Gonna attempt to COMPLETELTY kick caffeine.

good luck bro Im pullin for you. I gotta agree with anton when after I quit caffeine I actually sleep less and feel more energetic. As for the mdrol cycle cheers to that. I am kinda addicted to that feeling now I cant wait to start another one, even tho it was hell on my body. Maybe that was the caffeine withdrawal and I just wrote it off as the SD sides.

ughhh ive been wanting them for awhile. they ran out when i was trying to buy them so i just got a pair of chucks, now vibrams are available again and i dont have $80 to drop on them.. :(

I bought them on my lunch break yesterday and wore them for the rest of the day, and walked home (1.3mi) with them. My forefeet (is that a word? lol) definitely hurt. There is obviously much truth to the adjustment period. I haven't tried running in them yet, but that'll be interesting for sure. Gonna use a baby step (no pun) implementation for sure.

Been a couch potato today, literally. Blew off a social event that I was on the fence about anyway. Had planned on hitting the gym, but another day off can't hurt. Will make tomorrow a productive day for sure. Got a bit of a headache and not really a whole lot of motivation. Only took 1/2 of a 250mg nuvigil tab today and no clenbuterol.

I've been wearing my VFF Sprints for a couple weeks now. I had been running on my toes, in regular trainers, for a bit, and had actually poached a number of barefoot runs on the treadmill at work. So the transition wasn't too bad, but I'm only running 2-2.5 miles, and increasing my times to pre-vff times. They feel great! My calves are growing, my feet, hips, and back feel way less pounding, and it just feels RAWR! Primal! :D

Dude I'm actually just starting to get into running at all. I haven't ran in years. :ntome: On a side note wearing these VFF's right now makes me realize I gotta cut my toenails with the quickness. lol

On to the no caffeine thing... this sucks. The first couple days were easier than the last few. I got laundry done today and cleaned a bit, but I wanted to go to the gym and do a few other things, which as of now I'm skipping. I'm having a real hard time with being motivated at all.

Pep talk anyone?

Good job, then. Just be sure to start slow, regardless of how far or hard you ran. VFF's can cause stress fractures in the metetarsals (or whatever those little bones on the top of your feet are called) if you ramp up too quick. Do not run through pain in that area. When you start, you'll probably be really on your toes, but as distances increase, you'll switch to a midfoot strike, with you heel touching, but not at all impacting. Also, run on a treadmill to start, as it has give, and start with 1/4 mile in the vff's, then stop, throw your regular trainers on, and run a bit more. No need to be totally hampered by the conditioning of your feet and calves.

As for the caffeine...don't miss the workout. Go for an easy run, do not push it. The exercise increases blood flow and will normalize the vaso-constriction/dialation in the head. I'm sure you know this, but the headaches are caused by chronic use of caffeine, which is a vaso-constrictor. Your body wants to achieve homeostasis, so it eventually counters the constant, daily vasoconstriction with extra NO to vasodialate to normal levels. So when you stop the caffeine cold turkey, the body needs a while to taper that extra NO production off, and essentially that extra NO, without the caffeine to counter it, causes a pressure headache. In my experience, a nice easy run and a workout helps get the blood flowing, and reduce that effect. It's not harmful, just uncomfortable (or downright painful for a very few people). The lethargy just takes some time to normalize, as well. But again, getting the blood flowing makes things a whole lot better.

Go workout, bro!

Keep pushing bro! Return your body to its original state and it will thank you!

I wanna get vibrams but I cant wear them at work (office job) its either dress shoes here or sneaks sometimes during dress down periods. i would have to just wear them when working out.. i wanna get my feet back to primal but this job isnt helping

Anton, do it, just wear them for workouts, and lounge time. You don't need to wear them a whole lot to completely change your feet and calves. A couple workouts/runs a week is plenty.

Update:

I failed at kicking the caffeine habit, but succeeded (so far) as to living a healthier life. Details...

Shortly after my last post in this thread I went to 2 DMB concerts. They were on Weds and Thurs nights and I did not have off from work the following days. On the day of the first one I had a decent amount of caffeine because I was dragging ass and didn't want to not enjoy the show. And as always when I go to concerts, I got pretty $hitfaced. So I had 2 nights of drinking, followed by 2 nights of little to no sleep and 2 incredibly rough days at work, while using large amounts of caffeine/nuvigil just to make it through. I've used caffeine at least in the morning ever since (including now). The following Friday I got a room and played poker in AC till about 6AM, all the while drinking alcohol and sugar free red bulls and taking Nuvigil as well. A buddy of mine went with me and did pretty much the same thing. We had Phillies tickets for the following day that I'd gotten for free, and great seats too (the game where Halladay threw 9 scoreless and the pitcher for the Reds took a perfect game into the 9th and Chooch busted it up with double with one out, and the Phillies won 1-0 in the 11th when Rollins hit a walkoff single to score Chooch, AMAZING game). Anyway my buddy felt so sick at 6:30 PM that he couldn't get out of bed, and I ended up going by myself and wasted his ticket. I had 3 beers at the game, basically to "cure" my hangover and feel somewhat decent...

I haven't drank since. That game was July 10th, so over 1 month no alcohol for me! I feel a HELL of a lot better in my day to day life. I completely stopped taking Nuvigil, because after trial and error with it I've come to terms that it causes more of an unpleasant than a pleasant feeling (for me anyway). I now take a little bit of my caffeine/yohimbine hcl powder in the morning, and that's it for the day. Sometimes I'll drink a small (<8oz) cup of coffee before the gym.

To sum up: I quit drinking completely. I take much less caffeine than before and no nuvigil, and drink a lot more water and religiously take multis and fish oil. And I do more cardio. And I feel a lot better. :deal:
