How did I know that matrix would come in and give the definitive answer?! If he is hypothyroid, should he go on meds right away? I know that adrenal fatigue will probably require meds if he has it, but Im wondering if tyrosine and other natural stuff has ever really helped a hypothyroid person.

Need to identify the pathology first before implementing any kind of drugs. Check the adrenals through saliva cortisol test which can be done through various labs. To many medical professionals are quick to shove a pill down your throat with out looking into other reasons.

Now, what do I have him say if they suggest an indocrinologist? I know those guys are considered bad news by you and fellow AMers.

Thanks man! Actually, I find a working link to any American doctors on that site, but youve sent me in the right direction anyway. Ill just tell my dad to ask for a thyroid specialist instead of an endo assuming that the phyical picks something up. Honestly, if I named a specific person and said "Go to this guy" hed probably be like "What are those chat rooms selling you?".
