2010 College Football Season

How does Auburn have the 9th hardest schedule and Alabama have the 74th based on computers? It doesn't seem like they've been THAT much different.

How does Auburn have the 9th hardest schedule and Alabama have the 74th based on computers? It doesn't seem like they've been THAT much different.

It's all rubbish. The BCS itself doesn't even have a SOS component, but the six different computers used in the BCS system all utilize a different way of determining it. With a few of them, it's purely opponent W-L records, and it's recalculated weekly. In other words, an AU win over a 5-3 Chattanooga will count just as much as a Bama win over 5-3 Florida.

Here are the six computers used. Sagarin's is retarded, hands down. You have to investigate the methodology of all six to figure out how they assess SOS.

Im a LSU fan so these last few seasons havent been as much fun for me. I cant wait till Miles is out of here. LSU has too much talent to play like we do. Id love to beat that scum bag, with zero integrity Saban this weekend. I dont see it happening though. With each team having a full week to prepare, coaching will be a huge part of the game. We all know Saban is a hell of a coach and Miles, well, nothing needs to be said.

Its been a great season. I think Bama has the best shot at Oregon out of the SEC. First I cheer for LSU, after that I back the SEC. Id love to see the SEC take its 5th straight title.

Although Id love to see Boise get a shot at the big game.

Id love to beat that scum bag, with zero integrity Saban this weekend.

I've never heard a valid explanation for the Saban hate in Baton Rouge. All the guy did was take LSU football out of the Dark Ages, give them their first national title in 45 years, and turn the program into a winner.

Did he leave you for a rival team? No... he wanted to coach in the NFL. It didn't work out, so he took a fat contract to return to college ball... and its premiere conference. It's not like he could've gone back to LSU. You guys were happier than pigs in shit to have Les Miles back then.

Did he leave the cupboard empty? Hell no. Miles won the only title he'll ever see in his lifetime... with Saban's recruits.

So, please... enlighten me. Because Florida fans are thankful for Spurrier's contributions to Gator football, and they don't spend their time crying about him coaching at another SEC school after returning from his stint in the pros.

Oh, and welcome.

They're just bitter they lost the best coach in college football and got stuck with les. Coaches move on all the time, for some reason coach saban is the second coming of hitler for doing what's been done a million times over. Pete Carroll left his school on probation and doesn't get bashed like saint nick does.

I don't think that's gonna happen. Do you remember a few years back when Ohio State ranked #1 met Michigan ranked #2 and Ohio State won a very close game? The legitimate argument from Michigan was - we have 1 loss, a close loss to the #1 team in the country we should be playing them again for the National Championship since Florida's one loss was to a lesser ranked Auburn team.

And the fact that the "almost left out" Gators cruised 41-14 is another reason that I would agree with BuckNuts - these back-to-back rematch games will never be considered seriously.

Also the only way an Iron Bowl "rematch" makes any sense is if Auburn loses and both teams have 1 loss (obviously if Auburn wins and has no losses it gets in anyway and a 2 loss 'Bama is out). The way the stars are aligning this year I think we will be lucky if just one 1-loss team gets in. There are few times I disagree with our SEC beat writer Travis, but he is dead wrong on this one. As much as I hate Boise, if they are undefeated and two 1-loss teams beat them to the NCG, they have reason to riot and I for one don't want to hear Boise drumbeat for another 12 months. I want them to get in so all this whining and neverending BS will finally stop. My hope is that an undefeated Oregon or one-loss Alabama shuts them down and shuts them up for good!! Has to be an ass-kicking though, a close game would do more harm than good.

Pete Carroll left his school on probation and doesn't get bashed like saint nick does.

Speaking of "I didn't notice Reggie's house or car"" Pete, weren't his Seahawks just 1 for 16 on 3rd down conversions Sunday?
He didn't see the writing on the wall at USC did he??

Arky State laying the wood to Mid Tenn... I really wish I would of bet on this game. Arky State looked impressive in person.

Honeslty, I totally understood him wanting to challenge himself with the NFL. I dont at all like how he handled the situation though. Saying he was staying, then up and leaving. So be it, I understood the allure of the NFL. He won it all in college, now the NFL is the next step up. He goes to the NFL and sucks, so he quickly high tails it like a quitter when he was in over his head without the total control he had in college. He did the same thing, showed no class in leaving the Dolphins either. Yes it does suck that he came to a rival and is a far better coach than we have at LSU. LSU has equal talent to Bama but lacks leadership. Even if he were to go to another conference Id still have no respect for him because of how he handled the two situations.

I am very appreciative of what he brought to LSU. DiNardo started the comeback for LSU and Saban finished it. The biggest thing he did was fence in the majority of instate talent.

That's a pretty shallow analysis. Would you have rather him destroyed LSU's recruiting potential by saying, "Yeah... you know, I'm really considering bailing out of here and goin' to the NFL. Hope everyone understands and all. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks."

If he does that... say goodbye to your 2007 title.

DiNardo started the comeback for LSU and Saban finished it.

DiNardo lost 13 of his last 17 games and recruiting was in the sh!tter. Saban did a little more than just "finish it."

Don't go thinking for yourself or anything. You might wanna lay off the ESPN pipe. The guy's a lot of things... but a quitter isn't one of them. I don't know about you, but if I were miserable in my job, and someone offered me $4M a year to do something I enjoy better... I'm out. He did wait until the end of the Dolphins' season, and he did meet with the owner... unlike some other SEC coaches I know of. I'm lookin' at you, Petrino.

But, hey man... hate away.

Btw, since you seem to be a tad confused, here's what quit looks like... or was that a lack of leadership that layed their asses out?

Whatever. Typical pompous Bama fan. If the shoe was on the other foot youd guys would be feeling the same disdain.

He had nothing to do with the '07 title. As much as I dislike Miles a large majority of the players were from Miles, NOT the Snake. Again, typical pompous Bama fan thinking they know it all. I wont deny his success helped paved the way. Another thing DiNardo brought in a ton of talent that helped turned things around. Sure his final few years were horrific but he brought in guys like James, Faulk, Davis, Toefield, etc that helped bring LSU back into better days.

Say what you want but Saban is a QUITTER. He bit off more than he could handle, put his little tail between his legs and high tailed it like a kid. No, he wasnt nearly as bad as Petrino but he quit. He left after saying he would stay, just like he did to LSU. Id love to see him do that to you pompous fans and see how much Bama fans love him then.

I dont deny is one hell of a coach, I just dont like the man. I can see why you like him, he brought Bama back from the crapper back to the elite. Where Bama should be with its tradition.

....and who gives a **** if you like him? He wins. That is what he is paid to do.

Same with Petrino. I dont give a damn if anyone hates him. He is building a winner.

WTF dont you guys get here? If or when Petrino or Saban screws you guys over yall outlook on them will be very different than how you feel right now. Thats all Im saying. I like Miles as a man, I cant stand him as a coach though. Id rather have someone I dont like but they win.

That is true Primetime. When Saban leaves Alabama in the next 2 years for the Texas job he will then be on the Bammers most hated list. The thing is, he wont care. He has shown publically his dismay for the Alabama fans before. He's only at Alabama for the money and the ability to get recruits/win. He can't stand how redneck/trashy the MAJORITY of the fan base is. (NOT talking about you rub) Thats the difference between a head coach who is in the business of coaching(Saban) and one who actually enjoys coaching at a paticular program due to strong ties to that program (Peterson).

Nice to see the ex QB from Georgia who was DISMISSED from Georgia for pleading GUILTY for Sexual Battery charges has now received a scholarship offer from the University of Alabama. Any other Bammer fans want to try to give Auburn any hell for Newton?

USC Player Jurrell Casey thinks the Ducks are overrated
Oregon’s offense might lead the nation in all sorts of categories, but not everybody on USC is impressed. According to Trojans defensive tackle Jurrell Casey, the Ducks aren’t all that talented.

“They have a good running back and a good quarterback. Other than that, they’re really not that good,” Casey said.

Asked if he was tired of hearing about Oregon, which leads the NCAA in total offense and scoring offense, he told ESPNLosAngeles.com, “It gets kind of annoying to keep hearing about it, but let them do the talking and we’ll just go out there and show that we can stop them.”

In a way, Casey is only echoing what Oregon coach Chip Kelly said himself the day before. Speaking to Oregon reporters, Kelly said the Trojans’ talent level -- at least according to recruiting analysts -- is greater than that of Oregon’s. Oregon is rated the No. 2 team in the nation by the BCS but ranked first by the Associated Press. USC is No. 24 in the AP rankings.

The teams meet Saturday at the Coliseum in a game that is being televised by ABC.

“In their two-deep, out of their 44 players they have 12 five-star recruits and 26 four-star recruits," Kelly said. “I don't know if there is anybody in the country who has that. I keep hearing USC is down in talent. We have zero five-star recruits in our top 44 and 11 four-star recruits.”

USC coach Lane Kiffin poked fun at Kelly after Wednesday's practice for taking the time to tally up all those stars.

“I really wish that I had good enough players and we were good enough coaches that we could spend enough time counting how many four- and five-star players we have on each others’ rosters,” Kiffin said. “I don’t have time for that, unfortunately.”

Really? Because nothing in that article says he was offered a sholarahip or even mentioned Alabama. And lets put into perspective what he did, he grabbed a girls ass when he was wasted. Who's never done something like that at that age? I've had girls do worse than that to me, but because a guy did it its "sexual battery"

Where in that article did it mention Alabama giving him a scholarship? I read he plans to visit Cincinnati.

Last article was just to show what he did. Since you guys somehow think I made this all up. Here you go :

Yet Texas has a "COACH IN WAITING" because Mack Brown will NEVER retire. They have a coach in waiting so that in 30 years when Mack is 100 they will have a coach? Are you not all there upstairs bro?
Common sense tells you he's taking Mack brown's job? The man has more job security than damn near any college coach out there. But then again, nobody's ever linked you with common sense.

Much better but I'll believe it when Alabama says they offered it. But in big business college football it wouldn't really surprise me

Thank you for proving my point. COACH IN WAITING tells you saban isn't goin there. Are you really this retarded?

Guarantee you if Texas thinks/knows they can get Saban then Muschamp will be in the toilet. Words and promises dont mean much in the buisness of football. Just ask Saban, pretty sure he's said he wasn't leaving every team he's been to and ends up gone within a week.

And I guarantee you its in muschamps contract which would mean a huge payout for him if that happened. I'd bet you a months pay saban doesn't go to Texas in 2 years. Mack isn't quitting, they're not gonna fire him, and saban is treated like a God at Alabama, more so than he would be at any other school.

He's treated like a god as long as they win EVERY game. Alabamas version of treating its coach like a god is getting to sign toothless females boobs before the game and having trailer parks named after you. Saban will NOT be at Alabama in 2 years, guarantee it. Just look as his track record, he does not stay places for more than a few years.

Are you fcukin serious? Remember I grew up 30 min from auburn and their student body/fan base is as redneck as it comes. Auburn's a damn farming school for christ sake! Why must every auburn fans world revolve around what Alabama is doing? Oh yeah, their only national championship came as Alabama Polytechnic! You people have the biggest inferiority complex I've ever seen!

Was just typing that out of ACTUAL pictures I've seen of it happening. Auburn has no inferiority complex because Auburn is happy with Auburn. But when Alabama news comes out and I want to speak on it, I have that right. I live in this state which is heavily dominated by Alabama media and thats the news I hear the most of. I am a COLLEGE FOOTBALL fan, not just an Auburn fan.

We're all college football fans in here but when one team is doing well they enjoy it. When auburn does well their fans have to bring up Alabama as an example that they're doing better at that time. My town is probably 80% auburn fans and every other word referring to college football is something derogatory about bama/saban. They prove my point everyday!

Yet Alabama fans talk so positive about Auburn? It goes both ways and thats what causes the cycle to occur and also what makes the rivalry so great. How exciting would it be if there was no arguing back and forth about this stuff? Not much.

Its not about argruing back and forth,I love that part. Last year we won it all and we savored it. If y'all win it this year its just gonna be a bunch of bama this and bama that. I understand y'all have never been there before so you're not really sure how to act. Auburn fans are like someone whose on the brink of losing their virginity and has to run and tell all their friends.

Honestly, not really. I've heard A TON of Alabama fans already claiming this years NC and haven't heard ANY auburn fans say anything about it. You don't live in Alabama so I guess you wouldn't know though. Still feel bad for you that you are so misled though. Wait til after this weekend when LSU takes care of business in Baton Rouge to all but secure our SEC championship birth, then get back to me.

Well ya see there's this thing called the internet where there's this websites called Facebook. On this facebook I talk to people from all over the world, crazy I know. And not a single one of my bama friends is claiming a NC birth. In fact most, going into this season, admitted bama was a 2 loss team. On the other hand every auburn fan can't stop posting nonsense about NC this, cam is Jesus that, omg Oregon jumped us but we're the greatest team every so I don't understand. Is almost like they don't realize if they win out that they'll play for the NC and if they win they'll be #1. Oh yeah, I forgot, y'all don't know that because like I've stated you've never been there before.

Quit acting like you personally won national championships or something. I really dont care what your supposed "Auburn facebook friends" statuses look like either. I didn't realize that Auburn needed to talk classes on how to handle being undefeated this late in the season.. oh wait, we were 6 years ago. You're ridiculous dude.

Supposed friends? Remember I'm from one county away from auburn and my town is 80% auburn fans? And we all say "we" "us" "them" when referring to our teams so don't get all high and mighty when it comes to vocabulary. Only 6 years ago? Wow impressive! But seriously, was that the undefeated team that got screwed outta the NC? If so, even I was pissed about that. Not sure how an undefeated team from the best conference gets jumped by a one loss team from a weak conference.

Don't care about 2004.. Auburn fans do something that Alabama fans have trouble doing.. they pay attention to the season at hand and don't rely on the past. We have a huge final (hopefully) 4 games left before we goto our bowl game. We control our own destiny and thats all we can ask for right now.

As do we control our own destiny. You refer to paying attention to the season at hand right after you brought up 2004? Makes total sense.

You braught it up. You said we hadn't been in this situation before. btw -- How did that NC help you when South Carolina spanked you? Did it help the way you felt about it? Didn't think so. Same way that I didn't think one second about last years season when Auburn was beating down Arky and LSU. Thats why it's best to pay attention to the season at hand and not worry about the past, it has no effect on the future.

Yet Texas has a "COACH IN WAITING" because Mack Brown will NEVER retire.

Said "Coach in Waiting" may be head coach of Georgia in 3 months.

I grew up 30 min from auburn and their student body/fan base is as redneck as it comes. Auburn's a damn farming school for christ sake!

Didn't know that. I thought Auburn was the more metro of the 2. Guess I was way off base (though I admit I never stepped foot in Alabama)..

Yeah I don't believe Muschamp will ever live to be head coach at Texas. He really screwed himself by waiting so long. Coaching is all about the "hot name" at that given time. Muschamp has kind of outstayed his time as a hot commodity and if he waits much longer and adds some more losses to his DC resume it'll hurt it even further. Muschamp is best to get out in a hurry and get into a HC job.

Am I really that unrealistic to say that Saban would jump ship for the most elite coaching job in college football at Texas?
