I ended up at Wally World today and decided to look at the supplement section just to see what was there. I see something called HCG Solution. I looked at it and it was a dropper bottle...I look at the ingredients...mostly AMINO ACIDS. Seriously, someone is marketing amino acids as a "HCG precursor" in a small bottle for $40. The exact ingredients are L-Arginine, L-Glutamine, L-Cysteine, L-Methionine, L-Histidine, L-Alanine, L-Glutamic Acid, L-Lysine, L-Phenylalanine, L-Proline, L-Serine, D-Ribose, L-Glycine, Caffeine, L-Tyrosine, L-Threonine, L-Asparagine, L-Leucine, Green Tea (leaf) Extract, L-Isoleucine, L-Aspartic Acid, Cissus quadrangularis (aerial parts) Extract, L-Valine.
To top it off, I come home and look the stuff up and read some reviews:
Two, whatever weight is lost is probably more due to the enclosed diet then the product.
Crap like this is what makes the industry look bad. :zx11pissed:
edit: just found the diet online...ready for this?
Phase one: During the first 2 days of this type of diet plan you are allowed to eat as much of any food as you like. Fatty foods are allowed and encouraged. Bacon cheeseburgers, avocados, pastries, ice cream, cheesecake, fatty meats, fried foods, whatever you want. The theory is that you need to store the fat and energy for the VLCD portion in Phase 2.
Phase two: Days 3-44 (500 calories a day maximum)
BREAKFAST: Tea, yerba mate or coffee in any quantity, without sugar of any kind. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharine or Stevia may be used.
LUNCH: 100 grams of (ideally organic, grass-fed) beef, veal, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. 2 cups of one type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chicory, beet greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage. One breadstick (Italian grissino type, thin, crispy) or one Melba toast. An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries (6-9) or one-half grapefruit.
DINNER: The same four choices as lunch (above). It is generally recommended to avoid eating the same meat and vegetable for both lunch and dinner.
again...500 calories a day? More weight lost from that than the product.
Oh...and it is meant for men and women.
