Join Michael Reagan and Mike Huckabee, demand Congress Repeal It Now! by signing the petition. I saw the commercial on Fox News, and as far as I can tell, it's the real deal. Will it help? Probably not! But if you're like me, at least you can feel like you're doing something! If you don't want the healthcare deal repealed, then don't sign the petition! I guess a debate on the topic in this thread is fine, but I don't see it ending well for anybody involved! Anywho, carry on!
--Brian
P.S.
If you sign the petition, please post saying so (to keep this thread bumped)! I'm just trying to get the word out. It'd be a shame if others that would've signed it, didn't, because they didn't know about it!

Nah, don't worry Southpaw! Debate is as American as Apple Pie (mmmmmm....Pie!) I have faith that this will stay "civil"! Either way, as previously stated, if you don't want it repealed, then don't sign. If you want to debate, state your arguments!

The last time any politician actually looked at a petition was when he ran out of toilet paper.

You want to make a difference with your congress rat on a particular issue, send a letter for or against. Keep it simple and brief as in "I do/do not favor INSERT LEGISLATION," and leave it at that. They'll tally them and weigh the likelihood of losing their office because of people like you voting them out against selling your ass to the highest bidding special interest, and if they choose you, you made a difference. But don't think for one second they actually give a deep fried ferret's **** about what you think or want or need. These people order vaseline in fifty gallon drums, they have no problem screwing you.

Ya, you're right. That's why I said, "at least I can FEEL like I'm doing something." Pretty unfortunate the way things have become over the last 50+ years.

Become? The American people have always been the pawns of the Big business interests, Govt, etc, Some people are just finding out how much of a pawn we've been.

Check out the attachment.
Dude, T-Bone, at this point we're only preaching to the choir. Liberals aren't going to change their minds, nor are conservatives. I've tried and tried til I was blue in the face, and no matter how good your arguments are, it just doesn't matter. The only explanation I've been able to come up with is liberals legislate based on emotion, while conservatives legislate based on logistics, and many times both ARE mutually exlusive. For example, I would love to end poverty, but to do so, you will end prosperity. It's a simple cause and effect relationship. Fairness vs. Freedom. And that seems to make up the vast majority of differences between conservatives and liberals. Either way, I have all but given up making my point, because it's just not possible. I've learned A LOT in the past month about how liberals operate, and to be honest, it scares the hell out of me.

Diablosho, I just got that in my email today after checking updates to this thread. So I figured, thats the perfect thing to post up in this thread. I'm not really into politics myself, but I really don't understand liberals way of thinking. They have the attitude of "let's all just get along". They seem to me to want the government to fix everything thats wrong with America. They also want everything to be PC. I'm so sick and tired of all the PC garbage out there. I understand where you are coming from though, the more you talk, the less the liberals listen. Either that or Heaven forbid, you "Offend" one of them!. Then its all over, your done for, you will be labeled as evil person and your words twisted into making you out to be some really bad person.

Oh T-Bone, I've been an evil bastard for a while now, simply for speaking out against the liberal machine. See, they don't really have the numbers they think they do, so the only way to keep that illusion going is to silence/intimidate/threaten their opposition to make their numbers look larger (like protesting on the lawn of that Wal-Mart executive's home, harassing his family). When people feel alone, they feel vulnerable, and thus, keep to themselves. I just try to speak out so that other conservatives don't feel alone, so that they will open up as well. It is the LEAST we can do. I live in Southern California, and if you ever want to know what it's like to experience leftist hatred, speak out against Obamacare at a coffee shop here (I have been known to do so, as well as make it known that I am a proud veteran; lefties seem to hate proud veterans). Very dangerous situation, but by the end, I usually have a pretty good number of people on my side that were previously biting their tongues. Once someone else takes the first step, they are more than willing to join in. Hopefully, they'll do the same.

The current healthcare system is unsustainable. Healthcare reform will be awarding this countries irresponsibility, which is unfortunately the only way to dampen the blow. Go to any one of your local emergency rooms, especially inner city, and look around. Look at the waiting room. Look at the beds lined up in the hallways. Look at ambulances coming through the door with an able bodied person, who called 911 for some minor ailment. People in this country, especially the poor and uneducated, abuse the healthcare system. These people are often under insured or not insured. Emergency room visits for minor problems cost triple what it would cost to see your primary care doctor. The ER is more convenient because they don't have to wait an extra day, and they can call thier cities handy dandy ambulance and get a free ride there, all courtesy of the working American's tax dollars. Healthare reform will undoubtedly place Primary Care Medicine out of business, thus forcing those MD's into the ER's. So eventually we will have gigantic 4 floor emergency departments and no more doctor offices. Then the poor and uneducated can feel free to go see a doctor in the emergency room any time they want. Federal Insurance programs reimburse at a pathetially low rate, much lower then your private health insurance company. The govt insurance also requires triple the paperwork, followed by harsh review after review, before you can be paid your pennies on the dollar. No private doctors office can survive if they are paid 40% less and need 50% additional staff to run their business. Then to top it off the govt insurances have this new ludicris reporting program where if you didn't like your hospital "service" or got an infection while you were there the govt refuses to pay.
