My gyno challenge.

For several years now ive had small gyno lumps that never really gave me much problem nor was very visible, however over the last several month they have gotten bigger and more inflamed. Between TRT and coming off an Msten cycle in January, things have gotten worse. Ive been to the doctor about it and have had a mammogram/ultrasound, testicular unltrasound, and labwork done to figure things out. Im still waiting on some direction from the doctor about what he wants to do about it, but in the mean time ive started on Letro at 1.5 mg for the past 5 days and it is considerably shrinking already. This letro is obviously legit as i lost 4 pounds of water weight the first day. Im already feeling blah and like the tin man, but all is worth it if i can reduce these nuggets. Sensitivity is already gone and my chest is looking pretty tight, so im going to give it another week at least before i switch to Aromasin for a cool down. Ive had to up the ibuprofen and fish oil the last couple days but as long as it doesnt get any worse than it is now, then i can ride it out for awhile. Anyone have any suggestions or related experiences to what im doing?? Thanks AM.

Quick update: Just about two weeks into my letro cycle and it is working like a charm. Left side lump is all but gone now and the right side is substantially smaller. I've also been running clomid at 25mgs eod and that seems to b helping as well. Will continue with this protocol for another week or so and then switch to Aromasin.

If your letro is dissolved in a solvent you might try adding a penetration enhancer and applying it topically. Below is a study where they found it was possible to get much higher concentrations to breast tissue when applied topically.
I'd post the link but I don't have enough posts. This method should help avoid side effects and possibly improve the wanted effects.
The transdermal patches for site-specific delivery of letrozole: a new option for breast cancer therapy.

"Compared with oral administration, the transdermalpatch for site-specific delivery of letrozole could produce high drug concentrations in skin and muscle and meanwhile obtain low drug level in plasma".

Actually I'm using capsules but the idea intrigues me about a topical solution which would be as effective if not more than a systemic form.

I'm glad you're having such a good luck with it all! I think my letro was bunk when I used it several months back (RC)

Thanks. I doubt it will destroy everything 100% but ill be happy with where its at now or a little better. Id like to stay on for awhile to make sure its eradicated but its also hard on your cholesterol among other things so ill do another week or so tops.

I've been trying it. I had surgery for gyno a couple years ago and the small amount of tissue they left started to swell on me a couple of months ago. I stopped it from growing and shrunk it a little with tamoxifen, tapered off and then switched to letro as tamoxifen always stops or slows my strength gains. I lost several pounds of water from the letro and my strength gaining stalled again but the nodule shrank to almost being non -existent.
So the last several days I've just been using it topically. I'd say the whole subcutaneous fat area on my chest shrunk some more but that may just be in my head as at this point there isn't much there to shrink anyway.

Hopefully others will try it. From looking at the studies, it should be more effective and have fewer side effects.

Thanks for your sharing your experience. It has definitely dried me up some but nothing drastic. I think being on TRT plus the EOD dose of clomid is helping to keep some estrogen floating around. Even still im able to tell that my strength is suffering some in the gym.

what are you using for your topical carrier?

Propylene glycol and this may sound odd but peppermint oil. I had some lying around and threw it in for the hell of it. It contains menthol which is a penetration enhancer.

I'm sure a better transdermal can be made but I figured with the potency of letrozole, it would work well enough. I've been using about .5 mg daily.

No problem sir.

Shoot I'd give it a shot if I were you. Personally, I don't mind holding water as much as I do being weaker.

I was rummaging around on pubmed earlier and came across this study below. Estrogen also helps up regulate glucose transporters. and I believe helps increase igf levels.

ER alpha is more responsible for breast tissue growth if I remember right btw. and I still can't post links so just the title.

have you used letro orally before? how you compare the effectiveness/results between oral vs topical?

just brewed up a few mL sample of topical letro:yup:

I have been using it orally for the last couple weeks. at .5 mg daily. I switched to topical a few days ago.
I hven't been able to weigh myself since switching and tomorrow will be the first heavy workout since switching. So I can't say yet if the weight loss I noticed the first week has changed or if my strength gains have sped up yet. My strength stalled on tamoxifen and then slowly started to go up during the oral letrozole at a level that seemed about normal.

So with topical I have just noticed the nodule on one side of my chest shrink a little more become a little less tender. It's pretty much gone now so it's hard to gauge. I previously thought my chest overall was holding less water but I really cant tell.

Good luck with it!

So I switched to Aromasin tonight after two weeks on Letro. Just couldn't handle feeling like crap anymore. I've got plenty for another run at it maybe in a couple months but right now I'm pretty pleased from the outcome. Going to look into doing the topical method as well.

Quick update: Have been off my SSRI now for 4 days (after 10 years of use) and already my nipples look perfect, tightened up. Upon further research ive found that SSRI's are notorious for raising prolactin levels by indirectly reducing dopamine levels. Well since being off the medication this seems to ring true. My last bloodwork done a month ago revealed elevated prolactin levels. No hard lumps anymore and nipples look great!! Couldnt be happier right now, other than the withdrawal symptoms of stopping the medication.

awesome bro and this is excellent info. hopefully you begin to feel "normal" sooner rather than later with the withdrawal. im sure thats gotta be pretty difficult

Thanks man. I think the only thing alleviating the symptoms and making it bearable is the pregnenolone that I've been taking as a supplement to TRT.

Have you considered tianeptine?
Not the cheapest thing but it is very pleasant and I just looked at study comparing it with the ssri citalopram and it stated that sress induced prolactin release is potentiated by citalopram only.

Thanks but no thanks! Im done being on AD's, i just dont feel like i need them anymore. Interesting about the prolactin issue from citalopram since that was what i was taking for the last few years.

I'm sort of in the same boat. I still take SAMe and curcumin but those are for more than depression. In case you consider it again, tianeptine, at least at normal dosing, does not cause any sort of dependence and can be stopped or started without side effects whenever.
