2010 College Football Season

Anyone else enjoy the new Cam Newton scoop... an unnamed source who supposedly "represented" the Cecil Newton "camp" sent a text message to Rogers discussing it. Seems to me like that is pretty WEAK for all the media attention this has gotten.

Looks like I'll be texting a booster at Michigan tommorow claiming I represent Mark Ingram and want money from the program for Ingram to transfer and that will be enough to ruin a guys career. Just doesn't seem too fair to me.

That is the BIGGEST crock of **** story I've ever seen written. His cell phone was damaged by water and he lost the texts...

BUCKS OUTSPEND EVERYONE - TIDE, IRISH CLOSE THE GAP
FOOTBALL ONLY

From FanHouse, November 18.....

Once again, Ohio State features the nation's biggest spending college football program, but Alabama and Notre Dame have closed the gap.

Last summer when FanHouse reported the amount of money schools spent on football programs, Ohio State easily had the deepest pockets of any school in the country for the 2008-09 school year.

Even though the Buckeyes spent about $500,000 less in the 2009-10 school year, the Buckeyes are still the nation's biggest spenders. Ohio State had expenses of $31.76 million last year, according to figures FanHouse obtained from the U.S. Department of Education's Equity in Athletics.

The 2009-10 school year is the most recent data that is available.

While Ohio State put the most money in its program for a second consecutive year, Alabama moved up to No. 2. The Crimson Tide spent nearly $5 million more than the 2008-09 school year, reporting expenses of $31.11 million.

However, the biggest increase was at Notre Dame. The Irish's 2009-10 expense of $29.49 million was a whopping $10 million more than the $18.74 million the school reported in 2008-09. The Fighting Irish, which ranked 20th nationally in 2008-09, zoomed all the way to third for the 2009-10 school year.

Like FanHouse's 2008-09 study, the SEC remained as the conference that literally puts its money where its mouth is. In 2008-09, the SEC had five of the nation's top 10 spending schools, but this year's study finds the SEC with six of the top 10: No. 2 Alabama ($31.11 million), No. 4 Auburn ($27.91 million), No. 6 Florida ($24.45 million), No. 7 South Carolina ($22.79 million), No. 8 LSU ($22.74 million) and No. 10 Arkansas ($22 million).

The Big Ten had two schools in the top 10 – Iowa was ninth ($18.46 million) – and the Big 12's top spender was No. 5 Texas ($25.11 million).

BTW Plenny, PSU spent just $19m compared to OSU's $31m.
Think that makes a difference in recruiting??
I'm not sure I'm shocked the Bucks spent so much, but that PSU spent so little in comparison.

I was also surprised that AUBURN outspent EVERYONE in the SEC except 'Bama. Apparently they have a large "micellaneous" expense category :squareeyed:

The FBI is involved because their investigation into Colonial Bank and Lowder led them there. The NCAA didn't ask for their assistance. The feds are the ones with actual information... and they don't share their info with anyone.

1. You're showing your desperation.
2. I don't care.

Finebaum is 100% on the Auburn train today. Miss. State is looking BAD right now consistently coming up with ZERO facts and a bunch of garbage from unnamed sources along with 3 washed up Ex. Miss. State college football players.

So when you post Cam Newton stories daily, it's fine. But when I post a story which was released yesterday about an ex player of yours which was covered up during your run, its desperation.:goodpost:

Let's see... the possible long-term corruption of the #2 ranked football team from a conference I care about... versus a personal lawsuit against a former player who is currently a millionaire in the NFL. Hmmm... you're right. They carry the same weight.

Btw, how'd that Coffee gun charge (the one you made a big deal about) work out for you?

Oh, I hear this website has been really popular lately. If you know anything, please complete the form: Invalid Link Removed

You're a whiney brat. You know that, right?

I do, thank you :You_Rock_Emoticon:

It's a big deal because he should not of been eligible and should of faced consequences for this but it was swept under the rug to preserve the National Championship. Just isn't right.

lol Kenny Rogers attourney just called him "stupid" in the statement he just released. Keep it classy Mississippi State.

I know you think I'm just waiting for AU to burn, but that's not the case. It would be disastrous for the SEC if anything in that TigerDroppings thread is true. Auburn being punished into irrelevancy doesn't help my team or the conference at all.

Either way, Cam will play on 11/26 and Auburn will be favored in their next three games, as they should be.

Do I like Newton's persona? No. I think, like many others, he's an egocentric, arrogant schmuck/thief/cheater/narcissist. But just like the scene in Forrest Gump... "But man, he sure can run!"

Hey Pot,

The link you posted didn't have any information about the charges being proven and/or retribution being paid. I believe the word is alleged. Pretty sure that's been your major complaint in the last week or so.

Love,

Kettle

What if I were to tell you I watched him run the guy over and then he went and got Dre Kirkpatrick and the Charger crew to come finish the job? :D

I don't think they'll be favored against Alabama.. they will be against USC obviously, then according to the "experts", they will be a 9 1/2 point dog against Oregon.

I'd be inclined to believe you, but I'd need to see video from your non-water-damaged cell phone.

I should rephrase that: They should be favored the rest of the way. I can't see Bama being the favorite (haven't really seen any early lines), but if Auburn beats UA soundly, then only a fool would pick Oregon against an undefeated SEC champion.

lalalala... hows that Milton McGregor argument going.. better find a new booster to blame it on rubber

I think Alabama gets favored because they have more fans and fans like betting on there own team which ends up skewing the line. I'll guess Alabma by 3 by game time.

Him denying it is as credible as the source who says he did it. The guy's already been indicted once this year, for Pete's sake. I don't pretend to know who paid Cecil... I'm just guessing AU will blame it on a rogue booster if they have to. Bobby's the key schmuck on the AU BoT.

And remember, Reggie Bush never really copped to anything, and USC was slammed on circumstantial evidence, rumor, and innuendo alone. Same with the Means ordeal, really. AU's best bet is that this goes the way of the Tee Martin scandal at UcheaT.

Boise St. Vs Oregon would be the biggest joke of a National Championship game of all time. The only thing you'd prove is who the better team between those schools are, and whos making the most out of terrible recruits.

Serious question/comment -- I have a feeling that if Auburn loses to Bama then wins SEC C/G and if Oregon/Boise/TCU all win out that they will make it Auburn vs Oregon just because they will be unable to pick between Boise/TCU. They will be nearly identical in BCS ranking and also nearly identically NOT tested by ANYONE. These voters who all KNOW that Boise/oregon/TCU would all have 3 losses in the SEC will end up picking Auburn in the end.

It is a joke not to let Boise go. They absolutely demolished TCU in the BCS last year and TCU returned almost all of their starters. In fact Boise State tried to actually get a tougher schedule and teams were turning them down, because honestly they don't want any part of that.

They are a solid group, with good discipline, and they have a chip on their shoulder. As for Oregon you can't put down a team that puts up over 50 lbs a game practically. Auburn is a joke in my opinion, they have one guy who throws for 100 and runs for 250 yards/game. Stop the run and you stop auburn.

You need to try watching Auburn again then. Cameron Newton is the 2nd rated passer in the country.

QB at Auburn = 6'6 250
QB at Boise = 6' 165
Linebacker at Auburn = 6'3 245
Linebacker at Boise = 6' 210 pounds
OL at Boise = 6' 260
OL at Auburn = 6'6 320

Auburn plays with 4&5 star recruits -- Boise plays with 1&2 star recruits. If Boise REALLY deserves to play in the NC game based on talent then Scout/Rivals needs to be complete ignored. I refuse to take a team seriously who plays verse Idaho on a wednesday night in a barn and has a home field with blue turf. Boise would be the Kentucky of the SEC. You can NOT turn away a team with 1 loss who comes from the conference who has won the last 4 national championships to make room for a team who plays Idaho/NW Canada Community College and the other weak sauce schools that Boise plays.

You are really referring to Rivals rankings? Go 4 years back on the 5 star rivals players and see which ones went to the NFL. That ranking is such a joke it is ridiculous and if it had everything to do with pure talent then the recruiting rankings would = national ranking.

And who cares about the size of the QB's, Newton couldn't pass to save his life, yes he can run with his size but his arm is a joke.

Ok this is a joke, phew, you worried me.

Go Boise State vs. Oregon ;)

Do you honestly think boise deserves a NC shot over an undefeated auburn? You're obviously from idaho because nobody in their right mind actually thinks they're better than an undefeated SEC champ. The SEC is called the minor league of the NFL for a reason...no other conference has more players in the NFL. And no, teams arent ducking boise. Check a few pages back and you'll see where rubberring posted several schools that offered to play boise. And as far as the teams that dont want to play them, they have nothing to gain from beating boise and everything to lose if they did happen to lose to them. And dont go calling me an Auburn homer, i hate them like i hate the taliban. Go back to your potato farm, i'm runnin short on fries.

do you have the size of their penis too......???? Its all about player development not 5 star recruits. Look at Iowa. terrible recruits but they develop well and fit the system.:gives:

I do.. Auburn is consistently a few inches bigger in both length and girth.

But anyway -- Look at Iowa? How inconsistent they are? Okay, I'll look at that. Actually that helps to prove my point. With less talented players you might be able to pull a rabbit out of a hat every once in a while. But in the long run if you play a tough schedule you WILL LOSE games. Aka. Northwestern and Arizona losses. Just because they beat your terrible Penn St. team doesnt mean they are a powerhouse.

So how are these developed players looking in the NFL from Boise? Ian Johnson who was Boises all EVERYTHING is working at a grocery store now. All of Boises QB's who put up great stats against the garbage competition they play are nowhere to be found on a NFL roster and the same will go to Kellen Moore and his girly arm. Boise has ZERO (0) players in the NFL who mean anything to their team.

So you're telling me that if Boise played Alabama(Who hasn't even been more than an above average SEC team this year, but has solid recruits and NFL talent) on a neutral field in a pick-em game you'd put your life savings on Boise? I GUARANTEE you that you wouldn't. None of these people who are backing Boise to play in the NC game would either.

Man, I hope we don't cop a Michigan against App State today, although it would be this season's icing on a particularly rotten cake.
