what's a reasonable and realistic amount of muscle one would gain in 5 months, provided they're training is on target and their diet is in caloric surplus?
 
depends on a number of factors bro: age, experience, body type, composition.

But on a bulk, remember you will put on mass. Not all of it will be lean. It's a slow process mate, brick by brick, day by day.
