Rob112^3...That means cubed guys. See what I did?

Awesome job again rob. If smoke texted you the vids that's why they suck. Hey him to upload them.

You're gona make big strides over the coming year Bro.

That is the plan. Honestly, I was surprised myself how easy some of the stuff was. I didn't squat more than 335 in training, bench more than 235, and dead more than 375...and I can count the amount of times on 1 hand I did that. 2 things I take away:1. Don't need to PR in the gym to get stronger. 2. Meet equipment is easier IMO. It's almost like it is made for lifters! Imagine that! haha

This right here is why you will go a long way in this sport, buddy. Your ability to gather and synthesize information and continue to improve is going to serve you well. Years from now when you're a grizzled vet with a sweet silver beard totaling in the 1400-1500 range, you can look a youngin dead in the eye and tell him "I totaled in the 9s in my first meet. Learn from my awesomeness."

Thanks man. I wanna be one of those people who is an encourager in this sport ;)

Rob that was very impressive u made all them lifts look so easy

I need to work harder now lol

Hey man, you have a step up on me as you started 5/3/1 sooner! Haha gains will come brother! And don't underestimate adrenaline on the platform!

Very nice smooth lifting. Looks like they were nearly effortless.
Congrats on your new PR total too, Bigshot...!

Thanks PB! It's great when 6 months of training(from the last meet) really ends up paying off. Awesome feeling. Thanks again!

I noticed, how did the third feel?

It felt good. Had the wife wrap up my knees with anger for it. Remember my ques and went for it. I know I had some more in me, but I don't know how much considering it was already a large PR(biggest of the day).

Awesome stuff and you made it look easy. Congrats!

Side note, my body feels beat to **** today. Holy crap.

It should, now we know you went all out. If it didn't, I'd be worried.

IMO, it's not too big a deal to leave a few on the bar. You'll catch those up and more during your next training cycle...

Leaving some out there and hitting them +some at the next meet is way better than missing an attempt and leaving even more on the bar IMO. Again, good work dude.

I agree. I wanted a total. Say I go for 400 on squat and miss...that's a 50lb turnaround. Take the PRs and keep on trucking. Granted nothing wrong with a miss, but I learned from last one to lower the chances of a miss.

I agree. Going 3/3 on your lifts does make you feel good and want to kill your next meet the same way. I wanted to go for 6 on my pull, but I held back... looking back I probably could have done it. But if I had missed that's -35 pounds and I wouldn't have PR'd at all, just tied it. Granted they were all meet PRs either way, but still. I think you picked smart numbers and hit them. Next time you will do more. There is no rush. Just keep training hard and hitting good #s. Like everyone is saying 12% increase over last time is really substantial. Do that next meet too.

I wanna say that's Lucas Parker in his avi (a Canadian dude that kicks ass at the crossfit games).

Thanks for blowing my cover.

But actually I was thinking about going fishing just to take one of those pics.

Deads
225 x 2 x 3
295 x 2 x 3
325 x 3
Add 1" deficit
325 x 4 x 3

Glute Ham Raise
5, 4, 6, 5, 5(suck at these)

1 Arm Rows
80 x 12-8-5-5 each arm(small rest intervals)

Wood chop variants
70 x 3 x 10

Felt good to get back. New environment. Definitely a "box" gym. Small, but everyone is cool and the equipment is phenomenal. Interested to see how this plays out on a regular basis. Wife will come with me as she actually wants to compete in June with me.

Didn't really do any program per say. Just did some challenging triples. Will decide exactly how I want this to play out next week. My buddy is doing RTS training and wants me to jump on that, I like 5/3/1 except for with deads(hate high reps). We shall see. Just wanted to get back.

Oh, that Texas bar though, nice haha

That's awesome you've got yourself a real gym now. I was tired of lookin at that d-bag in the background of all your deadlift videos doing power cleans.

Any interest in Cube v3/Kingpin?

Yay, real gym! I'm hitting up LA Fitness today. Mom got us 15 day free passes. I might end up on the news for swatting someone.

You a crossfitter now? Son...

lol

I don't know how you stand it in there, guy. I saw a guy do chest supported rows with five plates. He used the chest pad to lever himself up to do them upright. I was thinking "I've seen a guy do that before, but his name was Andy Bolton."

Nice work Rob! I need a Texas power bar in my lifee.

It's sweet...but honestly any bar is better than an LA Fitness Bar lol

lol the things people do at LA...and they think the same about us.

Some interest. I am gonna look at it again today. I read my buddies RTS template and it looks interesting, but complex. 5/3/1 has been really good to my bench though soooooo...decisions

Enjoy? lol

lol

I am disappoint? And no sir. This gym did seems sweet so far. They even have yoke walks, tires, prowler, and all that good stuff. The back half of my body feels destroyed today, and my abdominal muscles.

Just googled Andy Bolton and not sure if you were impress or lol? haha

People do whacky **** at LA. Notice how all benching is done with feet on the bench or even lifting legs. RDLS to the floor with super light weight and flexion ab moves for the win!

Well, Andy Bolton did them correctly. I had just gotten done doing my chest supported row sets with a plate and a quarter/two plates. This guy stood on the floor instead of the foot plates and deadlifted the weight with all his might so that he could stand perfectly upright and mess with the leverage of the machine to say he could do more weight. He would have done a set with six plates, but he couldn't get it out of the rack.

I did notice the 65lb RDLs to the shoetops! I was wondering what that was about.

OHHHH I gotch. You see some whacky stuff man. A lot of egos of getting the heaviest weight possibly on random lifts. Give it a few more visits lol

Rob given your awesome performance at the meet I would say stick with what u been doing, why change just for the sake of changing imo

Yea we posted at the same time. I am thinking just keep deads at 3/5/1 so I am not deading for 8 reps at a heavy weight. I am some what prone to injury when I lose form so high reps with heavier weights scare me a little. The program has been great. You guys are right.

Thanks fellas!

Probably gonna take two weeks bc holidays are making planning workouts hard. We shall see. I'll start getting my numbers together.
