Everything zombies.. plans, questions, possibilities, anything and everything zombies. Discuss


I'll start. So do you guys think with the technology we have today it would be possible to have a zombie apocalypse? We have space travel, internet, vaccinations, and numerous other technologies. I think it would be possible, especially with how blind society seems to be today.
 
Humans would survive but ultimately we are so reliant on technology 99% of humans would die for sure. The ability to travel across the world in hours would only quicken the spread AND even with the tech we have bugs are a huge problem. If a mosquito takes the blood of the infected and then bites you it's game over. Living in the most northern areas of the globe would be the only option.
Also the biggest thing people over look is food and water. With water coming from bays and streams for many all it takes is one infected to shut down a cities clean water supply so really even then well water and being in an area you can hunt and forage would be the only way to survive in the long run(which could be especially hard with a larger group of survivors)

This is too true, also with technology, these people have never been camping or have any sort of useable survivor skills. Not to mention mainstream society would probably freak out and panic hard making matters worse
 
For sure have you ever read world war z? Gives a hauntingly realistic tale of post, during, and Pre zombie out break in a crazy realistic way by the same dude who wrote the ultimate zombie survival guide.

One part the guy describes how people tried to flee cities in cars in mass numbers and the traffic was so bad people were stuck in cars and zombies slowly came by picking people off.

Basically survival would mean foresaking all family and friends (minus maybe a few) and hitting the oceab or heading north

Actually it's very possible.

It won't happen like anything from 28 days later but a 'zombie' under the definition is very possible.

Crack in Excess amounts can cause users brains to over heat and literally cook inside their head leading to violence and a slew of other incontrolable symptoms which can leave the user brain dead or simply dead after a while

Also there are zombie viruses that take hosts such as ants in order to spread to other organisms. With viruses becoming stronger and stronger with our medicines all it would take was a strong strand of a mutated version to hop species an create a zombie like human, which wouldn't really be violent but more likely a highly contagious brain dead walking vegtable

I'm not afraid.. between all the hunters and gun-owners I know, I'll be safe and able to adapt and survive in an apocalypse.. having a baby will be difficult though :\

In reality it is possible for us to have a "Zombie" outburst...I do wish for it to happen. My opinion is that the worst thing that has happened to this planet is the human race...In a way this would serve as a purge of a good percentage of us, and given the odds, most likely the well trained , weapon-accessed and strong individuals would survive. Talk about heaven after it is over, nice strong decided women...I would wanna be a dad then! And think of it...no more lazy unhealthy obese people that never train. (I have nothing against having high BF contents, I respect people that have 25%+ the most IF THEY TRAIN , OR WANNA DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT)

Please...if God cares to hear a plea...please let the zombie apocalypse come true :D!

Haha head north = they will freeze. But yeah being in az would be difficult. But I got a few hunting areas and plenty of guns for a outbreak. But as other said. Contamination would prob be the only way id get killed (insects and such) but hey id have the time of my life while it lasted. Permanent hunting season, sounds pretty good to me.

I wish everyone would understand it like that. I actually have an upcoming paper to be published by UT on the importance of legalizing drugs worldwide. See , we have no predators at all...so as Schopenhauer once said "Men are the origin of their own evils"...I believe that profoundly, and thus in legalizing the most addictive and lethal (in overdose and prolonged use cases) drugs can prove to be our cleansing indeed. We all pick our fates, and thus weak enough to not be able to resist a toxin that will undoubtedly be of more harm than good, will be cleansed from this world leaving us who respect out bodies (as temples) in charge of this society. Indeed if one cannot respect and nurture their bodies, how could they take care of this planet? Ah yes...that is the analogy...We need a cleanse in this planet.


Aside from that little insight of my dark views of the world (founded in negativism and pragmatism), I do believe it quite possible for the planet to be engineering our own demise already...all it takes is the fungi to evolve/mutate into something that can attach to our brain stem and voila , zombies! The fun thing about fungi is that they are good with humidity...and we rely on water, being more than 2/3 water ourselves...it would spread like wildfire. We just have to now survive and avoid the contagion...but for that, well The Walking Dead and many other TV/Movie series have taught us a lot haven't they? As well as some of us who have had fighting and gun-handling training :D!
 
I agree on the fat people but I honestly feel most muscular people would die out as well simply because of our high calorie needs. Our body would cannibalize itself much faster than a normal dudes. I feel like short, cardio bunnies would inherent the earth for their ability to travel long distances on much lower calories.

Look at the movie the road and Vigo motto son and his son. They are frail and small built which really would be the ultimate survival 'build'. Cause let's face it they aren't gonna be making protein powder once zombies attack haha.

Haha I never find a Powder a need IMO. But in that sense I do agree bodybuilders or size-nuts would DIE hahaha either of the stress of feeling they are loosing an inch of muscle...or due to hypocaloric circumstances (I doubt this one a bit though).

Meh I used to be a cardio bunny too haha, old habits die hard...I love running, sprinting, hiking, biking xD! And like I said, overweight people are of no bother to me at all, I just mean to say we would inherit a planet with muscular, cut throat beautiful women, and strong and reliable brothers to rebuild society with.
 
I understand about the drugs.. you just aren't thinking about the children who are affected.. pregnant women, parents.. I don't care if people want to kill themselves with drugs, but I can't stand seeing kids and babies suffer :[

so, it'd be good to invest in some good mosquito repellent? hahah. never thought of that.

I agree on the fact that there would be an infant population that would receive the biggest impact. What my colleagues research yielded was that the majority of Rehab-confined patients who had kids, had someone to look after their offspring and if not the government would take care of them. The angle I take on this is either relatives would take them under their roofs and they could end up retracing their parents footsteps (you know, feeling remorse, not belonging and all that fun psychological stuff)...or they go to a decent relative and are actually real thankful for the chance of a real nice life and they turn out amazing people since they know what these things can do (I know personally a case like this). This can also happen if the government relocates them...lets face it, even if it is the mother and the magical mother-offspring bond is broken...the child is much better set up with a more suitable and non-addicted parent figure; at least that's the angle I took on it.

As far as the mosquito repellent , 100% agreed!! Nothing worse than bzzzzzzzz....bite....oh hai! You are now a zombie!
 
I think the biggest fear is food. It's already been shown diseases like mad cow an simian immune deficiency disorder (now aids) can jump to humans. If such a virus happened say goodbye to most mammal food sources. Basically turning any landlocked humans into vegetarians.

The entire oceans Eco systems interacts with each other meaning schools of fish could easily feed on a dead whale carcass and become infected. Meat literally could become unable to be used unless you live near an enclosed farm with its own water and food supply.

No more hamburgers :'(
 
I agree.. druggies shouldn't have kids in the first place.. but who keeps track of infants and kids? nobody. unless somebody they know turns them into child services, who knows how long they'd suffer with drug-addicted caregivers? not to mention somebody meth'd out and driving hits me and my son at 60mph and we die, why should I pay for somebody's mistake? because they kill more people than themselves.

That is not the mechanism of SIV and HIV-1, HIV-2 my friend. Blood has to be in contact through the sanguine torrent...not through digestion, alas it is only a theory but I do not dare test it. What has been proven is that direct blood interaction is what gave birth to AIDS. HIV-1 and HIV-2 came from cross-species interactions between chimpanzees and mangabeys. In time, for them being hunted their blood came in contact with a hunter and boom...AIDS spread like wildfire, through blood, breast milk and sexual fluids.

Technically...if we cooked the meat thoroughly we would not get AIDS (given no sores, cuts or lacerations exist in the mouth or GI tract). However I would like a medical opinion of this, this is only a theory I know, and I do not know if it is 100% truth.

Now that is something I could not condone...I would scavenge the whole earth for more and more cans of chilli and beans! Or whatever meat is left...but I cannot live on plant protein! I say no to high estrogen and moobs!
 
I just ran in to this thread after seeing a zombie show claiming theirs a H1Z1 virus it's a mutation of the H1N1 virus to technical for me but check it out Invalid Link Removed

You should have seen the conspiracy theories that said the HIV virus had a cure through a mutation of it...which created the Vampire virus...
 
Yeah there's only talks about it but no verification it a hoax but possibility of it starting by a lab rat with rabies could be there one day
