No.

Here is a variation. The traditional band pull apart is the same, except you don't stand on the band.

Thanks Jim. 3D pull aparts are awesome.

I think band over and backs are what you're talking about. I fixed the link for band pull aparts and it should be good to go.

Here's band over and backs.

Thanks guys. I was def. talking about the band over and backs haha. Appreciate it.

Today is the busiest day that I've had in a while. I couldn't make the gym this morning due to work obligations, but was able to stop in for an arm session on my way home. It felt weird being there in the early evening and not training fasted; however, it went well. I still have a lot of work to do this evening, but hopefully I can check back in with AM at some point.

Rope Pushdown / Seated DB Curl
130x12 / 40x8
140x12 / 45x8
150x12 / 45x8
160x12 / 50x8

-Palms up the entire ROM/hard flex at the top for curls. I did 4 reps with one arm and then 4 with the other. This was done twice each set for a total of 8 reps per arm.

BB Curl / Overhead Cable Extension
80x8 / 100x10, x5 (partials)
80x8 / 120x10, x5
80x8 / 140x10, x5
80x8 / 145x10, x5

-hard squeeze on bar /stayed in sweet spot for curl ROM

-Extensions ROM: Pulling from a deep stretch behind/below head and fully extending arms straight above head. Partials out of stretched position.

Close Grip Push-Up / BB Reverse Curl
25 / 50x15
17 / 50x15
15 / 50x15
13 / 50x15

-Push-Ups: Hands directly at shoulder width with elbows tucked in. Slow descent until torso touches ground (with straight back) and then drive up to lockout.

Standing Calf Raise / Dorsiflexion
10x8 / 10x30-50 reps (until tibialis goes numb)

-I added weight each set and didn't rest between them.

-15 partials out of stretched position on last 2 sets of calf raises.

Thanks wasme. I was very happy that I didn't have to skip the gym. I have another very busy day, but can hopefully relax by game time.

You and me both. Another cup win would hold me over to Xmas lol

Haha seriously.

I train after work every day and last night didn't get home until 8 pm. Was going to have dinner and crash but then saw another Breezy update and told myself I won't become a Breezy-style beast by sittin' around. Got in an hour shoulders/back session, ate all I could and crashed into bed haha.
Finally tried out the Meadows rows you seem so fond of, loved it.

Keep killing it!

Thanks for the kind words man. Great job getting a workout in!

Awesome! They've become my favorite type of row.

That's the plan.

Lol. If I can help motivate anyone that's great!

I've got a ton of work to do today, but am enjoying a carb up. Last week went well with about 700g and decent caloric surplus (good muscle fullness/belly fat was down at end of week). I'm going to see how I do with 800g and ~400 calories more.

Here are a few items on today's menu.

I already had pancakes and will have pasta and chicken later as well.

My leg session was great this morning and I'll try to post an update this afternoon.

Get that pho Breezy!

I remembered it after I went shopping for everything and won't be able to get back to the store. I'll pick some up this week so I have it for next time though.

No issue with all those simple sugars not make you feel like crap at night/next day?

Peanut Butter Toast Crunch / Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tarts.. I love shopping in the USA lol.

It's actually the opposite. My first couple of carb ups were almost all low sugar/GI foods and they gave me a massive headache the majority of the day/night. I've felt great and looked better since adding more sugar/high GI carbs. I move away from the sugar as the day goes on. My last 2 meals will have jasmine rice and brown rice pasta.

Haha I would've thought they were available in Canada as well.

Too much of high fiber foods on a carb up is no bueno in my experiences. I want that cereal though...I have a cereal addiction and could probably eat that whole box in one sitting. :o

Yeah, luckily I haven't had that issue with any of my carb ups. The cereal is amazing. I'm having a tough time deciding if I want a 5th cup or an additional pop tart lol...I've got another hour to decide.

I was very happy with today’s workout overall. My leg strength seems to be improving, despite continuing to drop weight.

1.25 Leg Curl
2 warm-up x8
80x10
90x10
95x10
100x10

-1.25 curl: lower the weight, bring it up 4-6 inches, and return to the bottom before going all the way up. That equals 1 rep.

Explosive Squats
135x6
135x6
225x6
225x6
315x6
315x6
405x6
405x6

-I lost some explosiveness at 405, but wasn’t grinding out reps.

Pause Squats
365x2 (4-5 sec pause)
385x2 (4 sec pause)
315x3 (9-10 sec pause)

-I changed my approach from last week and added a considerable amount of weight. 385 started feeling heavy following the previous sets, but made 315 feel pretty easy.

Leg Press
3 warm-up x4
630x8
720x8
770x8
810x6

-3 sec negative/drive to ¾ lockout

Split Squat (HS squat/lunge)
50x15
50x15
50x15

-constant tension/no lockout

-30 sec quad stretch per leg after each set

GHR

BW+25x8

-30 sec hamstring stretch per leg after each set

Those squats are strong man.

Mirin.

And GHR +25lb is ridiculous.
are you keeping your hips forward during the entire rom? I have trouble doing that with just BW since I popped my hammy a few Weeks back

Your the man buddy

Anytime dude.

Thanks ace. I'll have to see where I stand with standard BB back squats soon. It's been a while.

Yeah, I keep constant tension throughout the set. I could barely do 8 BW reps about 6 months ago. Doing them and ham killers pretty regularly has helped a lot.

I thought you were doing standard bb squats

Thanks man.

I was, but haven't really tested my strength with them in months. I've been doing high rep, explosive, pause, or 1.5 squats.

yeah aside from slow positives on the prrs protocol, I always squat explosively, whether it box, pause, or standard.

I couldn't imagine being as explosive on 1.5 but I need to get on those for some TUT and quad growth

385 with a four sec pause is ridiculous. Probably 450-500 ?

Haha I would've thought they were available in Canada as well.

Whenever I cross the border or to Texas where my brother in law lives, and go in a grocery store I am blown away at the flavor varieties..

Nice leg workout.. your pause squats are impressive as per norm.

Good first period!

I try to be explosive with all squats as well, but have been stopping as soon as I lose max explosiveness with "explosive squats".

Before starting MD, I could hit a little over 500. Hopefully, I'm still in that range.

I didn't know that it was that different. I was blown away by McDonald's having pizza last time I was in either Quebec or Montreal lol. We could use some poutine around here as well...I think I'll make some next carb up.

Thanks man.

Let's see a good third!

Yes we certainly do not have the flavor variety.

McDonald's ditched the pizza. The funniest is on the east coast McLobster lol (I am sure you have that though).

Poutine....ROCKS!

Bruins...rock more! Double OT... sweet sweet victory!

Yeah, I haven't been to Canada in years. I used to go every year for tournaments or camps. Haha everywhere has "lobster" here.

Sure does! I'll definitely be making some.

Great game! I think that was the best the Pens have...and it wasn't enough.

You must have bulletproof knees brother! That's awesome!

Haha thanks dude!

!

Well you will have to change that at some point! And bring a truck load of CCCD Quest Bars, and OEP protein! lol

Totally agree with you. If Rask keeps it up we're golden.

20x15
15x15
15x15

DB Swings (heavy partial laterals)
50x30
60x30
65x30

-These were a lot easier than the last time that I’d done them. I believe it’s been a few months.

Cage Press (explosive)
2 warm-up x5
135x5, x15 partials
135x5, x15 partials
155x5, x12 partials
155x5, x10 partials

-partials leaning in at the top of movement

I love the swinging movements now that you've gotten me onto them from the DB swings. I 'swing' my leg extensions and chest flyes and the burn is intense. It might not be 'ideal' but meh, I just wanna get Breezy hyooooge :D

Haha glad you like them Jiigzz. I've really enjoyed incorporating "partials" into my training as well; it's both fun and effective.

I have to ask you. You're dedication of fitness life is unreal. Do you have a future goal of some sort in competing ? Physique ? bodybuilding ? Sports ? Races ?

I am just glad you are sharing what you do as we all have learned a lot from you and try to copy what you do to a point.

Thanks.

You're actually the third person to ask me that in the last 2 days. I'm strongly considering competing (looking into available competitions). I'd also love to move my career into something fitness related and have been trying to come up with a plan for the last couple months.

I appreciate your kind words fumoney. I'm extremely passionate about this lifestyle and am glad that others can be motivated by it. It's a great feeling hearing that you or anyone else are learning from following along. I still have plenty to learn as well and try to expand my knowledge daily.

I haven't learned anything from breezy except horizontal presses, cage presses, reverse machine presses, reeves variation deadlifts...uh, I guess I've learned a lot. Disregard.

If I ever get to open my own facility I am going to hire breezy as the face of my company. :p
