27 and new to TRT...looking for advice!

I am 27 years old and was referred to a urologist for my low T symptoms. I had bloods done and LH, FSH, and prolactin levels were all in range, but total test was at 192 l/dl. The doc prescribed test cyp injections at 200ml once every two weeks. I had my first shot on Monday.

He wants to see me again in early January after peak and trough blood work to decide if the 200 is where I need to be in terms of injections.

My questions are:

What can I expect to feel from this therapy and when can I expect to feel any different?

Based on anyone's experience, does this seem similar to what any of you have undergone in regards to treatment?

I asked for doc to check estrogen, but he said he was not concerned with that at this point. Should I be?

WHAT ABOUT FERTILlTY...he did not seem very knowledgeable in regards to this and did not answer many of the questions. I want to have another kiddo in the next couple years and wanted to know how I can do this on TRT.

Any/all insight and advice is appreciated.

I have asked my general practitioner to give me a referral to and endo...hopefully that will happen soon!

Before commencing on HRT find out why. This should be a damn sticky !! To many Dr's are sticking people on HRT permaturely when there is some simple underlying issues. I can not tell you how many cases with Dr's I have dealt with this has occured.

I've had my first shot--supposed to have next one in two weeks.
I currently see a urologist...should I instead see and endo?

Endos are diabetic drs not male hormone specialist. Rarely do you find a good one.
There are just too many unanswered questions here for you to be put on HRT right away with out further examing other imbalances which may be going on. OMG your in boston no wonder, We have many people from boston who have gone to boston medical and are literally in the appointment for 15 minutes and shipped right out the door. No wonder go out of state to get help. You were lucky to even get a prescriptions. There were no MRI's done, they did not look at primary vs secondary. This is typical of that area. Personal, I do not know any one in that area which is any good when it comes to hormones.

Starting TRT before doing more investigation is a bad idea. Most doctors really don't seem to know or care. Surely you need some more labs and after that there are probably better treatment options. You do need to find a better doctor.

We would get more insight if you shared more information about your clinical history. What are your symptoms specifically? When did they start? What is your lifestyle like? What is your height/weight? Are there any events that might have affected your health?

Fortunately for the greater Memphis area, we have a special company designed specifically for men with hormonal issues. It's called Ageless Men's Health. Too bad other cities aren't adopting copay-only steroid use, lol...

Not so true, I know Drs who take insurances and have people travel across the USA to see them.

5'7, 190lb...symptoms are consistently lethargic regardless of diet or amount of sleep, no/ low libido, mood swings, loss of focus/ motivation towards work or day to day tasks. I would say it has been a steady decline since early 20s.

Had liver cancer as a pediatric patient (gall bladder was removed to get to liver) received chemotherapy and have had two hernias as an infant/ toddler...no other health issues other than taking an SSRI for anxiety.

Lifestyle/ diet wise I watch what I eat, work out intensely 3-4 days a week, non-smoker, casual/ social drinker

I also forgot to mention that I was premature and at one point in early adolescence my oncologist (cancer doc) suggested my parents consider growth hormone injections...never did receive those, however.
 
Again one needs to look.to a pathology of the issue.other wise.you are.just drawing straws.

What are your suggestions in finding out the answers? How to find a good, thorough doc. Know of anyone in Louisville, KY?
