27 YR old - Free t levels - can I still build muscle?

Hi All,
I'm 27 year old, otherwise healthy. Had a blood test the other week and my free-t levels came back as 15.6 ( 8-29 ) I realise this is right in the middle, but I'd expect them to be better as I'm only 27, obviously the doctor said they was normal as they fall within range. Will I still be able to build muscle with these levels?

Free test is not an accurate reading. If this was the only testing he did then you better run the other way as fast as you can not looking back..You need a full panel to know the real story.

No he did a full blood work, I only managed to check the free T on his screen, I shall ask for a print out :)

I'm going for another test in 2 weeks, they will check my FSH levels, thyroid and full test.. any ideas how to boost my test for then? I will work out with very heavy weights, try to reduce my stress, get appropiate rest and eat healthy

on my most recent blood work i had free test done for the first time. the scale was 8.7-25.1 and i came in at 6.8, this followed up 4 prior labs showing total test of under 320 on a scale of 349-1197. I have built muscle over the years though it is slow going compared to others. I would also look at the rest of the blood panel like matrix suggested.

I am betting that unless you actually have symptoms of some sort you do not actually have anything to be concerned about.

and if i were you i would just do things like you normally do to see what your levels are so that information is accurate for you and your lifestyle.

my total test was low even with lifting heavy 3-5 days a week for years, sleeping well, and eating reasonably well.

So have you chosen to not pursue TRT? Why? I'm at basically this same point and I'm weighing the options.

Proper rest, nutrient absorption, and traning builds muscle along ---> increase hormones level

did you put on a lot of muscle? lot of fat too? I dont have any other symptoms really, just worried about busting my ass off and then gaining a ton of fat as I hear low T can contribute to that, although I don't know whether 15.5 (8.9-29) is that low

Look into other issues then hormones then may be you will find the answer. Hormones are just expressions of other enzymatic reactions

I put it off for over a year once i found out why i had no sex drive, why i was tired all the time and so on. i have had those problems for around 3 years. I was not going to just dive right into being on medication for the rest of my life. To me it is more scary how people just do it without thinking about it or learning about it. If i had more money i would be trying other things instead of just taking medicine.

id be more concerned about diet when it comes to gaining fat. If you do not have any symptoms you shouldn't be online, you should be in the gym or in the kitchen. You are worrying about a medical condition when you have no symptoms of having a medical condition. Get of the internet and start lifting heavy things and eat good food.

Excellent post right there. Have you experienced improvement in sex drive & energy?

3 weeks in and I feel more relaxed, had more sex in the past few weeks than I had in the past year, and seem to be sleeping better. I just wish I was in a financial situation to have pursued another path before TRT, I know I am doing better than most americans with diet and exercise and stress, but I know I can do better with gjuidance.

As I recommend to Dr. Give the patient the quality of life do not deprive them. In the mean time look for other issues which may further explain why levels are low. Make the proper correction and let the body rebalance cellularly over a 3-4 months peroid then try a restart ..
