Liver Tabs

Gironda. We could still learn tons from his approach today.

It was that article and one from Dave Drapper that led me to look for desiccated liver tablets a few years ago, I tried a few bottles of over priced nutrition store brand liver tablets before I finally found Uni-Liver tabs.

Uni-Liver looks like such a valuable product, it almost looks too good to be true. But we all know about those things that look too good to be true- they usually have a catch. I'm thinking the catch is worse bioavailability with caps than powder aminos (i.e. Xtend, RecoverPRO).

However, I haven't had the time to read all 16 pages of this article and it's likely already been discussed. I could be very wrong about this availability estimate. If so, don't be afraid to bitchslap me textually.

got a Q
last night i took 2 yohimbe tablets then an hour later i took 4 liver tabs and aginine caps and i had this freaky trip out while driving, all lights went halo, vision was screwed i thought i was loosing my vision now ive been trying to work out what happened then i read this article

Because yohimbe blocks the enzyme monoamine oxidase, people taking yohimbe must avoid all tyramine-containing foods (e.g., liver, cheeses, red wine)

is this a problem should i avoid taking the 2 together???

I would definitely discontinue using them together based on what you've experienced alone but also on that read. You should check with your doctor to be 100% sure but I'm going to bet it is safe to say that it isn't a good idea.

Fantastic thread!
I just placed an order..
One quick question!!
Is there an upper limit to these bad boys? I know Iron has one (don't know it offhand) but would taking 20 a day be bad? I have iron free multi's but do eat red meat fairly often.. Just curious if I should go lower?

If you're new to Uni-Liver, def start on the low side. How many meals you take? Start with just a few to begin with...

no catch just pure results

On a somewhat related note, I finally switched to Animal Pak. Now I get 1 more liver tab per day!

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't mind taking 11 pills instead of 1 for my "vitamin". I know a lot of people bitch about that. I think it's helped taking handfuls of liver tabs. It's hard for me to choke on a handful of pills now.

Me too bro. I throw my Pak, Liver Tabs and anything else I may be taking at the time all in my mouth at the same time, take a huge gulp of water and down they all go in one big swallow. No issue...

70?!? Damn brother! I think I hit 30. 70 sounds like you'd have some full-time toxic ass syndrome :moon:

3 or 4 with each solid food meal is plenty fellas. No need to heavy dose a supplement. If you want more nutrition, eat more food!

I agree, even though its hard to overdose on hemi iron, 70 a day sounds nothing but toxic to me. I take 10-16 a day spread at least two doses, most of the time 3.

Well, you have to do something with all those beef livers since argentinian beef is in such high demand (and so delicious)!

The single most useful property the liver tabs have for me (I take 6-8 a day divided) that I discovered after my last cycle ended (and the 4K+ calorie diet and puking in my mouth from bloating, etc) is that they are fantastic appetite stimulants. If you are a hard gainer like me, then that is one of the greatest obstables to using anabolics successful (stuffing your face all day long unless you have all liquid meals).

Great product-no gimmicks-tried and true for decades-and cheap as hell.

I just picked up another bottle of Animal LiverTabs, man I freaking love this stuff!! I normally buy this and the Sterol Complex and take them both together about 3 times per day, I actually normally take mine between meals. I def feel a lot more full in the muscles, a little harder, more energy, better mood/aggression when im in the gym. It is noticeable when I have not taken them for some time and then start up again, I am feeling great right now!!

Saw that article earlier today, thus leading me to this thread! Thanks for all the info!!

I was turned on to liver tabs about 18 years ago. Believe me they make a difference when used on a regular basis. That extra protein makes all the difference in the world. It's a old school favorite....

So I've noticed the new labels have the Vitamin B12 at a way lower amount than the old labels for Uni-liver. Also a few other changes.

Has the formula on these changed recently?

Not sure when the label change took place as I hadn't had to buy any in a while since I bought a few jugs last time.

Anyone notice the new Black containers have much bigger tabs? I think this is good though, because the tabs are super easy to dissolve and break apart very easily. I ordered some last time and got the old batch again, small hard as a rock tabs that I feel would have a harder time dissolving. Anyway I prefer the bigger tabs(they are really just wider). They seem to dissolve much easier.

Anyone who is taking Universal Liver tabs is a moron. Look at the recent ingredient change. Enjoy the extra calcium leading to kidney stones. Calcium is now 120mg per 2 tablets.

Terrible. Get Beverly, it costs more, but you get what you pay for.

As for the product changing, there have been multiple people complaining of Uni liver giving them gas/indigestion type issues. From what I've heard (I haven't tried the new ones yet) the new formula was tweaked to contain less fillers which should greatly help with the digestion and gas issues. It wasn't a change just because people couldn't swallow the pills.

We recently reformulated several products that greatly improved the products including Animal Cuts, Animal Pak and Natural Sterol Complex. We try to listen to our customers and make changes based on their feedback if/when we can.

That means there is 60mg of calcium per tablet. So what? I'm big on dairy; I love my milk, yogurt, cheese, etc. Never had I had issues with kidney stones. I'm sure it's possible and everybody's body is different, but I've never had that problem. The most I've ever felt were bloated and gassy. I've used Animal and Universal products with success, and find them to be legit.

I have no idea how to reply to a stupid post of this magnitude.

Adults usually need between 1000-1200mg of calcium a day. High calcium intake actually decreases risk of getting ks's.If you are getting your intake from supplements take it with food.Simple. one example

Evidence that Universal is putting out a subpar product? Look at their new formula, they have an inferior product, shoved more calcium into it, and are selling for more money!

Go and buy it fools!

What the hell are you on? I got mine for $10 too. You sound like a shill for Beverly. Dry up and blow away.:fool2:

More money? I only payed 10 dollars for 500 tablets.

Do you know why it's $10 for Universal and $35 for Beverly? You get what you paid for. Also, even Universal used to be cheaper, like $1 or $2.

W/e chumps keep using your low quality calcium + whey + some beef liver tabs, while I continue to use 100% Beef Liver.

Now I know your a shill. And an uneducated one. BN liver tabs are not 100% beef liver..teabag. You read an old thread on bb.com and came here to post your forum wisdom. Unfortunately you can't come up with anything relevant to refute my post on calcium and fail to know that ALL liver tabs contain calcium as a filler/binder. Now close that piehole and wander back to bb.com.

So liver tablets are good, with the exception of Universal. Do you have any information showing a comparison of the two brands? Would like to read more about this.

where are you guys getting these for $10???! NP has gone mad with their pricing of these things... $19 when even the other "bigger" place has them for cheaper...
