man, I used to think this dude was so funny. Not only have his last few comedies been eh, but I cant even laugh at his old movies like I used to. Any onne else feel this way?

The newer ones have sucked, I'll agree. But nothing beats a good dose of dumb and dumber. Still funny to this day IMO, plus heard him and Jeff Daniels are rumored to do a sequel. You can bet I'd go watch it.

Happens to them all. sandler, murphy, ferrel, etc,etc every once in awhile they put out ba decent one, but for the most part i would say about 80-90% of them are crap.

Nope. Although I have not seen the latest couple, his comedies transcend time and stay with you(if you liked them in the first place) I will always laugh anytime I watch ace ventura 1&2, liarliar, cableguy, bruce almight, dick&jane, its his "serious" movies and "kids" movies I can do without.

Yeah, the penguin movie wasn't the greatest. But I will admit I liked "yes man".

I agree with the others... anytime the original Dumb and Dumber is on, I stop flipping through channels and watch it whatever part it's at. Hilarious.

Stand up comics/comedians are good at delivering punchlines, but not very proficient as it relates to improvisational acting. Guys like Jonah Hill, Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd, Tina Fey, Will Farrell and Steve Carel to name a few are all trained at improv (Second City Impov) and writing full fledged scripts and/or sketches, their movies tend to have more realism, as opposed to over the top physical gestures like Carrey is well known for. I rather watch a Judd Apatow movie over a Jim Carrey movie, at least that's more my taste.

Honestly though, the same can be said about Farrell, Hill, Rogan and Apatow's movies. It's all viewer dependent.
