Formation of the nWo | New World Order In WCW

nWo reveal 4th and 5th members

It had a good, but short, run that got redundant after awhile. Too bad it was an idea directly stolen from NJPW.

I never heard of NJPW, and they weren't on TV anyways so Im glad the idea was stolen. Very few can match what Hulk did for the NWO, perhaps rock, stone cold, etc...but then it still would be different. If they were some amateurs it probably wouldnt be as great.

The movie Rocky was an idea stolen from a true story, and that guy didnt get a penny for it, but Im still glad that happened too, lol.

NJPW=New Japan Pro Wrestling

Some of the wrestlers from this were actually brought to WCW via Bischoff (Ultimo Dragon being the most prominent). It was good for about 15 months and then the company as a whole just went to hell. Plus, the Attitude era was in full swing by then and was a much, much better in-ring product. The main stars were all in their 40's in WCW sans Goldberg and just couldn't hold their own anymore.

Oh, yes...Japan Wrestling is no joke, I thought your were talking about some amature wrestling league in New Jersey, lol...

Some of the Japanese wresting video games are the absolute best ever made too. To bad the real thing isnt played on TV here in america.

^^^same here, men's soap opera....got boring lately, until the rock showed up that first night....now it sucks again

like rodja said, cant beat the attitude era, and the ratings they pulled in during that run behind austin, highest ever

They've gotten really lazy with the character development aspect. None of the new crop really has any true magnetism to them. Sheamus and Orton are decent, but they've lost way too much talent in the past decade (Austin, Rock, Lesnar, Angle, Shawn, Edge, Batista).

A little bird told me that they are slowly trying to go back to the Attitude Era...you know...more beer, middle fingers, skin, foul language, and just basically less child friendly. I hope that it happens, but we'll see...RAW has been a crapshoot lately with whether or not it's actually going to be any good.

cm punk needs to be pushed hard, and let loose on the mike....hes a huge star in the making

agree with the developing of guys, they put the belt on sheamus or swagger, then squash them for whatever fkn **** they did backstage, morrison is getting squashed too

im a remote flicker, n landed on raw, n r truth was fkn smoking n blowing into morrison's face...wtf....your birdie may be right

i know it was cause of sponsors they toned it back, but the way reality tv is so vulgar, i dont see why they cant go back to it

Sheamus is tight with HHH, so he'll be fine. What I really, really hate is the lack on continuity. I remember it was an epic thing when Bret Hart won the championship for the 5th time, but, now, that's nothing. The belts change hands too damn much and so many people that hold them, don't deserve it.

yeah, how the hell did edge win 10 world titles??? when i was 6, hogan was only on tv once a month

we are getting old fast man, i saw sting is 52, wtf....iv seen his match with flair in 88 (1hr), n his first title with the us paint

bret was good, he made austin that night(wm13), the end was his idea also

thats another thing, match psychology, only a few guys can put on a classic nowadays

Very, very few can compare to that match at WM XIII. Savage v Steamboat is about it.

Maybe I'm not in the right generation but I don't find NWO being that big of a deal. I look back at DX and can see why they were big, but I watch videos of NWO and really can only say "meh" to them. Explain why I'm wrong.

You have to live through it. Its was a whole war between WWE and WCW....and WCW took the WWE guys, and when you grow up as a kid watching the Hulkster flip into a bad guy it just started a very dramatic story event.

Just keep in mind, watching some video's of it is totally mild compared to watching it during those days live.

True. I watch the crap on right now, with guys with so much potential and barely properly used or not used properly at all, and shake my head. If WWE was 1/2 of what it was back in the late 90's, I would be a happy camper. Now it wants to target to kids who will only grow up hearing such bads words like f**k and b**ch and instead they want to throw PeeWee Herman at us. No thanks!

The way they set it up was perfect. Hall and Nash were already well established and they promoted it as though the WWF was invading. When the PPV finally happened and Hogan emerged, absolutely no person in the building expected Hogan to go from the face of wrestling to the heel. There absolutely was not a hotter product ever than the nWo for about a year.

Was just watching TNA (I never really watch it),

Hogan came out with a pipe, and a new version of the NWO theme song...lol

TNA is quite low budget, but I have nothing to do tonight...Im actually glad there is something Im a little familiar with on TV right now.

Yeah I know, he is old and should leave wrestling, guess what, RVD just told him to leave wrestling right to his face tonight.

Remember the 4 Horsesmen attacking people in a gas station with baseball bats!!!
They really need to develop better feuds with long term storylines.

I can go all the way back to Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales holding the belts for years at a time and Ric Flair wrestling 60 minutes.

Sometimes I can't even watch Raw all the way through. They have great talent but the writers need to step it up.

"Stables" were always fun, e.g. nWo, The Four Horsemen, DX, Nation of Domination...and we can go on, but it's funny, because when done well it's really really fun to watch. When done poorly, it makes me want to dig out my knee caps with a spoon (e.g., Nexus, Ministry, CORPORATE MINISTRY)...

omg... the ppv for the TNA Lockdown event has a sick ass fight,

The Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett fight is amazing, I cant believe Kurt back flipped off the top of the steel cage and landed on JJ...sick!
