napalm: 12 weeks to WPC Worlds...ya, really...

Bringing back memories here. They were my second concert ever and last band I was in covered a lot of STP and AIC. Good stuff man.

Saw them at LollaPalooza 2, Orlando, Fla, 1992, for first time! Some of these guys weren't born yet, lol.

Haha I seem them in 1997 or 1998...can't remember. It was 7th grade for me. Dad hooked me up since I had good grades.

LOL, my equivalent to that was ZZ Top in 1984. Pretty sure my dad and his friend, who brought me and my friends, got stoned separately from us doing the same.

So yeah, I am as old as dirt, lol. But not quite Napalm old -- nor as strong and jacked or caustic, lol.

AIC may be my favorite band of all time...for sure in my top 3.

I skipped football practice in college in 93 to see them & Screaming Trees in Omaha. I paid dearly for it at practice the next day, but SO worth it.

Holy fcking breaking news: tigers trade prince fielder for Ian kinsler

Miggy to first all day. Fielder underperformed in the playoffs, but that's never a good reason for the move. Depends on how much they eat, if at al. If it's not much, I see a big splash move from Detriot

Ugh, the lesbian PT I think has a bit of a sadistic streak in her.

Started out w band work then went into some plantar flexion stuff on this half rubber ball thing. Those weren't too bad. Then she had me do some standing calf raises - most of my weight was on my left side though. These were hard. Then some stretching and...

Wait for it

Air half squats holding onto a bar!!!!!!!!!
Suffice it to say these were brutal. This was the first time I even tried to do a squat movement since the injury. After that she took the stick and mashed the hell out of my calf and anterior tib.

<----really really stiff right now...

You squattin fiend! I knew we couldn't keep you away.

My r calf is like 2/3 the size it was a month ago
:(

Like my boss tells me whenever I hurt myself on the job or he breaks one of his tools, that'll grow back.

better your calf than your cawk. Just keep jelq'ing it, it'll grow.

If you don't recover quickly, that dog is going to have more muscle in its head than you have all over. That is one stout beast!

Lol, she's 79 lbs. my wife runs her like 15-20 miles /week. All she wants to do is run. She is any other dogs worst nightmare, muscle and endurance.

She is like an Olympic athlete, and I ain't bull.****ing...

Clear your PMs

Haven't been able to find much on the learning curve for this thing. It's inevitable now, Detroit barbell here I come...

Just stay patient with it. My first time to bench in a shirt was in August 2012 and I didn't successfully touch and press until March 2013. There were stretches were I didn't use it for months, though, as you can't bench in a shirt solo.

Roger that. I just emailed one of the Detroit barbell guys that was at worlds to introduce me to the owners. Hopefully he'll get back w me this week...

Bench

Warmup: internal rotations 75 total

Bar x 1k
95x2x10
135x2x8
155x2x7
185x2x5
225x2x2

V-bar push downs 80x5x10

Dips - 5 sets of 7, strict as hell, I suck at these but plan on adding 1 rep/week.

Thoughts:
For a guy that's been doing 531 for 2 years, today was a lot of reps. I'm going to plug what I did at worlds and go back to 531. For my shoulders it's the right thing to do. I'll keep dips in as accessory, but maybe I'll do a bbb sort of thing w like 60% or something...

Wholotta reps. Lookin forward to seein you press in the shirt though

Waiting to hear back from Tim before I give JJ a call. Should make it out to DB this week.

Gonna pick up the shirt Friday. I'm excited, if it's that small for Ryan, it'll prolly fit me good. Wife isn't happy but oh well...

That volume will serve you well in the hypertrophy arena, Napalm! Nice sesh, 225 for some doubles sans leg drive is good work!

Thanks brotato, yeah, back was flat on the bench. Still gotta do a lot of raw work, even after I get the shirt.

Thinking about getting in the shirt once, maybe twice a month to start...

I train occasionally with a shirted guy, he does Westside (I didn't ask him what he does for ME) but with that you can learn the shirt and keep the raw work going good on speed day. He's doing Westside for bench, Cube Kingpin for pulls, and he's got an interesting rotation for squats that's well beyond the scope of this post. (Raw for squats and pulls, Katana shirt).

He's a master class guy that's had his fair share of shoulder problems and a fake hip, so he knows about working around stuff. He uses a Titan Ram to bridge the gap between raw and shirted (doesn't go over 275 raw, but he's 500+ shirted) and keep his shoulders safe.

I freaking love my slingshot. I recommend it or its variants napalm. Bell's stuff is showing up in all the videos of lifters I follow. Especially dem gangsta wraps.

PT today:

Hardest day since I started. First off after 10 minutes on the bike, concentric/eccentric stretches on a half foam roller, round side down, 5 sets of ten. Then some towel stretches and some standing stretches. Next up, the hardest thing yet: controlled step downs from a 4 inch step. I felt like a freakin retard it was so hard, 5 sets of 10. Finished w the round plastic thing w a half ball on the bottom. The goal is to keep the edge of the thing on the ground while doing circles at the ankle.

Anterior tib and gastroc/soleus are really fatigued right now...

Edit: I did some one foot balance things too, right def weaker than left...

Lucky for you prince fielder left. Otherwise there's be no turkey in Detroit. Happy thanksgiving big guy
