UFC 101 DECLARATION

I did a horrible job for once calling the fights.

haha dislocated ya he took that and got school. he wasn't even throwing hard or at times he should throw then he went to strike and just got popped.

dude amir waited so long for that hahaha. poor guy. he needs to get a fight real quick.

i cant believe how bad kendal grove did i thought he was better than that.

neer was very upset with him preformance too.

ya we couldnt see ken flo's muy tai go because he was getting out boxed. that was his only hope even with having a BJJ BB.

ohwell now we can all watch WEC tonight!!!

Pellegrino was not exciting at all. Neer should have fought a stand up guy.
Grove really didn't look like he did in his last fight. Or maybe Richardo was that good. Crazy hands.
OFF TOPIC: Bowles/Torres fight was SWEEEEET. Great upset.
Poor Jeff Curran. He looked good but he couldn't stay off his back. Mitzugaki is a good fighter but Jeff should know how to defend the TD.

I was surprised with the punishment that Torres took. I mean 4-5 straight lefts on the ground and he was out. Ouch

Sooo I dont understand a couple things that happened here. First, how does Dana expect to make A.Silva fight Lyoto against his will? You cant really throw money at these guys, Anderson probably makes a shi t ton of $ already, and they have so much pride they wouldnt do it. So then why would Anderson want to give up his title and NOT fight for the 205 belt??? Hes gonna be the best fighter in the division fighting everyone but his friend/training partner. This makes no sense to me. Also makes no sense Hendo rematching Anderson, because if long and heavy Forrest couldnt touch the Spider then short and stocky Hendo is just gonna get destroyed again.

I think Id rather see Anderson KO Wanderlei at 185 LOL

Anderson should move up to HW, give c0ck chestnar a test, why not. Then again it wouldnt be a good fight to watch if he got trapped in the corner and rabbit punched to death

Turns out Forrest is just a cry-baby, sore-loser. Who'dathunkit?
MMAWEEKLY said:
Following a devastating knockout loss to UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 101 on Saturday night, former 205-pound champion Forrest Griffin wasted no time getting up from the mat and quickly exiting the Octagon.

At the post fight press conference, UFC President Dana White said he hadn't seen or heard from Griffin after the fight and he could be "back in Georgia" at that point.

“He’s an emotional guy,” commented White. “He came into this fight confident that he was going to beat Anderson Silva.”

Reports surfaced on Sunday that Griffin had suffered a jaw injury and that was the reason for his hasty exit, but MMAWeekly.com was able to confirm with representatives from Zinkin Entertainment, Griffin's management group, that he is physically fine following the Saturday night fight.

Griffin suffered no broken jaw and he is physically okay, said the Zinkin representative, but emotionally he is definitely not dealing well with the loss.

Griffin, who is ranked as a top five light heavyweight, faced Silva Saturday night in the co-main event, and struggled with the Brazilian's speed and unbelievable accuracy during the bout.

After two knockdowns early in the round, Griffin was caught with a quick straight right hand that put him down on the canvas for the final time as he waived to the referee to stop the fight.

Inconceivable!! Griffin never seemed like that type of guy.

LOL he could be "back in Georgia" at that point.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the deal with Anderson is either. Apparently he plans on relinquishing his current belt and making a permanent move up to the weight class to a sitting champion he refuses to fight :paranoid:

Unless he doesn't have faith that his brother in arms will maintain the belt that far down the road Invalid Link Removed

I think he just wants to fight at 205 and not worry about the belt. At least until (if) Machina loses it. He just doesnt seem like he HAS to have the belt.

That's true, I forgot his intentions are to challenge himself with tougher opponents and not so much about being champion. His intro fights into a "tougher" class with Irving and Griffin, I'm guessing he's not too impressed.

Was he not "Ali esque" during the Griffin fight? Left hand loose down by his side.

He was also Tyson'esque with how low he was ducking & dodging. I had re-watch the part when he dropped his hands and was dodging Griffin's strikes like the matrix a few times.

Griffin threw the fight. Another random stranger on the street confirms it this morning.

Hmmm.... now we have your roommates and a random stranger, that's pretty much good enough for me. In old Jerusalem, that's enough witnesses & testimony to convict a man for murder.

How about that under-the radar, legitimate consideration for p4p Miguel Torres v. Bowles fight?

However, truth be told, it's really hard for me to get into a weight class of fighters that weigh as much as a medium-set girl :paranoid: No disrespect, just say'n.

I'm so sick of hearing that Forest threw that fight and that KO wasnt legit because it didnt "look" hard. I just really dont have the time or energy to type out an argument on the web, ya know.

And yea, maybe those dudes are tiny, but damn they are still fun to watch IMO. :)

we'll make you believe tyler4 :D
jk the same people who said he threw the fight also said just after, "yeh *burp* I'd fight anderson silvia"
135ers are great even though i eat their weight in chicken and ground beef everyday. Frank Mir had a point though he might be the best p4p american fighter, which is again unfortunate due to his weight. side note did it seem like Mir wasn't very together mentally or very cognitive during his commentary? Like maybe he was on a few pain killers?... or dare I say a couple bud lights?

Lol, Exactly. They probably said, "dooooood, that punch wasnt even hard. I could take that punch and still be standing, burp."

At this point, you would apply a well placed high left kick, roommates included, apologize later.

"Here's an extra $10 for this months rent, we good?"

the positives out weigh the negatives trust me. They don't talk too much during the fight and they take the sting out of the $45. And with another UFC this month I need the help$ ...but yeah you guys are spot on.
~if you notice on at least 2 occasions Frank M is giving his profound knowledge on the fight and stops mid sentence for no reason and other guyyy has to finish his sentence for him. You ask me he was already depressed and/or high and then Torres didn't help the situation. He even tossed in a comment (to make himself feel better about his loss) about how things are going good and then out of nowhere a submission comes a blows the whole thing. I think he was talking about his first Brock fight. Mir and Forrest were pounding bushmills about 8am yesterday.

True story. Hence why he's been wanting to fight Roy Jones Jr for quite a while now it seems in boxing, and obviously Dana will not allow that. Hear Roy was even on the event "scouting" Anderson.

As a side note and a very happy note, spike tv announced starting in january a weekly series called the best of Pride FC. :woohoo:

101 was a horrible, horrible card. BJ, although with a clear win, took a very conservative route to a victory. The Hendricks fight was total and complete BS. Batman and Almeida LnP'ed to a win and then there was the Forrest fight...

WORK!!!

yeah i hated the neer vs kurt fight soooo boring, not even that good of GnP at all. i am glad kurt won but it wasnt even like a win. Neer is really mad after that one. i wanted kendal grove to win and have better striking i am a little surprised he did lose but that was very boring as well. that early stoppage sucked. i think all fighters would agree they would rather have a late stoppage(well maybe only in the moment) there has not been many injuries except the riddle KO on TUF and matt linland in affliction. most of the knockouts like wandy getting KOed and bisping getting KO'ed were able to get up 10 minutes later and get a grip. i dont want to see anyone get hurt even tho i love KO's i hope they get up a minute or 2 later and dont have to go to the ER jsut get medical attention on sight. it sucked to put in work and get an early stoppage because i know amir coupld pull it off sh!t he might of even been going for a submission hahaha well maybe not but still annoying. its his fault he did get caught to even put himself in that position tho and not taking away from hendricks he might of KO'ed him right after. he needs to get rid of that andre A beard.

Whats going through Rich Franklin's mind right now knowing Anderson is considering moving up in weight :D He should drop down again if that happens.

Anderson/Franklin midnight phone call: "Hey Rich....(anderson knows english) hey buddy you can come back to middle... I'm moving up." Rich "WooHoo"

I honestly don't know who can beat Anderson at 185 or 205. Except for Machida and he would probably get beat up. No one has ever broken Forrest down and Anderson destroyed him without breaking a sweat.. One person comes to mind in a few years - Bones Jones! Now that he is in greg jacksons camp, plus his size and talent. Anderson's head movement is ridiculous, who do you think can land enough shots?

i have high hopes for bones

Is it me or does the UFC fight night have the fights mixed up?
The Gray Maynard Vs. Roger Huerta is 1000x more of a headliner than Nate/Melvin. Hell I'd rather watch Cantwell/Stann than Melvin Guillard fight Nate.

I don't think anyone in the 185 or 205 is going to beat Anderson on his feet. His stand up is too far ahead of anyone in those classes. I think the only way you're beating Anderson is on the ground and I don't see anyone in the 185/205 doing that either.

Bones's greco-roman tosses are incredible! He was throwing Bonnar around like a little b!tch lol

I like both Diaz brothers fights, you think UFC will sign Nick back after a couple more amazing performances?

If Nick can keep his eyes on Gogoplatas more than Doobies, than maybe. He is a liability at this point, though. Given his most recent hiccup with CSAC, I doubt Dana is chomping at the bit to sign him.

Yea he tested positive for weed before but he has passed all his Strikeforce drug tests didnt he? I think he is a high level fighter and belongs in UFC. Sean Sherk and other have tested positive for gear (which gives the fighting game a worse name than weed), and they are still allowed to fight?

I like Nick as a fighter, but he is most certainly a liability. I would love to see him at 155 (considering he fought at 160 in pride)

Thats why (from what I've read) he skipped out on the recent drug test to fight Jay Hieron. I haven't read the article but its headlined, intentionally declined to show up for a scheduled drug test due to the possibility that he may test positive for marijuana.
People harp on BJ for lack of training but at least he makes it to the fight.

No, he recently refused to take a CSAC drug-test which denied him a license. He was going to fight Hieron, who initially stepped in to replace Joe Riggs. That card is absolutely cursed:

Alistair Overeem pulled out of his HW title defense against Werdum
Josh Thompson pulled out of his bout against Gilbert Melendez
Riggs pulled out of his bout against Diaz, who later screwed the organization.

WORK!!!

I agree the whole event was a little boring, especially Forrest's performance.

Ah man, that's cold blooded. It's funny, but I feel for the guy. Becoming the subject of a highlight reel is one thing, but becoming the subject of one of the GOAT highlight reel is another, then compound that with the "run, Forrest, run!" element. Poor guy...

Nonetheless, it's not beyond me to contribute.

hahahaha i cant stop laughing at the RUN Forrest, especially at the faces in the crowd lol Mir's bloody face wearing a hat, incredible GIF work

ok first I love Nick Diaz now and I used to not really like him. hes a great fighter and didnt have stuff go his way. Ufc should get him back and the whole weed thing is funny to me haha ya BJ penn atleast stays clean. remember when Diego sanchez tested positive.

that card is cursed. I cant believe Josh Thomson. Gilbert is gonig to run through him.

nice spine stomp right there. non of that of heals to the kidneys?

I liked BJ Penns kicks in the guard? but i think it was mostly when he had his back.

Strikeforce annoys me because I think they have good fights for okay fighters (guys I miss) but they all get hurt and sh!t its annoying. the girls are the best thing in that promotion. the cyborg fight I saw live was amazing. so fun.

another thing is they need to just need to strip the belt from **** lee. hes 185? the title bout was going to be 155 and 170 and HW right/? and girls? now just girls and interum light weight?
