VERSA-1, Compound20, SS Forskolin-95 (8 weeks)

Ya it is an interesting vid...saw it a little while ago. Hope you get the stomach sorted out and that it isn't anything major.

Thanks bolt. My self-diagnosis looks to be correct; at least the doc thought the same. I've spent so much time studying the digestive and endocrine systems after my past issues that I was going to be upset if I was wrong lol.

I'm going to be on 2 antibiotics, so I'm not exactly sure what my plan is for supplementation. I'm about to go workout (doc was right by the gym), but I'll probably cool it with the supps when I start the meds.

Won't load for me. Is he walking around at the super market? I've seen that one.

Speaking of which went to trader joes again today and bought a lot of food, still not terribly expensive. I like his diet principles and have always subscribed to his way of thinking (well since 08?) but the gluten free, non-dairy, grass feed etc wasn't big but I'm trying it now. Plus I was in college so even if I would have read his stuff I wouldn't have been able to buy the fancy stuff lol.

Picked up some sprouted bagels, gluten free waffles, pancakes & bread. I'll be trying these as my post workout nutrition/carb sources. Nice that a bagel and a couple pieces of bread gives me almost an extra 20gr of protein!

That's the one.

I can usually walk out of there with 3-4 bags, spending $40-$60...not bad at all. I'm going to make the trip tomorrow. Do you have a shake before your post workout carbs or do you just wait to have a meal when you get home?

Since I have protein in my intra shake, I don't make it a point. I'd just come home and smash some cereal then eat a bit later. Now with the new carb sources ill have a 25hr shake when I get home with some carbs.

Thanks for the feedback sir. I plan to grab the same sources tomorrow. I tried to get some Gatorade powder today to try in my intra mix, but the store only had little packs of of it.

Day 25

The antibiotics seem to be helping a lot already. My stomach isn't very distended and I no longer have any pain when applying pressure to it. Hopefully I'll finally be able to get some decent sleep tonight.

I stopped by the gym today just to do some light cardio. I ended up walking on the treadmill for 45mins just to have a little activity in my day. I would've hit the weights if I'd gotten some more sleep last night and plan on doing so tomorrow.

I picked up a ton of food today and should be set for at least a week. I'm going to make some diet adjustments for the next month and see where that gets me. I'll be trying to avoid gluten and keep the rest of my food sources extra "clean". I picked up various forms of chicken, "grass fed" beef (hadn't been eating it very often), and turkey for my meat sources. I also grabbed different types of gluten free breads, jasmine rice, omega eggs, tons of fruits and veggies, and coconut oil.

I've decided to stick with supplementation, as I'm already well into my run and should be back in the gym tomorrow. I'll probably be off the antibiotics in a few days and be ready to rock at full health for month 2.

Stuck doing cardio....something you don't like to do..... Get better soon Breezy.

Yup, I can't stand it. It was kind of a last minute decision when I was going grocery shopping.

Thanks man. I'm currently feeling pretty good and with some quality sleep I think I'll be feeling great tomorrow. The biggest issue was stomach pain, which is nonexistent at this point. My appetite made a huge comeback late this afternoon as well...I'm actually hungry now and I ate an hour ago.

Good to hear you're feeling better bro. Look forward to seeing how the diet adjustments affect you (positively I hope) and cardio.....breezy.....whaaaaa?!?!? Haha

Thanks dude. Yeah, I'm hoping for more of a positive reaction as well haha. How's it going for you? I probably wasn't thinking straight from the meds...cardio is for the birds lol.

My appetite is officially back and as strong as ever. I couldn't go to bed without a little snack.

ground beef, red/green/yellow peppers, and onion in a brown rice wrap

The texture of a brown rice wrap is similar to wax paper if you're wondering lol. It was delicious though. I'll take my dramatic increase in hunger as a good sign.

Looks great, breezy. I'm gonna have to scoop up some of those wraps myself.

Thanks boss. I think they're under $3 for a bag of 6 at Trader Joes.

Glad you are feeling better man. I love the food you eat...I may have to steal some of the combos and stuff you buy (but eat smaller portions for myself :o ).

Damn man lost this log for a bit I guess!! Sorry to hear of the stomach issue but happy to hear its going away bro! I'll be pming you for food ideas later btw!

Thanks man. Although I'm feeling a little nauseous at the moment after drinking lemon juice in a glass of hot water. I decided to try JM's liver detox as well. I'm not sure if you have trader Joes in your area, but that's where I always get the majority of my food.

Thanks LTL! I should be back at full health in a few days. Sounds good brotha.

I actually had a Trader Joes run today. I buy quite a bit from there when I get a chance even though it isn't real close. :D

I'd take a little road trip if I had to as well. Luckily the last couple places I've lived had one close by. I actually have to drive by it on the way to my new gym, which is very convenient.

After mentioning that you like my food choices/meals I was thinking that I might put together a thread with a bunch of different meal options and recipes. I'll try to piece something together over the next few weeks/month.

I made it to the gym today, but my workout numbers are in my car (didn't record them on my phone today), it's late, and it's freezing. That being said, I'll have a full update posted tomorrow. My gym performance was decent, considering I've been sick.

Yeah, you should haha. There's quite a few around here, but I'm not sure if they're in every state.

No problem man. I figured it would be decent idea. I'll start jotting some stuff down and taking pictures of all the crap I eat lol.

Hopefully the stomach issues are clearing up; always a pain when something beyond immediate control interferes with the gym/ life. But whats a few days in the large scale of things; in any case you'll be back to killin' it as always.

Thanks Jiigzz. It definitely sucks having any unexpected setbacks, but you're right, and it could've been a lot worse. My progress might've been slowed for a couple weeks, but I still have plenty of time to make up some ground. I'm thinking about extending my V-1 run for a third month and might add something else at that point as well.

Day 26 (yesterday)

Here's a breakdown of yesterday's supplementation and workout.

Supplementation

VERSA-1: 1 cap 45mins pre workout

Compound 20: 2 caps 1 hour pre workout, 2 caps 8 hours later

Forskolin-95: 1 cap morning, 1 cap pre workout, 1 cap afternoon, 1 cap pre bed (100mg total)

Pre workout mix: 2 scoops Craze/100mg caffeine/3 scoops Core ABC

Modern BCAA: 2 scoops intra workout

Agmatine 500: 1 cap morning (about 45mins before breakfast), 2 caps 30mins pre workout

As shown above, I started using the Agmatine 500 from the IC deal. My arms had a serious pump not long into my workout, which was greater than what I've been experiencing without it. I'm unsure exactly how I'll be using it going forward, but will take it daily. I was happy with my gym performance, especially for not feeling 100%. Focus was strong and strength was decent, but energy was down slightly.

EZ Bar Reverse Curls (10sec rest)
2 warm-up x10
60x10
60x10
60x10
60x10

-I ran out of gas at 8 reps on the final set last week.

Rope Pushdowns (10sec rest/2sec squeeze)
120x10
110x10
100x10
90x8
70x9

-added a set/ target was 10 reps on all sets

HS Preacher Curl (single arm/flex at peak contraction)
45x12
55x12 (6 flex at peak/6 assisted)
60x12 ("/")

HS Seated Dip (3sec negative)
270x8
270x8
270x8
300x5 (5sec negative)

Incline Concentration Curls (face down on incline bench/hard squeeze)

25x8
25x8

-bicep stretch between sets

L-Extensions (incline bench)
20x15
25x15
25x15
30x8

Day 27

Today was a planned day off from the gym. I got a good amount of sleep last night and am feeling pretty good. I'll probably stop taking the antibiotics after tomorrow, as all stomach pain has been gone for a few days. I'm pretty excited to get back at full health and kill the rest of my run.

I still haven't checked my weight, but I feel like it could be down slightly. However, my appearance has definitely tightened up a little over the last few days and my stomach issue could've had me holding some extra weight (it certainly looked like it).

After being gluten free for the last few days, I'm feeling pretty light on my feet and free of any bloating. Obviously with my stomach issue clearing up simultaneously, I can't really contribute it to my diet at this point. Hopefully, the trend continues going forward.

Snack from this afternoon
Invalid Link Removed
6oz sliced roast turkey breast, uncured peppered turkey bacon pieces, sliced onion, and red leaf lettuce on a brown rice wrap

Very tasty.

I'll be in the gym tomorrow for a leg workout.

Nice update, back at it strong man! Nver seen incline conc curls.. Will give them a shot next week I think in place of standard ones..

Thanks man. I hadn't either until last week, but they're awesome. I actually have legit bicep DOMS for the second week in a row after years without it (not that DOMS necessarily equals a solid workout). I don't know to what extent the concentration curls added to it, but I'm sure they helped.

Here's a video for reference:

That wrap looks good. Get yourself a temperature controlled container and ship a few down here to NJ.

Also waiting for Breezy's diet e-book. Make sure you include few things under 700 calories for us metabolism challenged.

Full mountain dog back workout today. Can't wait !

Would definitely appreciate a Breezy food log/suggestion thread.

Just thought I'd say I popped my first Versa-1 today...it has begun. :)

Haha. I'll have it flown in this afternoon.

Will do...leftovers are always nice too.

Should be fun, good luck. I'm about to murder my legs.

At this point I'm just trying to remember to take pictures of my food. I'll post something up when I get a decent variety of food options to start with. I'm heading back to trader Joes today. I greatly underestimated what I thought would last a week...and apparently how long I was sick for. I feel better than I have all month.

Awesome man. I'm very interested in what you think.

Holy thermogenesis. It's 30 degrees out and I had to crack the window on the ride to the gym. I'm gonna need to carry a mop around during my workout.

Edit: No running water or bathroom use at the gym today. This is going to be rough. Luckily my shaker was half full and I had $1 to buy a small water ($10 minimum for credit purchases).

Day 28

I woke up feeling a lot better than I have in a while. My energy was up and I was just feeling great overall. Based on today, I think I might've been a little under the weather for the majority of the last month. Either way, it's good to be back.

I weighed 215.5lbs (+1.5lbs from day 1) this morning. I'll take it considering what I've been dealing with. I don't see any added fat compared to day 1 and I'm looking leaner if anything.

Supplementation

VERSA-1: 1 cap 45mins pre workout

Compound 20: 2 caps 1 hour pre workout, 2 caps 8 hours later

Forskolin-95: 1 cap morning, 1 cap pre workout, 1 cap afternoon, 1 cap pre bed (100mg total)

Pre workout mix: 2 scoops Craze/100mg caffeine/2 scoops Protocol V2

ALCAR-500: 2g 45mins pre workout

Modern BCAA: 2 scoops intra workout

Agmatine 500: 1 cap morning (before breakfast), 1 cap post workout (before shake)

Today's workout was awesome. The thermo effect and focus both hit strong on the way to the gym and I was ready to go. Strength was up quite a bit (last leg day was when my fever first hit) and on some exercises by a surprising amount. I was in a fantastic mood, which has only gotten better since my workout.

Seated Leg Curl
2 warm-up x20
120x14
140x12
150x10
90x35

-added 10lbs on 2 sets/hit all target reps

Leg Press (constant tension/no lockout)
2 warm-up x8-10
630x16
680x16
720x16 (2 reps hand assisted)

-This was a pleasant surprise. Last week I finished with 630x15 with 2 assisted reps...apparently I'm feeling better lol.

Hack Squat (pause in hole/no lockout)
1 warm-up x8
270x8
320x10
320x10

-last week all sets 270x8

Stretching
1min per quad

Smith Squat (sets 1+2: ATG/set 3+4: 1.5 technique)
200x8 (20lbs bar resistance+4 plates)
250x8
200x8
180x8

-I failed at 200x7 on the 1.5 set last week. This week I hit my target, waited a minute, dropped weight, and did it again. I only planned on 3 sets, but apparently didn't press record on my first 1.5 set...I was pissed, so I did it again lol. Video coming shortly.

Stretching
1min per quad

DB Stiff Deads
60x12
65x12
70x6

-I had to stop at 6 reps on the final set because I was literally going to throw up on the next rep.

Post workout meal

I added jasmine rice to the combo I had a couple days ago and it was a good move. I think I'll drop an egg on that b*tch next time:). I eat more than wraps too.

Tomorrow I'll be back in the gym for a shoulder workout and I can't wait

Hahaha.......yes, drop an egg in that b!tch.

Ridiculous leg work !

I could feel my legs fill up with lactic acid watching that! Nice work bro.

Haha I could feel it too. It was pretty ridiculous after doing them a minute before as well. I was bs after finding out I didn't record the first set lol.

All caught up breezy! I must say AWESOME thread buddy. I love/hate leg days even more now lol. I'm literally drenched after legs then doing prep mandatory cardio blows. IMO was literally laying on the stairmaster today. Very interested in breezys food thread btw. Keep crushing it bud.

Welcome bud! Thanks for stopping by. Lucky for me, I've always loved leg day and thoroughly enjoy the torture haha. I hear ya with sweating; this training brings it on like no other. I don't know how you pull cardio off because I literally struggle just to walk out of the gym. I'll be sure to let you know when I get a thread started.

Nice work getting below parallel as well; do you do any hip mobility exercises?

Yea it's not a very productive cardio lol just try and keep moving.

Breezy,

One thing about mountain dog back training...... Because I have been doing a lot of machine work, I don't have the grip strength to fully max out on my lifts. My grip started to give out during dead stop rows and heavy partial pulldowns. I know I could have lifted lot more weight than I ended up lifting. I was physically tired, but did not get that pump. My lats are a little sore this morning. I will know more tomorrow. DOMS usually hits me on the second day.

Do heavy BB wist curls and wrist db curls and reverse curls.. That will come, I had same issue for a good while

Thanks bud. I wish I'd went lower on a few reps. I'd never seen myself perform any squat variation on video before and it's nice to see what I can improve (even though it's just Smith squats). I don't normally do any hip mobility work.

Haha I bet. At least your burning a few calories.

To add to what cheda said; you might want to try towel pull ups and farmers walks. I believe bolt gave me this advice a while ago. However, you could always use straps. I keep them in my gym bag so I can bring them out for certain exercises.

Good suggestions. Thanks man.

As breezy said I am a big fan of farmers walks and towel pull ups. Or if you have some fat grips put those things on anything and it'll help. Idk what kind of gym you have but if you have Olympic lifting plates that are thick you can use those for farmers walks. The weight isn't heavy but even 35 or 45s demolish my grip and are my go to to add grip strength when I need to.

Day 29

I just had some micro (fruit punch), AP, and probiotics arrive and I'm pretty excited. These will all be a part of my supplementation going forward. I've only had the chance to sample micro a few times, but I loved it, and think it'll be a solid pre workout combo with Versa-1. Gut Health has been a staple of mine, but I finished my stash at the worst possible time. I decided to grab some probiotics for when I stopped the antibiotics, which I took for the last time this morning...time to replace some good bacteria:).

I've also got a tub of Test Powder that's begging me to be cracked open. I'm not quite sure what I'll do about that yet. Any thoughts?

I have heard TP causing some GI issues in some logs I've read.

I just started using micro the other day, phenomenal pre IMO. Great taste as well

http://anabolicminds.com/forum/supplement-reviews-logs/221228-beans-1st-contest.html

Thanks for the feedback bean. I've actually been through a few tubs of Test Powder (with no GI issues) and love the stuff. It's my favorite DAA based supp and one of my overall favorites as well...that's why I'm dying to start it lol.

I liked the samples I've had, but am really looking forward to getting a better feel for it. I was gonna take tomorrow off, but I don't want to wait to give micro a go.

Basically what I heard from bolt, cheda and breezy was.....stop being a p*ssy and work on your grip strength. Haha.

Actually, I am starting to feel a bit of DOMs right now so the workout yesterday was effective.

I will add on some grip work based on exercises you guys gave recommended and look to get some straps.

Thanks for the advice !
