Who's dealt with bad back acne and what have you done for it?

My doc just prescribed me 100mg/ day of dioxycycline. Anyone used this for bad acne?

haven't heard of it. I was prescribed a bottle of %10 benzoyl peroxide wash and that did the trick. I've been plagued by cycstic acne my whole life. Tetracycaline, Acutane, tretinoin gel, clindamycin gel have all been prescribed to me

Doxycycline is great I only used 50mg n it worked wonders

Used it 4 months and stopped and honestly even on cycle I get no acne on my face just a few on my shoulders it's wonderful

Its better than salycilic acid and the BP wash is a higher percentage than what you can get OTC. It's good to keep in the shower. Costs about $15 if your insurance won't cover it.

Can cause gastric distress, but taking it with food usually helps. Also can increase photo sensitivity so if you head outdoors in the sun all day wear some son block.

I've taken it many many times for deployments to malaria endemic regions.

Just when/if I have a flair up. The main thing is to keep your dosing of any hormones consistent. It's the inconsistencies that cause most flair ups, and hormonal fluctuations. The more steady your blood levels, the better off you'll be.
