe.

I've made some good progress.. started bulking end of october(10/24/13).. had to take 1 month and 1 day off when I dropped a 50lb weight on my fingers and had to have my fingertips sutured back together. (11/17/13-12/18/13).

Been doing Layne Norton's PHAT. Just counted my logs and I have done a total of 23 workouts, which kind of makes me laugh because I thought I was way more consistent than that but that month off screwed me.
Started at 150 lbs in my avatar, December 22 I was 160 and this morning 165. Noticeably bigger than when I started bulking with the only noticeable fat in my belly and my face is a little rounder. Other than that I may be storing non-noticeable levels of fat in my legs and maybe my arse. Maybe 9lbs of muscle and 6 fat? idk..

I'm growing impatient with my bulk mainly because I don't want to have fat on my stomach anymore :/ Third world problems I know..
My question.. Should I continue bulking or should I start my recomp early. I'm making gains eating a ****ton of food healthy and non healthy, so will eating less and doing what generally comes with a recomp slow my muscle building progress? I Will be training the same, the only difference will be diet and supplement choice. School starts in about 2 weeks I'd rather not be a fat mass blob on the first day haha

Personally 8/8/8 is a waste of time, just recomp straight through

I was afraid somebody would say that.. Lol
My body does do well on recomps..
Obviously the biggest impact will be nutrition.. so if anyone has any secret links to nutrition key points to optimizing a recomp that would be greatly appreciated.
Time to break out the alphamine and recompadrol.. Finally :)
I'll probably still cut after 8 weeks just to boost the definition and go back to a recomp after that..

Eat at or slightly above maintenance, keep cardio to a minimum and lift as if you were bulking

I do sprint intervals on my 2 days off..
It looks like: Lift Mon Tues, sprint wed, Lift Thurs Fri Sat, sprint Sun.
I do them on the local high school's track, sprint the straightaways and walk the corners. Usually about 5 laps.
I don't like long distance and never have.. used to be a sprinter in high school.

Is doing this going to eat away at my gains? Or will it help me gain while keeping fat to a minimum? Layne Norton was in favor of sprints while training..

Drop calories down on off days. I did -700kcals on "off days" and was able to recomp well throughout my log a few weeks back.

I say bulk. You can still get 2-3 months in before cutting down for summer.

If you're 5'9 or taller I'd say bulk all the way thru summer until you're atleast 200. If not, or you don't want to take my advice, I'd say to atleast continue to your bulk until February (end of march more ideally) then recomp. Especially if you say you're body responds well to recomps. Recomp April + May. If you're not at your desired BF by then cut thru June and you should be lean enough then for July + August.

But I'd say bulk until atleast 190-200

After much thought I have decided to just recomp straight through..
Thanks for all the suggestions guys appreciate all of you.

Will start eating at ~300cals above maintenance.. If I can ever figure out the proper way to log my crap.

Supps will look like this: Creatine, TMG, optimen vitamins, X-gels, Alcar, baby aspirin, alphamine, burn24, ABE, and of course Select Protein!
For preworkouts I have high volume with either Condense or Uncut depending on how I'm feeling that day. I also have GMS but the GMS in high volume should be enough yea?

After 30 days will swap out the burn24 for recompadrol and see which I like better.
Will also add erase pro and alpha t2 in about 8 weeks..
Annnd I'm not stopping alphamine again.. ever.. :)
Let the fun begin!

I know where your coming from.. Some guys will see your weight and automatically say bulk but your thinking more of a bf point if view!! I'm currently your size and doing same thing. I hate that my face is rounder and my jeans are tighter but know that when it's time to strip some bf, that the muscles will be a little more prevelant!!! IMO:)

If I were you I'd add another 1-3g of GMS so you're sure you're getting in 6g (what most people recommend)

Also if you haven't, download MyFitnessPal. Easy, convenient way to track your calories/macros right on your phone. GL!

Your going to be taking alot of supplements, which is fine if you have the funds. However, you really need to make sure your diet is on point if your going to spend that kind of cash if supplementation. Having your diet on point will give you better results than any natural supplement. It would be a waste to use all those supplements if your calorie/macro intake is unknown. I know you said you wanted to get your diet in check, but you really need to.

That's my plan to get my diet on point.
Maintenance calories were calculated to be 2600 cals by some online calculator from freedieting.com.
I'm 25, 5'6 ( I like to say 5'7) 165 lbs.. 5 workouts a week (PHAT by Layne Norton)
About to find out what my macronutrient needs are for recomp when I find a good calculator online..
Should I incorporate a carb refeed day or keep that for when I cut?

Ok so this is what I found for recomps..
20% above maintenance for training days and -20% on rest days..
So that means on training days 2600+520= 3120 calories 1.5g per lb for protein so that means 1.5*165=248 grams of protein!?!
The rest 75%carbs and 25%fats
Non training days 2600-520= 2080 calories. 248 grams of protein and the rest 75%fats and 25%carbs.
Non training days I'll also do my sprints..
How does that sound
