Pregnenolone for those NOT on TRT?

I know a lot of men who are not on TRT or anything similar still take DHEA, but what about pregnenolone? I got some of the Life-Flo 15mg cream from the health food store, and tried it for a couple weeks. It seems to be very relaxing. Maybe a bit too much. Short term, no improvement in libido or anything else along those lines, just reduced pucker-factor. Of course this is all very short term.

I read here and there that the preg blood test is invalid. So how would you know if you should take it? My DHEA tested at 111, which is within range for old farts like me, but way below what LEF recommends. Does this mean my preg is also likely to be low?

And what would account for the anti-anxiety, relaxing effect of preg? Does that mean it's converting mostly to progesterone?

What would be the downside of taking preg?
