Sean's Powerlifting Journey

See my edit. That's an outrageous thing to try, man. Brass Ballz of the Week Award goes to you, my friend.

I saw that too. Last week my right knee swam around a bit too. There's no pain, what seems like no stability issues. Maybe it's the wraps.

And thanks buddy. I just need the rest of my body to catch up

I swim a lot in my wraps, I know the feeling. Your body is all there, your form just isn't as comfy and natural on the other lifts. You think about them a lot (maybe overthink), but when you squat, you just drop in there and make it happen. That will come in time.

Well said good sir.

Side note: Bodyweight is around 215. I'll be hittin up more prowler and some stair stepper when it's TOO cold out, just to maintain some better body composition. I haven't dipped in a week. The cravings and lethargy passed, so now there will be some weight gain, and increased vascularity.

More work w/o wraps?

I've had plenty wrapless days, and much more than I did in the past. I think it's been more wrapless than wrapped. Being in wraps changes things though, and these were the first time in these wraps. I'll see how it is the next squat session, which is a heavy day. I'm hoping it's just a movement pattern issue.

I just wanna know how nobody has commented on the granny print couch cushion??
That was some crazy weight though man, good work!

I don't know Sean, if I was gonna copy a movement pattern, it'd be yours.

Methinks your big muscles are getting stronger at a faster rate than your small muscles...

Need to get my groove back in this wraps. Need to sit back a bit harder in the hole.

You, my friend, are a remarkable man and specimen. It really is a gift to see you do what you. Your form is something to envy, for sure, as is your hawtness. You just make it all look so easy -- because you are so well trained, smart and disciplined.

Looking really bad ass, boss man! Really good stuff.

I think it may be sad that when im not at work I check these logs about every 1\2 hr to make sure I dont miss anything or get to far behind lol

Hey man, do you have any good hip mobility exercises that you've used successfully? I do Agile-11, I'm just looking for anything and everything I can get.

But yes. Lotsa stuff. What's up with yours?

You, sir, are kind. Though I secretly know you're jealous of my bald/balding head.

I'm familiar with Kelly Sterrett and his work, but I didn't realize SuperD had mobility vids. Thanks.

A lot of his is similar to Kelly Sterrett, and they've done videos together I believe. More tools for the toolbox. I stick with a lateral hip distraction, hip opener, and ER/IR stuff, then random stuff when I need.

SuperD has good shoulder stuff and a hip reset, which is cool

Whole lot of heavy squatting, guess I need to try the Grippers now.

Secret outed. But why stop at head, lol?

I prefer your belly button, kind sir.

I like how they lock in and don't budge. They just leave a gnarly thread pattern into your skin for 2 hours. How's the back?

It's not terrible, but still achy. I'm the board bitch and mono runner right now. That's about all I can do from a gym perspective. I have some sessions at a chiro that I need to set up.

I bet you'll be lifting again in a month.

Can you pretend to be a bodybuilder at least? Get some light stuff in?

That's the plan. I have a tentative plan on everything except for rows. It'll have to be light on them. Almost all of lower body will have to be scrapped outside of lunges and BSS.

No doubt about it, gotta love Super D. The one I've been doing with success was similar to his wing maneuver.

When I did it KStarrs way, with the arm behind the back, it just straight ****ing hurt. When I mobilized it like SuperD did, I had instant increased ROM for overhead work. Though I attempted dumbell flys and I couldn't go past 35 degrees lol

See, that's how I did it, KStarr's way. At first it hurt, but now I'm a ton more opened up in that specific movement than I was before. I think it freed up my bicep a little, too. No more adhesions. Though most of that I credit Rodja for suggesting DB preachers.

At least one of us is getting healthier.

Looks like we got a little bodybuilding going on here. Like it.

how many days a week do you squat? I feel that way on DL days now, it's pissin me off!!

Just once. May do heavy fronts after deadlift. I take a day off after pulling and benching, then just do some little stuff to move blood after squat day. I work 2 on 2 off though so it's shifts every other week to where I squat after bench, and have the day off after squatting. (I don't squat at work so that's why it switches)

I lifted in the morning today. I'm not a morning guy.

Thanks for posting that video. I forgot half of those exercises. Just wish I had a damn kettlebell!

Edit: did the band wrapped around the back to a straight arm type thing and it slipped off and whacked me. Got some more bertstare.jpg than usual.

20 minutes HIT on the stair stepper (fast/slow/repeat)

Cambered Bar Ab Rollouts/Half-KneelingAnti-Rotation Cable Press

Bit of shoulder prehab

Went to the Air Force gym because it's close. I hate it. "Im really the only dude my size that can put up 2 plates each side for more than 1 rep"- Says the 135lb Airmen sitting on the hammer strength chest press.

Lol, re 135 lbs and the brag.

Nice sexy workout there, Suzane Somers -- endorser of the thigh master, for edification of youz youngsters. :)

Tee Cummins, just recently introduced to him myself. He's built like a shyt brickhouse, too. Too bad he's giving up competing already. I imagine he'll be back.
