2300 calories at 290 lbs... Seems toooo low...

Damn! Keep up the good work!
Good to know that this is working for you so well.
Keep us posted!
Thanks, been killing it... Averaging 10-11 separate workouts per week...

The one thing i am amazed at is the eating every 3 hours thing... There is really no scientific evidence supporting that it is any better than eating less meals but it is working for me... It is helping me consume more protein than i ever have (350 grams per day)... No cravings at all due to constant blood sugar... I am really impressed.

Everything is easier, i have gotten a bit weaker due to the sever cut but i will fix that when this 6 weeks is over...

What are you doing for HIIT! Great progress! Is it the battle ropes and tire flipping? How often a week! Most suggest sprinting for HIIT but obviously what your doing I'd working well!

Hoakie is my split:
i just came off about 6 months of hitting everything twice a week... I am enjoying working out each part once a week now...
sun: back day, its also my cheat day... big meals after my workout
mon: (am) liss/hiit | (pm) off, usually grilling my food
tue: (am) heavy bag | (pm) legs
wed: (am) liss/hiit | (pm) shoulders
thurs: (am) liss/hiit | (pm) arms
fri: (am) liss/hiit | (pm) off
sat: work out once, hit chest, sleep alot

I do hiit on the ropes alot... as the week goes on i tend to increase my time off in between rounds because i am burning off the stored glycogen from Sundays cheat meal.. Stress tends to drive my hiit as well. If i am angry or upset over something i have to do hiit to release the pressure. I do all of it in a violent explosive manner after a 15 minute warmup on the precore machine... I try and get a 10 minute cooldown after a 15 minute hit session..

I really need to get a more sensible system for HIIT in regards to my leg day, my squat is in the dumper, i know its mostly because of diet but my legs are dead...

one more thing... I looked like dried dog sh!t in the high 250s Friday morning.... I weighed myself upon waking... Ate a steak and potatoe (with salt) put on about 8 lbs and looked and felt completely different.

I am looking forward to this 6 week drive being over so i can start to really examine how carbs are effecting my mood, performance and looks... The clean fats and proteins are easy... Its the carbs/salt that are wicked.

Great info! I really appreciate the breakdown!

Any updates?

2 weeks to go....
Trying to get some pics together...
not going to weigh myself at all over the next 2 weeks, just going to hit macros and workouts... When i weigh myself too often it ****s with my head....

I feel you on that. I'm prepping for a show and am now under four weeks out. I'm trying to drop into a lower weight class and am continually looking leaner but not losing weight. Drives me bonkers, but unfortunately I have to weigh myself nearly every day to monitor how my body handles my twice per week refeeds.

I feel like i am one potatoe away from gaining 8lbs of water!!!

5 - 6...

But i am doing it kind of wierd... I warm up on a precore 15 mins, bang out some type of HITT (15 mins) then do another 10 minute cool down/positive thought brainwashing...

Okay cool. I'm at about 3 sessions a week, but felt burnt out very quickly last week. I like the positive thought brainwashing part! Whatever you're doing, it's working!

This week i will hit 12 total sessions between cardio and weights... My cardio is not that strenuous outside of the 15 mins of hiit....

positive affirmation time:
i go over all my day, all my cooked meals... What i will be doing at work... All that i want to get done that day while cooling down... Think about any slip ups the past couple of days and just figure out how to avoid them...

Same. I have been sticking to mostly sprint stuff and tire flips, but don't recover as quickly. LISS just makes me sad. Might give epsom salt baths a try. That's a good affirmation. :)

Weighed in at 252 this morning... Should i change the title of the thread?

That's about 40 lbs in 4 weeks? Unless my math is incorrect.

Side note: I purchased Trutein PB Chocolate. It's much more mild than I would have liked. Still prefer Cinnabun!

Where do you stand now?

and i have switched to a 93%lean ground turkey as a staple (chicken was killing me).... Mashing up a yam, tossing that in with the turkey... Soooo goood!

249 lbs before my cheat day.... The fact that i have been losing this weight while maintaining at least one cheat day a week is pretty cool... It has to be the hiit....

How's strength holding up?

Squats are in the dumper but everything else is ok.... Anything over 400 on squats just feels heavy, its hard to explain... Going to start adding back some calories in a couple weeks now... I am sure it will come back with a vengeance...

Nope I totally understand the "feeling heavy" thing. Squats are the main struggle for me when I'm (rarely) in deficit. First to go, last to come back.

Oddly my bench and DL really don't take a hit.

It's really no surprise actually. The leaner you get the more cheat meals you may need. I ran a prep where I had two heavy cheats a week deep into my diet and I never stalled losing fat. They're very important for many reasons.

I think i am burning a hella ton of calories with the HIIT too... In a couple of weeks i am going to start reverse dieting to see where i am from a maintenance standpoint...

What's reverse dieting!

I weigh around why you weigh and my coach has me eating 2100. He stressed more protein less carbs and I feel great! My lifts are doing good and I feel better just overall! In my opinion it is not to low.

What's reverse dieting!

Reverse dieting is where you slowly add carbs and fat back in after a deficit instead of going hog wild. This minimizes post-cut fat gain and allows you to find a more accurate maintenance level for your new body composition. It will also allow you to find a good baseline to start gaining lean muscle without sacrificing too much leanness.

ended up at about 249 - 251... Going to get calipered this weekend...

Going to start reverse dieting by doubling the amount of carbs in breakfast (first week). Each week i will choose another meal to double the calories in till i get to 300 grams of carbs a day...

I may have missed it but how long will you be eating at this level and is there another step or three to his method?

I did this for the 6 week cellucore challenge..... Dropped 50 lbs and 6-7 percent bf in 6 weeks... averaged 10-11 workouts per week, morning Hiit, evening weights...

I am going to add some calories and do a more conventional diet now (more calories)

I started the thread because i was amazed at how low my calories where at 290+lbs

Always <3. I am so excited to see your after pics, huggy. Gonna get your tan on? You're waiting until the last minute and keeping us in suspense! :)

been hitting weights 6 days a week, so my carbs are higher on those days.. When i take a day off from the gym i probably get about half the amount of carbs...

Was sitting at about 150grams of carbs, now i hit between 190 and 210 and look a ton fuller, feel stronger... I also added a little lean red meat to one daily meal as well...

Awesome. Are you prepping for peak week?

Not really, i have been eating so consistent that it has been easy to examine what little changes do to my diet...

before and after... Ton of work to do around the middle but my skin has already started bouncing back a bit.. We will see what happens....
