Jim: Performance is King Log.

Maxing on deads can be hit or miss. What I mean is you may have had 375 in you but doing 365 may have taken it out of you.

Still awesome workout man. Enjoy the feast!

I'm sure I could have, just not today.

I did do 300x8 on Friday too lol.

Gotta agree with Rob. You certainly have to choose wisely with deadlift attempts, at meets and in training. Don't be too worried about it, I'd wait until meet day and make 375 a second attempt.

That was my initial plan, I expect to open around 320 (because I could pull that on the crappiest day in the world)

Feeling good so far today.

Foam rolled a little this morning, not abnormally tight.

Taking cissus again, woke up last night with some awesome knee pain. Oh, how I hate genetics.

You gona do a meet big dog?

I looked again the other day for one but can't find anything except the RPS one herd is doing and I'm not gona be ready for that.

Freakin awesome, tear it up man.

I agree. I need to figure out one for my first.

Subbin late but in - gotta catch up a bit here -

No conditioning for me yesterday. Was beat up after work, and then the rain came and I just wanted to eat and relax (I'm a bum).

Had a great workout today though! Took some extra time warming up, working my groove on the bench press today. It's been a while since I've benched (doing OHP) so I had to make sure I could do it right.

ME Upper

Pre: 3/4 - 1 Scoop Stimul8
Intra: Water

Warmup: Foam Roll Mid Back (arch around roller), LAX Ball Pec/Rear Delt/Bicep, Band Pull Aparts, 'Y' Pull Aparts,
Bench Press: 45x10 (alternating grips to find my strongest), 135x10 (alternating grips, and playing with leg position), 185x4 (felt off), 135x5 (work the groove a little more)

Work Sets: +wrist wrap 205x2, 215x2, 225x2 (PR, +1 rep) Note: First with 225 was good, elbows flared early on second rep but I still completed it.

Close Grip Bench: 155x15, 155x12, 155x10

a1. T-Bar Row: 140x10, 230x10x2
a2. High Pulley Face Pull: 100x10, 120x10x3

b1. Chest Supported HG Shrugs: 70x15, 90x15, 115x15 (on the Chest Supported TBar setup)
b2. BB Drag Curls: 60x8x3

Notes: Sweating a lot. The biceps were pumped during the first superset, which made the contraction on the face pulls ridiculous. The first superset was about 30 seconds between each exercise going from on to the other and back. The second superset was with about 1 minute between supersets and 15 seconds between the exercises in the superset. Had a lot of energy today and focus was on point. Finally starting to get it together with the bench press, all reps were done with a complete stop and as explosive of a turn around as possible, 225 was smooth. Went for 230 but lost it on the way down (turned into a bounce, so I scrubbed it and had the spotter take it). Leg drive felt good (for the first time ever) and it came up quick off of my chest. This is good, because I needed this day to work well so I could have some ideas on what to open with on the 3rd. As with the DL, this is my last heavy bench, the rest will be for 4-5 at the lowest.

This is from Thursday, RE Lower.

As mentioned, it was an awful workout. The weights were heavy, my stomach felt strange, joints ached, and I just couldn't loosen up for the life of me.

Pre: Last bit of Stimul8, maybe 3/4 scoop, maybe less. It was hard to tell.
Intra: Water

Warm-up: Foam Roll ITB/Add./HF/Quad/Vast.Med., LBBS Bar x 5, BB Mash ITB/Add./HF/Vast.Med., LAX Ball Glute/Calf/Pec/Upper Back, LBBS bar x 15 (still tight. wtf?), Band External Rot (Hips), Band External Rot. (shoulder), BR Hip Flexor Stretches LBBSx45x10, 135x8, 185x8, 225x8 (all heavy??)

LBBS: 275x6x2, 245x6 (cut volume, weights were heavy and my knee was aching something fierce)
Rack Walkouts: 315x1, 405x1

Front Squat: 135x5, 185x5, 205x5

4" Deficit Pulls: 185x6, 225x6 (standing on 2 plates)

Band Assist GM: 275x18 (13, 5) Note: wanted 25, back cramped up and I couldn't get anymore...

Notes: Weights were heavy, obnoxiously heavy actually. Ended up cutting a lot of volume out of this session, was supposed to do 4x12 on squats, 5x5 FS. Neither of those happened. Still sweating a lot and had a good amount of energy, but the strength just wasn't there. Oh well, I guess the two ME session this week really took it out of me

Went home, felt like butt and slept for 12 hours. (Had some of dat dere diarrhea as well). Still feeling relatively weak today, weight holding ~178.

Then I went in on Friday for conditioning and mobility.

Pre: 2 Uncut
Intra: water

Spent 1-1.5 hours foam rolling, stretching, and doing prehab stuff.

Prowler Sprints: +0 x 60yds, +45 x 60yds, +90 x 60yds

Then I ran to the bathroom with the diarrhea, came out, felt awful, packed up and left. Wanted to work back down, but got sidelined. Ridiculous.

Went in today and found out that I am still all beat up.

Lowering volume slightly this coming week, will not hit anything for less than 4 (except squat, I need 1 more good squat session to solidify openers and may go for a 3 on Monday).

Today was RE Upper.

And for probably the first time in my entire life, my chest is SORE. Like, painfully sore. Sore to touch even. Which is a good thing, not because being sore is good, but because my chest is puny and I've never been able to get it to work (even when doing chest specific exercises) so I apparently did something right on Wed.

Pre: 1.5 Scoop Enhanced (Which, btw, is awful when put under the tongue. Chalky, and kind of burns the bottom of the tongue)
Intra: Gatorade + MBCAA

Warm-up: Foam Roll Back/Add./ITB/HF, LAX Ball Upper Back/Pec, Band Pull Apart, Y Pull Apart, External Rotation
Bench Press: Bar x 10 x 2 (actually felt heavy...), 95x6, 135x6,

Work: 185x8, 185x5, 135x12 (dafuq lol?)

JM Press: 95x5, 65x5, 75x5 Note: Literally felt nothing in my tricep when doing these today....

1 Arm Rope Ext.: 60x5x3 (better)

a1. HG Chins: BWx8x3
a2. Low Pulley Face Pull: 100x12, 120x11, 110x12

Called it. Had some other stuff planned, but decided that the training value wasn't there. As I mentioned, lowering volume this coming week and the weights are going to be a bit lighter going forward. Going to squat on Monday, spending tomorrow doing Mobility stuff and recovering. Gotta go into this meet as fresh as possible, so I won't be beating myself up for the next 3 weeks.

Yeah, man. Listen to your body. Meet day is NOT the day to head in beat up, take it from a guy who has bombed. My suggestion, simply food for thought: take it lighter this week, then last week have a really high intensity, really low volume week. Like, hit an opener and maybe a reverse band second attempt, do the one exercise you think is the most important assistance is for you, and get out.

Deload squats

Pre : 4 scoop OG Protocol.
Intra : Gatorade + MBCAA

Warmup: foam roll ITB/Add/Quad/hammie LAX ball lower back/HF

Not really tight today, foam rolling more tomorrow. Maybe go for a walk with the wife.

Squat: 175x3x3

Hyper: BWx20x2

Front Squat: 135x10x2

WG Cable Row: 80x12, 70x12x2

Worked up a decent sweat, nothing heavy or strenuous. Decent pump in the PC, not much else to mention honestly.

Not sure who follows "Army WTF moments" but there is a Brigade in the 82nd on lockdown right now.

I will neither confirm nor deny being part of that unit, but I will say that the gym is probably not happening tonight.

Ermahgerd Jim updates!?!

Not really, but I did hit the gym last week.

Ill update them; eventually.

Bench deload last Thursday, body deload Saturday, Squat opener on Monday.

They were decent, played with my foot angle yesterday. Knee was a little sore but I may or may not have found a decent way for me to squat :dunno:

Came in looking for the long awaited use of Alphamine and Enhanced.

Found Akon lyrics and left doubly disappointed.

Lol I've used enhanced a few times. Actually had a scoop yesterday, although no alphamine yet.

I have both flavors though, just waiting to be used

Still need to use my ABE too!

Triply disappointed.

We can no longer be friends.

Figured you'd get a kick out of this. Medical says I'm too swole for my own good

Careful with toes pointed our too much. Lose torque. Do whatever makes you strongest though

Lol right now I'm just sticking with whatever hurts the least, after this meet I'm going to play with my foot position and work back up in weight with a more moderate stance.

I need to be more swole. Like 100+ lbs more swole....

Looks like Sean is taking Jim's place on my friend list. ;)

Second that...

For shame. For shame. Haha

Been going wider on squats and its helped keep my torso upright. Not as wide as my sumo but close. On sumo my shins are at the rings and it creates a great upright position for me as well. Really enjoying the change I'm both sumo and wide stance squats as opposed to conventional and medium stance...

I don't want to put my hips through that lol.

I'm gonna be using mine soon.

Probably around September. I've got 2xABE, 2xTP, and 1 OG Erase (I'm gonna taper it, I have a second but I don't expect to need that much AI. Especially since TP has mild estrogen control in it already)

Then I'll run the OG AB I have with Prime probably around December-ish.

Alphamine will happen, eventually. I just don't need that yet. Too skinny.

Already enhanced my training today and pretty soon I will be enhancing my 20 hour drive home. or down, not sure which yet....

Good luck man! Have some fun and crush some weights.
