A bit overwhelmed.

Hello all. I am new to anabolicminds.com and this is my first post. I have been reading a lot of posts and threads on here about the supplements and to be honest there are so many to choose from and ones that do differing things to the body that i am not sure what the best ones would be for me. I am asking for some help in possibly deciding which supplements would be best for to use. I would say lots of people that are on here know much more than i do about this subject and i am not too proud to ask for help. I am overweight atm and have not been able to really hit the gym like i normally did due to my son being born. i have been busy with him as of late lol. When i did work out normally the only thing i used was con-cret and protein. I am now looking to find something that will help me lose a lot of weight and help pack on muscle. I am now in a better position to devote more time to hitting the iron again and i am looking forward to it, just this time im looking for something extra. If any of you have any suggestions please help me out. It would be greatly appreciated.

Don't feel sorry for asking for help bro, everyone here has gotten some help to get where they're at.
So you want to lose weight while gaining some muscle? There are a few things I would recommend. First of all though is your diet on track? How is your exercise scheme going to look? And what are your short term goals? Drop 15 pounds in 2 months while gaining muscle? Recomp?
A natural testosterone product would be great for keeping strength levels up there while dropping some bodyfat. A product like DAA or Stinging Nettle would boost test levels, and something like Erase would do good at keeping estrogen levels low while doing this. AgeForce has a decent patch, the Testo/100 patch, with both DAA and Stinging Nettle. If you're interested PM me for a good discount.
Also Nutraplanet sells DAA bulk powder for pretty cheap. I think it tastes nasty and gives me stomach issues but it does work.
You could also look at some recomp agents like Ursobolic or Recompadrol. There are also some decent fat burners around like Shift by PES.
With some guidance in the right direction and a little research you should have no problem reaching your goals, whatever they may be.

The basics would be creatine, protein and a multi vitamin. Before you start searching the supplement section check out the diet/nutrition section first. Having a proper diet is the key to achieving your goals, no amount of supplements can be substituted for an improper diet. There is tons of useful information there that will help you get your diet on track to suit your personal goals. Once you nail your diet down and start seeing some results than you can focus on some supplements that can help you further your progress.

Feel free to ask any questions and I will help as best as i can.

nailed it

much thanks.

thanks a lot guys. i will make it a point to check out the diet section as you suggested. recently i changed up my diet on my own quite a bit. i was eating just 2 times a day, and those were sizeable meals, but now i eat around 5-6 times a day at much smaller portions, almost like snacking. i eat mostly chicken and salmon when i eat fish(which i love) and in between i usually have some raw veggies or an apple to snack on. as far as exercise goes i have been able to get back into the gym, which i do about 5 days a week now, and i have been getting in some cardio everyday, as well as chasing my baby boy around the house lol. if you guys have any feedback please let me know and thanks again to all who responded!

The 5-6 times a day meal plan is a very wise choice. Eating two meals a day slows down the metabolism IMO, if you're not following an intermittent fasting approach. Eating 5-6 clean meals a day is a sure way to speed it up.
How do you feel about bringing a notebook everywhere with you for the next couple days or so and writing down your meals, caloric intake in a day, as well as your workouts at the gym and how long you were there? This will give us a lot better idea of what you're currently doing in order to provide better feedback. The way I see it is it's like drawing out a map and then figuring out the best way to get from point A to point B.

Fasting

i have never really tried fasting before. i have thought about it, especially after reading some material on a diet called The Warrior Diet. basically what i understood from what i was able to read in the article is that you go up to 20 hours a day without eating a meal, and if you do eat you undereat, just taking a bite here and there of raw vegetables or something along those lines. Then, you feast. it gives you so many hours to get in all the protein and whatever else you need for your current body weight. this diet was designed around old school warriors with athletic builds im thinking. not so much huge tank lookin dudes, but shredded to no end lol. it actually intrigued me as i read the article and i have actually thought about trying it out. the purpose is to keep the body in "survival" or fight or flight" mode, which increases energy and other senses and burns fat faster. There is a book on this diet, and the authors name is Ori Hofmekler i believe, dont quote me on the spelling however lol. I am heading to the diet section here on this site now to see what good info i can find to help me out. let me know what you guys think of this. any feedback as always is greatly appreciated.

Do a quick search on here for "lean gains." There is a good thread going on it.

lg thread

hey, thanks a lot fl3x, i found the thread you were talking about and it had quite a bit of useful info on there. i actually found mention of the warrior diet in the lg faq link lol. im very seriously thinking of trying this, not sure about it though. im ready to try just about anything to get rid of this excess weight i have and start putting some muscle on. i want my son to see his dad as being strong and healthy and not just some slob ya know? but this is for me also. from what i read, it seems the warrior diet would actually suit me better due to my schedule and other things going on atm. im going to try to do some more research on this. thanks again!

That is understandable lol, that's important for a son to see his dad as a superhero ;)

Anxious to see what you decide to do, keep us updated.

sleep on it

i am going to sleep on it tonight and think about it tomorrow while at work and i will have a decision by tomorrow afternoon. been doing more research on the 2 diets, even though the 2 are very similar, and some supplements as well. ima grab a new notebook tomorrow as well so i will be able to keep logs of my diet and calorie intake and such. i want to do this right so i will post my measurements tomorrow as well for logging purposes. still have to decide on which supplements would be best for my goals. i want to get down to at least 215 lbs, as i am currently at 280. i want to lose weight rather quickly, but i have had trouble doing that before. i have never tried anything to aid that before though either lol, so i dont know how it will end up with supplements and such. thanks again for the help, it is greatly appreciated. i have never actually attempted anything like this before, logging things and such. will be a great experience i believe. hope to do well with this.
