Article: Are You Lifting Too Heavy?

Great read. So many people should be reading this. It's not all about 1RMs, folks.

For people powerlifting like myself, it's kind of about the 1RM ;)

This obviously isn't relevant to accruing maximum size, but to say people don't care what you lift in a gym is codswallop. Lots of people with different goals train at the same gym, and there will be lifters who will judge you by your strength - not that you should care what they think.

This needs to be herd more often. Wish I would have listened to both my body and my experience before a listened to those "heavy duty" fans.
Now I got a torn pec from going to heavy. My neuromuscular system was capable of moving the weight but my body wasn't.

I think the message might be that even if your ultimate goal is 1RM strength, training the lower weight/higher rep range is still essential to build the foundation for the maximal efforts.
