Article: Beat Your Genetics

There is definitely a severe disadvantage when you're real tall. I could hardly bench my weight 2 yrs ago. Unless you are this tall most people will never understand. I can bench 260 now but if I were 5'10" and 210lbs I would guarantee 320lbs bench or more. I can't stand when people compare my strength to my weight in bench. Physics people....

... everyone should be able to bench their body weight. Genetics dont play a role with that, training does.
And having good form helps as well.

Lucky me and my long a## limbs (which don't stop me from benching 2+ times my body weight anyway..)But I agree with the article, pushups give a totally different and very beneficial stimulation on pecs as well a deep weighted dips

I am 6'4". When I first started after 8 months of training I went from body weight 210, benching well under my body weight, to benching 255.

I haven't done a 1 RM in a long time, but I'm sure I am well over that.

Your training must suck, cause I did that on Starting Strength and 5/3/1
